Rasoi is a true hidden gem, discreetly situated within a bustling residential area of Vienna. Upon arrival, we were immediately welcomed by our server, Pascal, whose professionalism and attentiveness set the tone for the experience. The restaurant was pleasantly quiet for a Friday afternoon, as we arrived just after the peak lunch rush. We were presented with both the lunch specials and the main menu. The vegetarian and non-vegetarian thali options appeared inviting, though we opted instead for a selection of à la carte dishes, including chicken tikka, butter naan, roti, and palak paneer. The food was served promptly, with Pascal and the dining staff checking in regularly to ensure everything met our expectations. The quality of the meal exceeded expectations—flavorful without being heavy, and notable for its balance, as dishes were well-prepared without excessive oil or salt. Portions were generous given the price point, offering a great value. The level of service further elevated the experience, with Pascal going above and beyond—even helping capture a group photo to commemorate the occasion. In summary: Rasoi distinguishes itself through its combination of exceptional cuisine, welcoming ambiance, and attentive service. It stands on par with some of the region’s most renowned dining establishments, including Rasika, making it a destination well worth seeking out.

My husband and I came here for a date night on a weekday. We had a lovely time!! The food was amazing, the servers were very attentive, and the atmosphere inside the restaurant was great - not loud at all, the lighting was great, interesting decor and murals, clean! We ordered a lot of food and took everything we didn’t finish home. Very excited for leftovers! We got the Papdi Chat - Crispy pastries with pomegranate seeds. LOVED THIS!!! We also got the chicken biryani, veggie korma (my fave out of all the dishes we had), and dal maharani (my husband’s fave out of all the dishes we had), We also got the garlic naan, the rosemary gouda naan. The meal came with raita which was delicious!!!! The mango lassi was too sweet for me but my husband loved it. Regarding spice - I’m working on building up my spice tolerance (right now I’m a 10ish drops of sriracha on a burrito bowl kinda girl….dont judge) but I still only ordered the mild, since it was my first time here, and it was perfect. Next time I want to try the medium!

Honestly, this is just an average restaurant. I’m really surprised it has a 4.8 rating. Some items are good, but overall it’s just average. The lamb biryani is overly heavy on curry/masala and not properly balanced with rice. The achari chicken is good, but I’m not sure why they pair it with naan. When I asked for rice instead, they charged me an extra $4 (perhaps I wasn’t explicit about replacing the naan—my mistake). The pav bhaji is decent but doesn’t beat other restaurants like Bansari. Overall, I’d rate it no more than 6/10. Also this is the first time I am seeing on bill - total paid with cash & total paid with card. There is almost $2.5 difference. Not sure if this is casual thing to see on bill. I hope they take this feedback constructively and make improvements. If my review seems harsh, please understand that the food simply didn’t suit my palate

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4.5 stars for Food (absolutely loved it!) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4 stars for Service Speed ⭐️ 1 star for Server Attitude

I genuinely hope the management reads this as constructive feedback, because the food here is excellent and deserves every bit of appreciation — but the experience was overshadowed by how we were treated.

A few points I’d like to share: In the service industry, tone and attitude matter as much as the food itself. Customers should never feel sarcasm, arrogance, or irritation in interactions. Tipping should be earned through good service, not expected or demanded. It’s not fair to make customers feel guilty for choosing not to tip, especially when the service experience falls short. In my culture, we consider customers as guests and guests Godlike ("Atithi Devo Bhava") — depictig respect and warmth are at the heart of hospitality.

Context: We drove a few hours back from a day trip, saw this new restaurant open on Google (showing hours till 10 PM), and decided to try it out around 9:13 PM. We were seated without issue — great start. However, our server immediately told us (in a tone that felt more like a favor than information) that the kitchen usually closes by 9:15 on Sundays but he would “still take our order.” When we asked for a couple of minutes to decide, he returned in under a minute and said, “The pressure is from above.” That made us feel rushed and unwelcome, as though we were causing an inconvenience rather than being customers. If the kitchen was truly closed or short on time, it would’ve been completely fine to tell us upfront rather than make us feel like a burden.

At the end, we chose not to leave a tip and politely wrote on the receipt: “No tip as we did not like the service.” To our surprise, the cashier then exclaimed loudly, “What!! No tip??” — which felt unnecessary and unprofessional.

We truly loved the food and see great potential in this restaurant. We just hope management takes this as an opportunity to train staff on tone, empathy, and professionalism, so that the wonderful food experience matches the warmth of...

Our family of three just enjoyed a delicious dinner at Rasoi. Everything about this restaurant is wonderful - food, service, hospitality, and ambiance! Having spent a month vacationing in Northern India earlier this year, I was looking forward to trying this new restaurant located so close to our home. Rasoi's kind staff and wonderful food exceeded my expectations!

We started with chicken momos (steamed dumplings full of flavorful filling surrounded by a thin tender layer of dough) and somosa chaat (vegetable samosa served with chickpeas, onion, herbs, pomegranate seeds, and tamarind sauce). We shared four main dishes - chicken korma (a mild sauce made from cashews), chicken tikka (great depth of flavor and medium spicy), chicken vindaloo (the spiciest of the three, but flavorful rather than simply hot), and aloo going (a mild vegan dish featuring cauliflower, potatoes, ginger, and masala spices). Yes, we opted for a lot of chicken, so next time we'll consider the shrimp and/or lamb. The garlic naan was light in texture with just the right amount of fresh garlic and ghee. The side of raita was a lovely complement to the meal. We brought home a dessert to share - the traditional warm gulab jamun. Sometimes that dessert is too sweet for my taste, but Rasoi's version was nicely balanced and hit the right amount of sweetness for me.

Please patronize Rasoi, as they are working diligently to provide abundant servings of fresh delicious Indian cuisine at a very reasonable price point. We ended up taking home more than we ate, and we're already looking forward to the leftovers!

Thank you, Rasoi! We'll see...

I had the pleasure of dining at Rasoi this past Saturday, and I have to say—it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and a welcoming atmosphere that immediately made us feel comfortable and at ease. The interior was clean, stylish, and inviting, setting the perfect tone for a relaxed and enjoyable meal. The service was outstanding. The staff was incredibly attentive without being overbearing—they checked on us regularly to make sure we had everything we needed, refilled our drinks promptly, and even took the time to ask how we were enjoying our food. It’s clear that customer satisfaction is a top priority for them, and it really made a difference. Now, let’s talk about the food—absolutely delicious! Every dish was full of flavor, fresh, and beautifully presented. You can really tell that care and quality go into the cooking. Whether you’re trying a classic dish or something new, there’s a great variety on the menu and everything we ordered exceeded expectations. Another big plus was the convenient parking. There’s a parking garage located right at the restaurant, and they offer 2-hour free parking, which made the entire visit stress-free and convenient, especially for a weekend evening. Overall, Rasoi offered a perfect blend of hospitality, flavor, and comfort. I’ll definitely be back again soon, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience in a welcoming...
