Comfort Inn & Suites Mexia — Hotel in Mexia

Stayed here about 3 weeks ago to attend a funeral in Groesbeck, TX and was VERY pleasantly surprised. Not only were the hotel grounds nice, but the hotel rooms themselves were even more nice. We had to get 2 rooms because it was 6 of us and they were able to accommodate us by giving us side by side rooms since they did not offer conjoining rooms. 1 room had 2 queen beds and our room had 1 king bed, both of which were clean, had microwaves, and mini fridges for our convenience and the king room was VERY spacious. In the morning, they offered a full breakfast buffet which was great considered we had 4 kids with us, not to mention a pizza hut next door! Be very wary of this hotel!!!! We stayed at this hotel a month ago it was great, so we made another reservation asked for the same room or at the minimum the first floor they said no problems and they locked us into the room that we had been in. We called to verify that a week before the reservations they had it noted on the account said no problem. When we get there to check in they had moved us all the way to the third-floor and they did not seem to care about the change. The lady behind the counter was very rude about it and would not refund our money. She said we were past our cancellation time I told her it was not our fault that we were having to cancel that it was the hotels fault and that they had very poor customer service. The hotel seemed clean and they served a nice breakfast. Would be nice if it extended a little longer than 9:00 a.m. There were a few things in the room that needed repair. The sink outside the bathroom was dripping and the faucet handle was broken. Above the bed was a large crack in the ceiling. And the ac didn't really cool very well so it was hard to sleep. Around the bathtub faucet was a metal plate that was broken and just spinning. Small issues except for the ac but when there are so many things needing repair it makes it look like the hotel is not being maintained well. The lobby is small and the girl at the front desk seemed really bored with her job. But we would still stay there again because it did seem clean. Just not in the summertime when you need...
