I absolutely LOVE everything about the El Governor! Some of my earliest memories from my youth over 30 years ago are from our family's summertime trips to the El Governor at Mexico Beach.

When Hurricane Michael hit in 2018, our property in N. FL. was hit badly, but was not completely devasted like Mexico Beach was after the storm. We were so heartbroken to see the damage to the El Governor and the surrounding areas, and we weren't sure if we'd ever get a chance to return.

Now, I have been lucky enough to have a son of my own to take to the Mexico Beach and the Forgotten Coast, and enjoy the refurbished El Governor Resort! So, he now represents the 3rd generation of our family visiting the beauty of the El Governor!

We absolutely love the views, the sand, the water, and especially the majestic sunsets that can be seen from the El Governor. The staff is friendly, the gift shop has a bunch of cool sun gear, apparel and souvenirs. They sell beer and wine in the lobby/gift shop as well, and there is a full bar that is open daily. The pool and sunpad are great, and the swings under the gazebo are a percect reprieve to cool off during hot sunny summer days.

All in all, probably my personal favorite spot to enjoy a beach trip, and to get to watch the sunset over the Gulf. Highly recommend visiting if you have never been! 10 out...

What a lovely and peaceful place in Mexico Beach. We had an unexpected trip for family reasons and Tangi and Kim were exceptionally accomodating. From the moment you walk in, the front desk staff to the housekeeping ladies were all very welcoming and kind. The place is spotless and very well kept. The gift shop offers such cute gifts at great prices! Each room has a kitchenette (microwave, full refrigerator with freezer, sink, and stove) and stocked with great essentials. The pool is heated and equipped with a handicapped seat for lowering into the water. and we loved how it has a large wading step and only went to 4.6 ft as we could enjoy sitting on the ledge that surrounded the pool while watching the kids play. Lots of indoor and outdoor loungers and seating poolside and at the bar. Steps and boardwalk right onto the beach. Beside the pool is a lovely sitting area with swings, shower and kiddie splash pad. I just can’t say enough about the entire stay and those responsible for running the site. We hope to be back again someday! Thanks ladies...

El Governor on Mexico Beach, Florida, offers an incredible coastal escape with amazing rooms that blend comfort with breathtaking views of the Gulf. Imagine starting your day with a stunning sunrise right outside your front door and ending it by watching a mesmerizing sunset from your balcony. The accommodations are top-notch, designed to make your stay as relaxing as possible. Whether you're enjoying the panoramic views or unwinding in the cozy, well-appointed rooms, you'll feel right at home.

The beachside bar is another highlight, serving up delicious drinks that are perfect for cooling off during the day in the sun or relaxing at the pool! With friendly service and a laid-back atmosphere, it's the ideal spot to unwind. El Governor truly delivers on every front—you will not be...

We absolutely LOVED our first (but not our last) stay at El Govenor. We took advantage of the Valentine’s special and came down for a long weekend. The hotel is beautiful, clean, modern and has everything you need right on sight. The gift shop has everything you may need or want and even some essentials at very reasonable prices. The pool is heated and the pool area is nice and relaxing. We enjoyed our room (very comfy beds and plenty of pillows) and loved that it has the kitchenette. The biggest thing we noticed is, even at full capacity, it was quiet! Never any noise issues or loud sounds coming from other rooms. Loved the balcony and the view ā¤ļø. The location is also perfect, right in the middle of everything and plenty of nearby food options.
