I had the pleasure of staying at Yoder’s Guest House for a solo work trip, and I can honestly say it was one of the best lodging experiences I’ve ever had. From the moment I walked in, I felt completely welcomed. The entire house was spotless—everything was clean and well cared for, which instantly made me feel comfortable and at home.
The staff were genuinely kind, patient, and never in a rush. You can tell they actually enjoy what they do and care about their guests. My private room had everything I needed, including a clean and stocked bathroom (thankfully, they had soap—I forgot mine). The room also had a window A/C unit that kept the space nice and cool, and a cable TV setup with movie channels that made winding down at night even better.
When I checked in, I was asked what time I’d like breakfast, and it was ready for me just as promised. That level of attention to detail really stood out. The dining area was cozy and welcoming, and there’s even a nice back porch where you can relax and take in the small-town charm.
Chuck was incredibly hospitable and easy to talk to. He’s passionate about cycling and encourages guests to bring their bikes—there’s even storage space for them. It’s easy to see he takes pride in this place and in the experience of each guest.
What really surprised me was how affordable it was—cheaper than the local hotel, yet in every way a better option. It had way more personality, warmth, and comfort than any hotel stay I’ve had. This was my first time staying at a bed and breakfast, and I’m already looking forward to returning—next time with my family.
If you’re considering a trip to the area, skip the hotel and stay here instead. You...
Read moreWe had a great experience at Yoder's Guest House! They are so dialed in to meeting the needs of bicyclists on the GAP trail. There was a great set up to hose off your bike and gear if it has been raining (we had that) and his locked garage for storage was stocked with a large assortment of tools, bike parts you might need, rags, and plenty of saw horses to lean your bike on. The room was nice, and even though we were on the street, it was really quiet. The house was only about half full, but we didn't hear any noise from other guests, either. The breakfast was outstanding for a solid start to the day! They noted I am vegetarian, and instead of sausage links I was provided a lovely compote of Greek yogurt and granola to go along with the egg dish, coffee cake and fruit. It was promptly served as we came in to the breakfast room, so if you are in a hurry, you could be in and out of there in just as long as it takes you to eat.|A local restaurant has an agreement with the B&Bs in town that if you make a reservation, he will pick you up and return you to save you the walk. Many of the guests here take him up on it, as did we. The hosts were delightful people and really know what they are doing here. Overall,...
Read moreI discovered Yoder's Guest House while on an end-to-end bike trip on the Great Allegheny Passage in 2023. The accommodations are great; the rooms, service, location, bike storage and especially the breakfast! There was a group of four of us back in 2023 and we all agreed this was our best breakfast on the trail. Denise and her staff are excellent hosts - and Denise prepares a wonderful breakfast daily! We loved this place and vowed to return. So, we visited for a multi-day stay in 2024 and just completed our third visit for a multi-day stay to ride segments of the GAP and explore this area of Pennsylvania. Meyersdale is a great location close to several scenic areas on the GAP. It offers food options and a chance to re-stock on any biking supplies, etc. It's also close to Somerset, Flight 93 Memorial and more. I very rarely post a Google review as my expectations of people and businesses are high. However, I have to give out shout out for Denise, her staff and Yoder's Guest House. They are the best -- and you won't be disappointed should you...
