I stayed here the night before my wedding and there was nothing but a huge party on every single floor from a Friday night wedding and my wedding was on Saturday. There were slamming doors and in and out of the hotel all night, so people could go smoke weed in the parking lot and then they smelled like it when they came back in so my two hours of sleep prior to my wedding day was one of the worst nights of my life. You could hear the person in the next room, walking, talking, turning the TV on, flushing the toilet, and you could literally hear the flick of the light on and off in the bathroom in the next room. I had several guest fly in from out of state coming in from Iowa, Florida, California, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, northern Ohio, Kentucky, and probably others I’m missing, but basically I had issues from the beginning with this hotel. Not only issues with the Wedding blocks for rooms but then anytime I have a question or concern it was thrown in my face, here’s the contract. Here’s the number of rooms, etc. but in reality if I needed more rooms after they were booked for the wedding, I was supposed to be able to go back to someone who was on maternity leave who was Christina Dunaway and she was unable to help me at all because she was not there so the staff that was left to help, i was told every time I called on a Wednesday or Thursday. I had to wait for the following week and that happened three or four times and finally someone stepped in to give us some more rooms but not before weeks passed— i had 20 rooms booked at holiday inn express because this hotel was NOT easy to work with from the beginning. none of my guests got sleep who flew in or drove in on Friday because of the slamming of the doors and the partying throughout the entire hotel. It was mentioned to the front desk several times throughout the night and She said she has already said something so she could say something again, but that’s about it. I then find out Saturday morning that I could’ve called the police, which I did not know but also the girl at the front desk said oh I just found out that I could’ve called the police for help too. Why was that not known to begin with? The staff is obviously not properly trained on how to handle the hotel when it has gone out of control and when they have lost control of their guest. You cannot have 20 something year-old kids come back from a wedding and take over your hotel when you have other guests that are paying and staying and expecting to get sleep. Saturday morning the kid who wanted to keep me up all night and thought it was funny telling me I’m not that kind of person if you think I’m going to bed at 2:30 AM… He put his middle fingers in the air and said F you to me in the lobby in front of the general manager in front of the front desk staff, and was coming towards me with the brides father from the night before, and they actually were cussing at me and wanting to fight me. The staff stood there and did not help the situation at all… My mom who is 5’3 and one of my relatives who flew in from Iowa and had issues on their flight the day before (not getting sleep Friday) stepped in between me and the boy who wanted to fight me, and was about to shove me in front of the lobby staff and general manager… Again they did nothing. This doesn’t include the WATER MAIN BREAK with issues they have had before so you could smell poo on top of poo on top of poo in the hallway after people kept using the bathroom. I had 8 bridesmaids who couldn’t use water when we were getting ready for hours. The conference room i had for 2 days i had bottles of wine stolen from overnight and any food / snacks for Sunday were all gone I almost said screw it and saw my husband Friday night because it was such hell trying to stay in a place, paper thin walls and a staff that has ZERO control over their hotel. What a disgusting location and the staff mediocre at best — they offered 1 night refund 😂…. Currently working with corporate who can’t do much so on to the...
Read moreI wish I could give this review more of a 3.5 / 5. My experience overall was good, but nothing to write home about, especially for a stay at a Hilton. I recently moved to Cleveland and came back down for a visit and I stayed here for one night.
Check in was great. The woman helping me was super friendly. I was charged $25 more than my reservation had outlined and later found out it was some sort of deposit. I wish that was outlined a little better as no one mentioned it to me until I asked. They said I should see a refund on my card in 2-3 business days pending no issues with the room, so I'll have to watch for that.
My room was quiet and clean. The only major issues were the bed and the toilet. It took 2-3 attempts each time the toilet was used to get it to actually flush. The first time it occurred, I had called down to the desk only to be told that the only person available to look at it was the same woman who checked me in. Fortunately, I was able to call her right back and let her know I didn't need her to come up because the toilet finally flushed, but I felt awful that she didn't have any sort of maintenance staff working with her to help.
The bed was so uncomfortable. One reason I pay for stays at Hilton or other "higher" end hotels is for the comfort. The bed felt as though I was sleeping on the ground, so I didn't really get more than a few hours of sleep and woke up with a lot of back pain. It was one of the worst beds I've ever slept on in a hotel, however, I'm sure most people can manage to sleep on anything so maybe it's a non-issue for most guests.
As long as I get the $25 deposit back that I wasn't aware of, I'd say this place is a good place to stop. Pet friendly, clean,...
Read moreNice and clean rooms, breakfast sorta lacking.
My room was nice, not great. It smelled good. The most important thing, imo, is how clean it is, and no bugs of any type. The matress was the wool topped adjustable HGI matress, and it was comfortable. Bedding and pillows were great. Towels were sorta scratchy, but completely usable.
The grounds were well maintained, and nicely landscaped. All of the entry doors locked , and everything seemed secure.
The baby racoons were a nice addition. They were so cute and fun to watch as they foraged in the grass by the parking area.
The breakfast was my biggest complaint. If you want a completely unhealthy breakfast, you are in luck. They will cook you an omelette or fresh eggs. If you are watching it like I am, not so much. No low fat yogurt cups, no fresh fruit, except for apples. The first day, there was disgusting oatmeal, day 2, no oatmeal. Would it kill them to put out some bannanas and cottage cheese? But if you want 3 pounds of bacon, you got it. The waitress was very nice and tried to be helpful.
So breakfast aside, it was a very good stay. Give it a try, especially if you want a gluttonous amount of bacon for...
