Traveling on Military orders, and spending a weekend in Pensacola, I chose to stay here as I have a friend that lived nearby who I’d be visiting. Being that my residence is only a couple hours away, my fiancé chose to come down on Saturday. We had planned on keeping the dogs at the friend’s house, but unfortunately they did not get along with one of the other dogs there. I had no intention of having dogs at this hotel, but after we realized they couldn’t stay there at the friends, we decided to bring them to the hotel, after all, it is “pet friendly.” We arrived around 11pm with the dogs and left at 10am the following day (less than 12 hours of dogs in the room). Later, after speaking with someone on the phone, I was informed I’d be charged $107 because the maids found dog hair in the room and a pet was not declared. She explained the room would need to be “steam cleaned” eyes roll and animals are only allowed on the first floor, not the second where I was. (Not listed or posted anywhere that I saw FYI). Her logic being it could impact someone with allergies… I highly doubt this room will be steam cleaned in the first place judging by some of the other discrepancies. They’re very quick to tack on a charge for possible dog allergens, but don’t care to clean the mold/mildew in the shower area. Sounds like a cash grab to me. To make matters worse, this charge is on a government travel card because apparently another eye roll they cannot charge it to any other card, only the one on file, so that’s something else I’ll have to deal with. Sounds like someone being lazy to me, as snacks and other charges do not need to be charged to the card on file. To summarize, I have no issues paying the $40 per night pet fee ($40 in total for me as the dogs were there LESS THAN 12 hours), which I did not even know about or I’d had mentioned the dogs as soon as I knew they would be coming. But $107? That’s ridiculous. How would I know pets can’t be on the 2nd floor of a pet friendly hotel. Even more so that I can’t pay that unnecessary charge with a personal card. Overall, the hotel itself is average to below average. The smell in the hallway from other reviews is true, mold in bathrooms, room key that you have to wave 15 times to get to work, outlets that plugs won’t stay in or don’t work at all… but the real disappointment is the lack of compassion from the staff for a simple misunderstanding, which resulted in an over...
Read moreThis is the absolute worst hotel experience I have ever had. I booked through a third-party website for myself, my daughter, and my dog due to the third-party website being $50 cheaper than booking directly through the hotel. I made sure this hotel was pet friendly before I booked my stay due to me having an animal. I checked on the third-party website that I would be bringing animals along. Upon arrival, I was made aware that there was a $100 deposit. I spoke with the front desk person, and she was very sweet, but she was very well aware that I had animals. Nothing was said about it, and she did not make me aware that the third-party did not leave a note that I brought animals along.
I have been going back-and-forth with this hotel since October 24th about my $100 deposit. Both times I called.. I get the runaround. Finally, I called corporate minutes after speaking with a person at the actual hotel.
It was communicated with customer relations that I was not getting my deposit back due to “me having an animal that they were unaware “ of. This is false.
I immediately call back the hotel, and they acted like they knew nothing about what I was talking about.
Finally, she advises me that they put down that I had a undisclosed animal there..
Which again is false.
They advised me then they could not refund my full $100, but that they would refund the difference in the pet fee which is $42.00.
We were at this hotel for a total of seven hours at the most.
The room was disgusting, it smelled like pure, mold there was the smell of mold under the bed, and in the carpet. there is ants coming out of the sink.
I have absolutely never had a worse experience than dealing with this hotel.
There is absolutely no reason why I was not made aware of the pet fee, and no reason why their employees have not contacted me sooner about this matter. I have been calling for days about my deposit, and until I called customer relations, received no information on my deposit not being returned. This is completely unacceptable for a business.
I have been a dog owner for years and always make sure anywhere I stay accommodates animals before checking myself in.
Being accused of having an animal there that I did not make them aware of is ridiculous for the quality of this hotel.
I would never recommend this...
Read moreMOLD! MOLD! MOLD! we were traveling in a two groups of two heading back home after a long road trip. We decided on the best western and while weren't exactly comfortable with the price. We were tired and figured the hotel would be worth it. WE COULDNT HAVE BEEN MORE WRONG. We paid almost $200 for the room and then another $100 for the security deposit, and $30 dollars for a pet fee. Not only was there black mold scattered throughout the room WHICH I HAVE NUMEROUS PICTURES OF. Which got my girlfriend sick, and caused the rest of us to feel utterly nauseous the entire night. BUT, we were exhausted so we tried to make the best of it. It wasn't until the morning, when someone tried to take a shower, that we found out the shower was LEAKING INTO THE ROOM. Which not only confirmed any speculation of black mold, but also soaked one of our bags, nearly ruining a $1000 ipad, thank God it didnt. This was all in room 211 so if they try to book you in this room DO NOT LET THEM. I have been trying to get a refund for the better part of over 2 week. We didn't book through any booking angency, and there's only a manger at the location from 8-4 Monday-friday (and I'm told ONLY A MANAGER/OWNER can discuss and issue a refund/compensation ) but they always seems to be conveniently out of the office whenever i try to go up there and inquire about my refund. We also left the room how we found it. Despite maybe a full trash a and new water spot on the carpet caused by THEIR LEAKY SHOWER, and i have yet to get my $100 security deposit back. They told me to email the owner, which i did, no repsonse. And I was told I'd receive a phone call or have some reach out to me within a couple days, they did not. I'd understand if this was some rundown, sketchy, cheap motel on the side of a highway. But i paid nearly $300 in total, to be given a room not even worth my $100 security deposit. I will also be reporting this hotel to the local health department, and making sure anyone and EVERYONE who wants to stay in this area stays FAR AWAY FROM THIS BEST WESTERN. IF GOGGLE WOULD KET ME ADD THE PICTURE OF THE...
