Travelodge by Wyndham has a questionable status. Other reviewers found problems during their stay. Remember, this is not an overpriced Disney hotel. Evaluate everything with "budget motel" in mind.
Check-in was quick and easy. The front desk representative, Equilla, was wonderful. She answered lots of questions and proved that quality customer service still exists.
My first room, however, showed problems. A floor lamp and the microwave were unplugged. In addition, the rug was corroded by the patio door (see photo). Fast food garbage was also in two waste cans (see two photos). Finally, the promised refrigerator was non-existent.
Was housekeeping leaving garbage, or does someone get in at night? I did not wait to find out. Travelodge assigned me a new room.
I drove to entrance C, which is near the room. While unloading, two cars appeared on both sides of mine. They stayed until I finished and then sped away. No one got out of either car. The closest had no rear license plate. Thieves or drug dealers came to mind.
The closest entrance was twenty feet, or less, from my room. Unfortunately, its card reader was not updated. The door, as a result, could only be opened from the inside. With my box of study material in hand, I carried twenty pounds of paper to the other end of the building. Only the east readers at entrance A and B work.
An unknown young lady ran to the door just as I arrived. She tried to enter, but her card did not work. My card got her in. Later, security found her wandering upstairs. Box in hand, I walked a block to my room.
Room two was much better. Everything worked, and the housekeeping was finished. It included a couch. The ambient lighting, however, left many dim areas (see photos).
Entrance C, interestingly, gets used all night. Smokers must go outside. A light smell of Crack filled the air by it and entrance B. I rested, but never slept. With a work day only hours away, the room expense was wasted. My study time was also reduced.
Travelodge is still being remodeled. It needs lots of work and a room-by-room quality review. Without a security guard, it would face too many problems from drug dealers and their customers. This reviewer will wait a few months before...
Read moreThe rooms for the extended stay patrons are no where near as nice or as clean as the rooms in the rest of the hotel. According to our "neighbors" our room is better than the rest of them. Which was shocking to us. There are leaks into the rooms, clogged drains, terribly filthy carpeting in every room I have been in or seen. Even broken beds and furniture! It's out of hand in this part. And I had to pay the nightly rate (nice room rate) for two nights until I got paid so I was charged $86 the first night and $93 the next. I've been staying for weeks and I am the type of person who can't just step over trash or look at garbage outside my room every single day. I get angry. So I pick it up. And I've been picking up trash since I got here. There is no way that they don't have the option of charging us a prorated rate. Something, anything less than full price of a nice room. And what makes it worse is that the manager is absolutely awful in the way she interacts with us. I personally have been literally completely ignored and when I address her she's really condescending and dismissive. I'm totally surprised she has the position she does, considering that it's one that is mostly about customer service. When I mentioned I would be willing to help out with the garbage and dog poop problem in exchange for a discount she was mad, actually angry, and said that they have people who take care of it. Well if that's true then why is there so much of it all over. I mean wow. Then there's the rest of the front desk people. There's one, ONE, named Heather, who is very pleasant and respectful. The tall black guy is the worst other than that manager. He literally ignored me when I greeted him with a "good morning" and complimented how nice and clean it was in the lobby. He didn't even look up. And there's no way he didn't hear me, or notice me walking in any past him. It's happened a few times. What a complete jerk. I mean that. I hope this...
Read moreGiving this place 2 stars for good service, convenient location, and potential. Putting that aside this hotel should be shut down immediately.
The place is like something you would see in a movie, never did I think hotels like this actually exist. Everything you’ve seen in other reviews is 100% true. The place absolutely reeked of pot. Parties blaring music and for some weird reason other guests constantly screaming at the top of their lungs both nights I was there. The room itself was filthy. Dust was everywhere, mold all in the shower (I ended up showering at the gym), the toilet was mounted away from the wall and diagonally (not a huge deal but weird), the sliding doors weren’t secure at all and were actually shaking due to wind. On the bright side, the bed was fine although I slept on top of the comforter instead of getting under the covers. I also didn’t see any insects or rodents and noticed they have those black boxes with rat poison outside (must have an exterminator now). The room had basic appliances, which was nice although I chose not to use them. Both nights I decided to find things to do around town so the only time I spent in the room was to sleep.
You get what you pay for, but the pictures I saw of the place are not remotely close to what it’s actually like. It was a cheap room but it wasn’t that cheap. The next time I’ll just pay an extra $25 and stay at a Holiday Inn. Sad, because this place could be a really cool vintage hotel if some money was put into it. For now, there’s no way I could recommend someone to stay here. The owner/operator really needs to take action, it seems like they constantly read these reviews and apologize but it’s been going on for years and years. Again, I do what to emphasize the staff was fine. The guy at the front desk...
