The atmosphere is open but cozy colored to keep it from feeling cold or sterile. The cultural décor is lovely but not over the top to be visually overwhelming. Lots of windows, but with the lower sections covered with the advertising you see on the outside. This kept the room bright, but still private from outside prying eyes.
The service is just great. We had three different people doing various things for us from the ordering, to delivering food, as well as filing water glasses. They were all SO friendly and cheerful. There were a few language issues, but nothing we couldn't work through together in order to reach clear understanding all around.
The food is delicious! We started with the Fried Chicken Dumplings and the Grilled Meat Spring Rolls - chose pork for the meat. Mom ordered the Grilled Chicken Vermicelli, and I ordered the Shaken Beef Tenderloin with Rice. With the appetizers we received 3 dipping sauces. They brought each of us our dipping bowls which doesn't seem like a big deal, but is in fact a great detail. No double-dipping issues, nobody hogging one type of sauce from the other(s). Actually there WAS a forth sauce in a single bowl to share. But I was with MOM, so no big deal. The dumplings were just delicious, and fried on all sides, not just one, so they had a real nice crisp to them. The spring rolls were really good. Real interesting. Hot on the one side with the meat, and cold on the other with the veggies. Loved them. The bowl with Mom's Vermicelli was huge. She said it was delicious and it LOOKED fabulous. So much food she had two additional meals leftover. I have never had the shaken reparation of beef and I was NOT disappointed. The presentation is just beautiful and the flavor is outstanding. It comes with a simple salad of lettuce, tomatoes, and red onion that is dressed with a vinegar and sugar blend. I have the leftovers at home for dinner tonight. I did also take a slice of chocolate cake home. It was quite cold and hard to cut through, but when I let it come up to room temperature, the icing was fluffy and creamy, and the cake was soft and moist.

My recent experience at BaoBao Cuisine was nothing short of a nightmare, and I rarely post bad reviews.
We decided to give BaoBao Cuisine a try, lured by the seemingly positive reviews and enticing menu. However, from the moment we walked in, things started to go downhill.
Firstly, the place was shockingly dirty. Tables were sticky, the floor was littered with crumbs, and there was an unpleasant smell in the air. It was clear that cleanliness was not a priority here.
Despite the off-putting ambiance, we decided to stay and ordered a few dishes. The prices were astonishingly high, but we hoped the quality of the food would justify it. Unfortunately, we were sorely mistaken.
When our food arrived...the ingredients were far from fresh. The dishes smelled old and unappetizing. My pho tasted like it had been sitting out for hours, and the seafood dish we ordered had a distinctly off smell. It was as if they were trying to mask the staleness with excessive seasoning.
The final straw was when we received the bill. Not only were we charged more than the menu prices, but there were also additional, unexplained charges. When we questioned the staff, they were dismissive and unhelpful. It felt like we were being taken advantage of, and I couldn't shake the suspicion that something shady was going on.
After leaving, I checked my bank statement and, sure enough, we had been overcharged. It felt like a fraud, plain and simple.
BaoBao Cuisine is a place I would strongly advise against. The prices are outrageous for the poor quality of food, the environment is dirty, and the billing practices are highly suspect. Save your money and your stomach, and choose a...
Read moreWhile traveling around the Milwaukee area and craving Vietnamese takeout, Bao Bao Cusine appeared in my search results. Their menu featured many of my favorite authentic dishes, so it didn’t take long to decide. After a recent minor surgical procedure, I couldn’t eat beef or indulge in my usual go-to “pho.” Thankfully, they have plenty of options for chicken and pork, which was a huge relief. When a last-minute change to my business partner’s car service appointment meant I couldn't pick up the food as planned, the owner was kind enough to offer delivery directly to the car service location, and that saved me from starving while waiting! By the way, the Lemongrass Stir‑Fry Chicken and Crispy Egg Noodles with Tofu were absolutely delicious and perfectly met my expectations. As someone who appreciates well-crafted flavors, I can confidently say the quality was outstanding. When I excitedly told my partner about this hidden gem, he suggested we go to Bao Bao for dinner in two days. We had originally planned to shop at an Asian market and cook at home, but this lovely change of plans gives me more time to explore Milwaukee, and even allows us to go for relaxing walks in the park! Who would have thought that discovering a restaurant could shift the mood of a business trip right? In these uncertain times, when doing business involves unexpected costs, I truly salute every small‑business owner just for staying open. I’m really looking forward to meeting the owner in person, enjoying their great food and friendly service once again. I hope Bao Bao Cuisine continues to thrive so I can visit again on my...
