Mai Cafe — Restaurant in Milwaukee

I really don't make this kind of review anywhere but I truly had the most bizarre dining experience here on Sunday 10/27. We came here with friends because we have a brunch club and I thought based on the website this would be a good spot. We walked in and it was basically empty besides 5 people, we sit by the bar to eat and order bloody and mimosa. We watch the bartender in front of us pour just tomato juice and some seasoning, and for the mimos just pour orange juice and starry. I didn't even notice until my friend told me what she had poured. We already ordered the sampler platter so we decided to just wait and close out. It took a while for our drinks, but took a bit longer for food too even when no one was there. Based on the drinks and the air fried dry appetizers we just closed our and left. I really thought I was being punked LOL where is ashton. Oh also they charged us full price bloody and mimosa, we just did not feel comfortable staying and decided not to complain and go to somewhere else. We spent 60 DOLLARS on 3 non alcoholic alcoholic drinks, and 2 beers, and a sampler platter. I don't understand the reviews and it must have gone...

Terrible service, walked in the door and nobody even came to seat us. When we finally got a table it took nearly 10 minutes before we were even given menus, then an additional 10 minutes before they asked us for our order. Low and behold another 30 minutes before we received our food. Staff didn't apologize for long wait times even after my 5 year old asked what was taking so long, so I'm assuming this is a normal thing for this place. The food was surprisingly good but not good enough for the wait time and somewhat high prices. Staff was friendly, when ever they decided to come around and check how everything was only 1 time for the nearly 2 hour visit. In my opinion I think the staff should dress a bit more professional as well and not coming to work in what looked to be the same clothes they partied in the night before ( only assuming because they looked like they were all hungover) oh and last but not least... I wouldn't suggest bringing kids since they "haven't printed any children's menus" and if they would have there would only be 2 options, grilled cheese or chicken nuggets. So plan to pay full price for what your kid wants from...

You could not find a better place not only to eat but to converse and hangout with your friends and family and this place is also a great way to meet people including the people who work for the company! This place is warm welcoming and inviting, that is all you need, besides their tasty food and cheap prices!!!! Have fun like I did and my family! Please say hi to Sonny and Becky and the best of the rest of the most wonderful people you will have ever met, they deserve so much more including investors to help promote this wonderful bar and grill! The food is too awwww about! Good luck to you if you have the chance to dine in carryout or even delivery!!!!!!
