White House Inn Genoa — Hotel in Minden

I stayed 3 nights in the Cottage this past week. I wish I could give them more than five stars. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating to me. I feel like they went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable. I was needing to find a place in Carson Valley, as I was traveling alone from out of state for a business trip, that was safe, clean, and bonus points for great view. When I arrived, I was delighted to see how charming the grounds were. Then when I entered my cottage it was clean, they turned the AC on for me, and there were muffins and orange juice in the fridge. The shower was amazing too! Which was nice to use after a long day working outside. The staff was great at checking in to see if I needed anything but also was respectful of my space. Also my last night they had a movie night outside in the orchard. It was such a a fun event. They are close to downtown, so it was a quick walk to grab some food or shop in the charming downtown. And there are friendly deer that like to rest from the days heat on their property. My last night they gave me a tour of the house. The other two rooms are charming as well (They were unoccupied at that time. So they did not invade others privacy) I see why people rent this place out for the holidays and weddings as well. My wife and I spent three nights at the White House Inn in Genoa NV. Genoa is a small town in the Minden/Gardnerville area with lots of history - the oldest settlement in Nevada being one. The town has been restored and has many charming stores and places to see. Very quiet, off the beaten path and hustle & bustle, a very charming town.|| The White House is a beautifully restored historical home and we chose to stay in the Carriage House, a detached single-bedroom dwelling on the premises, rather than in the main house. The styling and ambiance are reminiscent of a country farm home with lots of open space, lush grass, yet with 2013 creature comforts! The style and decoration inside the Carriage House were wonderful, very complete with a lot of thought and preparation clearly having been done beforehand. Breakfasts were wonderfully prepared with choices made the night before by Taylre, the facility manager who took care of all our needs during our stay. || We found the entire White House experience to be refreshing and relaxing, away from the traffic, noise, and clutter of other lodgings in the area. We rented the entire property for our daughter and son-in-law's wedding party. The wedding itself was across the street at Cottonwood. However, if you have a smaller more intimate wedding, you could have the ceremony here. The property is gorgeous!||Lacey and Caden, the property managers, are two of the nicest people you will meet. They accommodated our every need. The inn itself is beautiful with so many fun elements and antiques.||The main house has two bedrooms upstairs and a pull out couch in the formal living-room downstairs. There are two cottages on the property. One with another full kitchen. The sun-room and breeze room areas are lovely and relaxing. There are plenty of board games and seating to accommodate a large family or group. The kitchen has everything.||The grounds are a photographer's dream. They did their first look and photos here.
