Genoa Bar and Saloon — Restaurant in Minden

This is an absolute MUST STOP for anyone passing through the area on their way to Tahoe or otherwise. I mean, it's the oldest saloon in Nevada and it's just brimming with cool factor. The historic building it resides in just oozes with charm and you really need to spend some quality time looking at all the cool photos and doodads all over the walls. Of course, the main reason to come to a fine watering hole like this is to quench your thirst and I can assure you, they have a fine selection of beers on tap, wines, whiskeys and more and they can make plenty of great cocktails including a Picon Punch - the official Northern Nevada drink! Come with friends if you can as it's always a great time here regardless of what time you show up and at night, there's often live music and tons of people cutting up the rug. Need I say, I highly recommend you paying this fine...

I love this bar

A saloon in the tiny town of Genoa. Glad we got off the highway to have a couple of drinks here. There was a pop up vendor serving food also. I did not partake, although my friends did. Something about saloons and pubs that have been around a long time. There's a comfortable feel even though some may appear to be old. The bartender (I think her name was Lindsay, hope I spelled it right) was amazing. At some point the place got slammed and even though she was the only one there and even though one of the pay stations she was using went down, she managed to keep everyone happy, made house cocktails, didn't skip anyone's turn, made sure everyone was happy, and even let my friends and I try some of the local Tahoe Blue vodka for free. Highly recommend! Will definitely come back if I'm around...
