I stayed at the Pear Tree In overnight for work. I drive for a living, and after having driven for 12 or so hours, my coworker and I finally made it to our stop, weary and covered in the dust of travel. We were ready to collapse in the nearest beds. The very amiable receptionist was probably the highlight of our stay. She was very welcoming, and when we asked where we might be able to find food (as it was about 10:40 and most places besides McDonald's seemed to be closed), she helpfully supplied the nearest open restaurant and said it would be closing at 11, so we could probably head there before moving our things to our room. She helped accommodate us with a few other things as well, and overall made the stay very pleasant. The building is relatively small at a glance, four stories, with a beautiful chandelier that spans multiple floors visible through the windows from the front. There is a spacious, comfortable lounge area in the lobby, and a glass elevator and balconies around the chandelier to offer a full view of it. The only thing I would criticize is that one of the panes of the glass elevator had a sizeable spiderweb crack in it, as though someone had kicked the glass or accidentally hit it with the corner of a trolley. However, in light of the rest of the hotel that I saw being very well-cared for and clean, that isn't enough for me not to rate my stay very highly; an elevator is necessary for accessibility and to have it down for a while, as would be necessary to repair it, could be difficult to arrange. Our room wasn't especially large, but it was a comfortable size, with a nice desk and desk chair at which I set up my laptop promptly. The beds were comfortable and the sheets warm. Unusually, instead of the normal small complementary bottles of soap and shampoo, the shower had sizeable dispensers attached to the wall, which I liked a lot compared to bottles. Since it was a business trip, we didn't do anything like swimming, but the hotel does have an indoor pool. The breakfast was fairly standard for hotels in its price range. There was a small coffee maker and plenty of outlets in the room, and tea bags & hot water available downstairs. Overall, I enjoyed the stay quite a lot and would stay there...
Read moreThis would have been my 5th stay at this particular hotel dating back to when it was the original Drury in Sikeston. Coming in to visit family, I booked here again without even thinking about staying elsewhere. I used my travel card to secure the room, no problems at all. So we show up and I give her my driver's license and the same card I booked with. My driver's license matches my address that is on file with my Drury rewards membership. They also have my phone number and email address. I am told they cannot accept my travel card since it does not have my name on it and it is like a prepaid card. Yes that is correct it is what we travel with and have since 2017. She asked for another card with my name on it. I told her I have one but I refuse to use it because we have been hacked for a very large sum of money and I no longer use my debit card for travel. We only use our travel card that is attached to MY name and social security number through my credit union. We are told no. For informations sake, this same card that has paid for 22 Airbnb's and 17 nights at Marriotts and Hilton's as well as 3 nights in a Drury. All of this in 2021 alone. It has bought airline tickets with 3 different airlines. The same travel card that was used to travel to and throughout Ireland. So I am standing there holding two suits and my bag and being told it is their policy to not allow this form of payment all while people are standing there guzzling Bud Lights while checking in. We promptly called another hotel in town, I gave them my rewards number with that hotel group, they looked me up and said, "we will be glad to have you. I see you normally like the top floor with a king bed". I enjoyed Drury and have made the comment on many occasions that I wish they were in more towns. But this changed my attitude toward this company and I have no intent of ever staying...
Read moreMy fiancé and I checked in last night with Justin. And when we walked in this property, it felt very welcoming and did not smell. Justin was very friendly and helpful at the Front Desk. Informed us their were 2 pools (indoor/outdoor) along with a workout room, which I already knew as I saw property amenities prior to booking. Also, prior to booking, noticed that this property was rated 9.7 by trip advisor.
Once we arrived to our room, it was just perfect. The room was absolutely clean, also, did not smell and the carpet seemed to be new.
The beds and pillows were very soft, the fridge was cold, thermostat was on the wall instead on the unit and it was very comfortable in the room from start to finish. Not to mention, the room and property was just spotless. There was
If you like taking a nice shower, including the perfect temperature, Pear Tree Inn-Sikeston has a rainfall shower head and conviently has the shower gel, shampoo and conditioner in the shower dispensers. (Great idea) and believe all hotels should invest in those.
This morning while attending their FREE hot/cold breakfast, the staff named Lora, acknowledged us with a Good Morning and asked if we needed anything else. She too, was also very friendly and it felt that she liked working for this property.
I would have to give this property, a 10 star. Excellent Excellent Excellent.
Thank you for such great customer service and...
