My family of four stayed here for two nights, a Friday and Saturday, in July 2024. Here are my impressions of the property.

The location isn’t what I’d call convenient, but I did like it because it’s away from a lot of the traffic. We were about 20 minutes from the Mall of America, give or take, depending on traffic.

I have to admit I liked what I saw when we arrived onsite. There was a parking lot right in front of the hotel and a parking garage next door. I believe the hotel was pretty full when we were there, but we never had a problem finding a place to park.

The lobby was large and open, and the first thing I noticed was the bar, although we never went to it so I can’t speak to their menu. To the left was the restaurant and to the right was the check in area. The staff greeted us immediately, and I was able to check in with no wait. The people behind the counter were friendly and were willing to help out as needed. I did get access to the M Club Lounge, which was tucked behind the restaurant and bar. They also generously gave us passes for breakfast in the morning.

We immediately went up to our room and noticed the line of people waiting for the elevator. One of the three elevators was out of order, and since there were 17 floors, we had to wait for several elevators before we were finally able to go up.

The room wasn’t large and had two double beds. I wish they would have been queen beds, but I’m not sure two queen beds would have fit very well. We had a refrigerator, a work desk with a chair and one other chair in the room.

We did go out to the back of the hotel one evening. They have some seating areas around a little pond along with a fire pit. However, it was so crowded, we didn’t even attempt to find a place to sit.

We did eat at the breakfast buffet in the morning, although we had the free passes. Otherwise, I’m not sure the nearly $20 price tag would be worth it. They had scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, fresh fruit and so forth. Both mornings were pretty much identical.

I would consider staying here again, although I’m going to add my areas of disappointment. First, I wasn’t impressed with the lounge. They had a few varieties of canned soda (Pepsi products) and bottled water. They had a couple of light snacks like starlight peppermint discs and yogurt-covered pretzels, which my son said were stale. They did offer an evening appetizer from 5:30 to either 7:00 or 7:30. We went down about 6:15 to discover a few thin slices of a turkey wrap and a couple small pieces of carrot cake. So 45 minutes into the time and they were basically out of food.

The elevators were crowded every evening. We had no trouble in the morning, but at night was another story. That third elevator being down really hurt the flow of people going up and down.

During our stay, we saw a number of families with younger children. Many of them went to the pool. My biggest concern here was that they would come out of the pool dripping wet and then stand in front of the elevator. The hotel put out caution signs indicating the floor was slippery. I just wish people would towel off at the pool instead of running to the elevators.

On the second night of our stay, we asked the lady behind the counter about the wedding. She had said they were using various parts of the hotel, including the ball room, and would then probably head up to their rooms around midnight. Sure enough, shortly after midnight, a group of several people stepped off the elevator and started shouting at each other down the hall. Now the hotel can’t control everyone’s behavior, but it startled several of us awake.

Finally, I wish the rooms would have been a little bigger. It wasn’t terrible, but it did feel a bit cramped.

So I’m clearly nitpicking in a couple of these areas, and I’ve noted that people just do things that a hotel cannot control. Overall, I’m still giving the hotel 4 stars because I thought I got a good value for a clean, comfortable, albeit smaller, room. I’d...

When my husband and I checked in I was disappointed with the presentation of the staff. We walked up to the counter and the staff was in what appeared to be more casual wear than I expected. In no way shape or form should you see a persons bra. Especially working in a hotel, and more so when you have a wedding reception taking place that night.

While checking in we were told our room was on the 5th floor. We went up to the room and while I thought we were given the wrong room, we were. We went down to speak with the front desk and we were right. We were supposed to be in a room located on the 12th floor or higher. We had to go get out luggage, come back down, get a different card and go back up.

Accommodations … The bed and pillows were too soft and broken in. The most annoying part was trying to shower while the door kept sliding open. It makes for a wet floor. The bathroom only had 1 towel hook, which made no sense. Plus, there is no fan in the bathroom room and the humidity from the shower goes out into the room.

We stayed at this location because I used to work in the accounting department at the Marriott West and we wanted to try this location. The pool was freezing!!! There’s no way it was up to the correct temp. The hot tub was extremely small. We were very disappointed when we went to swim and it was too cold. Our main reason for booking at this location was to relax in the hot tub and enjoy the pool. Which was impossible.

We booked a room which included the M Club. Another disappointment was the lack of beverage in the room. There was no diet pop and lousy snacks. The next morning the breakfast was gross.

The worst part of the stay was leaving behind a very special necklace. I get home and realized that I took it off and put it in the counter before I took a shower and never put it back on. I called when I got home and the hotel staff said they couldn’t find it. I highly doubt that was the case. It was left in the room and didn’t walk out on its own.

Also, your driveway needs done work. It’s a dangerous place for someone who has issues walking and can easily trip over the pavers.

Needless to say we were very disappointed...

So, my husband and I stayed here, I have never had staff at a hotel be so rude and disrespectful before. I ordered the strawberries and champagne. When we got to the room they weren't there, called down to the front desk and they said, you had to be here before the kitchen closed and ask for them. Really, I thought me booking the room with the romance package which stated that the room came with them that I already asked for them. Who knew! Then, there wasnt a microwave, we asked for one. They dis bring us one but as you can see in the picture, it was beat up and dented. When we had called down for one and ask why there wasnt one in the room, they said there was a microwave shortage. Please Walmart is just up the road. Then there wasnt any napkins, straws, spoons, nothing in our room. When we went down to ask for them they gave them to us, but as we were walking away the guy at the front desk said should we charge it to their room, and laughed. I complained to the manager and received a free night which I probably wont use due to the fact that I do not want to be treated like that again! They ruined our whole weekend.
