Olive’s Fresh Pizza Bar Edina — Restaurant in Edina

Our family decided to go for pizza, and something wood-fired sounded good.

We found this restaurant about 5 minutes from our hotel. When we arrived, I was concerned because the parking lot seemed pretty empty. However, we found the place to be fairly full, which always seems like a good sign.

We were seated immediately and reviewed a whole variety of pizzas. We had a hard time selecting, and our server explained that the regular pizza (15” square) could be split into two types of pizza while the personal size (10” square) could only be one style.

The kitchen area is open, and we were right next to it. We could definitely feel the heat from the pizza oven.

The pizzas were much larger than we had expected. My wife and I had several pieces left over from our regular size pizza while our adult children ate most of theirs. We all thought the pizza was good, and the thin crust had a nice crisp to it. The toppings were plentiful. I did think the soft drinks were a bit pricey at $3.75, though.

Great pizza and a better staff!

Got a Margherita pizza to go, which was excellent. Crust was similar to a flatbread; thin, airy and crispy but still had great flavor. Sauce and tomatoes had a nice sweetness to them but was balanced out by the fresh basil, mozzarella and Parmesan.

Also grabbed one of their “Hawaiian Treasures Margaritas” during my (short) wait at the bar for my pizza. Nice cocktail, great tropical flavor but not cloyingly sweet like you sometimes run into with drinks of this nature. The bar tender even ended up comping the drink on my tab after I had noticed they didn’t charge me for it. Very nice of him to do that!

The inside is lighted nicely and gives off a homey and comforting vibe. I could see this being a great spot to go to watch a game and grab some drinks as their prices are fair as well!

So good!! Italian fries 10/10!!! light, crispy dough with the perfect seasoning and cheese! The sauce was a little sweet but just right!

I also got the buffalo which was okay like 6/10….I’d hope for a little less sauce and maybe more real blue cheese and not just blue cheese sauce.

But honestly what I was amazed by and what will continue to bring me back is the customer service! I brought my special needs son, and they accommodated him so well. The servers were so kind the pizza makers behind the pizza bar came and offered him to make his own tiny pizza. He got a glow stick at the end. It was really just all the small things that made a huge difference! There’s a fun area where you watch the pizzas in the wood burning stove, super impressive. They have a small little patio as well!
