Writing bad reviews is not something I usually do but my visit to Edina Nails today has stuck with me & I feel I must leave a review. I have never been treated so poorly or felt more uncomfortable for a service that I was paying for and assumed, given they are a mail salon, they are happily ready to give. However, the man who did my toenails today acted as though I had inconvenienced him by coming in to get my nails done. Upon sitting down in the pedicure chair he did not look up or acknowledged me, even after greeting him with a kind “Hi, how are you?”. The second my feet hit the lukewarm water he grabbed my foot immediately & began pushing my cuticles down. No time to soak, get comfortable, or even put my stuff down. He then rushed the entire process and half-assed every step. Once I had picked my colors (I did multiple) he grabbed the selection from my hand & begrudgingly went to get them. While looking it seemed as though he had a hard time finding them & when he sat down made an audible annoyed sound. He then asked what order I would like the colors, I told him, and he went to work. The base coat went on first & once done he jammed my foot back; I must not have put it in the right place. He continued to do this throughout the entire process. I was never able to place them right, as the placement seemed to change each time my foot needed to go under the light. It really felt as though he just wanted to take his anger out by yanking my foot around. Once he started on the colors I noticed they were not correct but I thought maybe they just needed another coat to get darker. He then kept asking the color order which I gave him 5 times. When he got to my third toe he just sat there for a minute, acting o annoyed & looking absolutely ANGRY with me and said “so you want 5 colors?” I replied very nicely and apologetically “I’m so sorry, no, just the 4, ordered- pink, yellow, purple, green.” (I realize that 4 colors is obnoxious but I wanted something fun for an event I’m running & at $55 I should be able to ask for what I want) But, I still was very apologetic and and said “thanks for putting up with me” and then repeated the color order. He again said “you want FIVE colors!!” At this point I was really uncomfortable & on the verge of tears because his behavior was so angry towards me. He then grabbed my toes hard, yanked my foot, and kept making loud exaggerated and annoyed noises as he said 5 colors! Finally it was clear that he didn’t actually get the colors I asked for because he couldn’t find them all. He tried to convince me that the light pink color on my big toe was purple and it took me asking the woman working on my mother, to agree that it wasn’t purple. He then angrily grabbed the sample color ring, that he left behind him, and stared directly, and angrily, at me while I re-found the colors. It felt awful & I am not easily rattled but this experience had me so uncomfortable and truly on the verge of tears. I have absolutely never been treated like this, especially for a service that I am paying for. I’m actually sitting here feeling absolutely ashamed that I didn’t say more or stop him much earlier. So many things went wrong that I overlooked & he STILL treated me this way. I think I just wanted my mother, who was visiting & needed her nails done for a wedding she was going to, to have a great time and I didn’t want to let him ruin it. She had a very lovely woman helping her, who let her feet soak, greeted her, spoke to her, complimented her nail beds, she was so lovely. Sadly, I believe that the man doing my nails must be the owner because she seemed afraid to say anything to him, even after my mother complained to her, while he was grabbing the correct colors, that “he was being very rude”. She instead seemed to try & overcompensate for his behavior which made me even more sad. I hope this helps you make a decision to go somewhere else & to give your money to a salon that treats their customers and especially their employees...
Read moreThe older gentleman ( owner I believe) was beyond rude! I took my daughter to get her nails done horrible experience to say the least. Her water was cold. He didn’t ask what pedicure she wanted. He was really was a big jerk! I was ready to get up and leave when one of the other nail techs gave us both a look of I’m sorry! She was amazing! I said he’s so rude she smiled in agreement.( she understood exactly what I said, but it was clear she could say nothing to him) At that point I felt if we left she would pay the price of us leaving! She was extremely nice and tried to makeup for him! We gave him the colors she wanted and he brought back the wrong colors and when we told him he lost it on her. Got mad and started to argue it was the right one, pulling on her feet and toes. The tech doing my nails said let me see the colors in hopes of help us she couldn’t find the ring of colors. He brought the wrong colors he put the ring of colors where they didn’t go, hoping we wouldn’t notice! My tech said where is it and he didn’t respond. My daughter then pointed them out and said “you left them over there”. He came back with the right color and the death stare as he shook his head angrily staring at her! If I’m paying over 100 dollars the least they can do is paint my nails the right color and be nice while doing them! l hope this review saves you your time, money and the...
Read moreDespite appointments, they were behind. The young man who did my pedicure was great. However, I have nails that are pink and white with an American manicure. They did not have the proper powder for an American manicure. I told the woman who was to do my nails that I did not want my nails to be cut/shortened and also showed her a crack in a nail that needed to be fixed (this has happened before and I have never had a problem getting it fixed). Well, she shortened my nails so much that they do not go even as far as the ends of my fingers, she did not do a pink and white fill, she just coated over what I had and she never repaired the cracked nail. I chose this salon because it has a 4.r rating and my regular technician was called away on an emergency. My nails are now ruined and I have my son's wedding in two days. I will never go...
