It wasn’t an awful stay but I wouldn’t stay here again. The room overall was clean and quiet and there was plenty of room for our pack and play. The front desk staff was friendly; however, I find it incredibly annoying to text and email me to “check in” before my stay and then ask for the exact same things on my arrival. Why did I take a photo of my ID and enter a credit card online? The room had a refrigerator with no freezer and it did not feel like it worked at all. It’s time to seriously upgrade it and add in one with a freezer. It did not keep our food cold which we had to resort to using our cooler and switching out ice in it. There was a continental breakfast which was ok. It did not begin until 6:30 which I found odd since most people here are probably here for the national parks and the gates open at 7. There were also not enough tables and it was a total disaster at 6:30; probably because everyone is trying to beat the heat. The pool was nice and that was probably the high point of staying here.

The hotel is pretty nice but overpriced! It was about $200 a night. They say no charge for pets, but it’s really included in the rate. I could never get the WiFi to work. It would connect without asking me the password. It showed connected but did not work. I had to use my cell service. The breakfast is pretty good with waffles, pancakes, biscuits, sausage, omelettes, bread, yogurt, apples, oranges, orange juice and apple juice. They have instant oatmeal, different kinds of teas, coffee and decaf, coco. I don’t really like instant oatmeal. I prefer fresh made. There was no raisins for the oatmeal. They have 2% milk for the oatmeal or different kinds of cold cereal. They never had any bananas and did not restock the green tea like they should. They put it out Sunday but not Saturday. They battery in the room door I think needed replacement because did not want to respond easily. If I had to get in the room quickly I would lose. This hotel overall is a nice hotel but overpriced.

The service was great, the rooms were very clean and in “like-new” shape. Nothing broken, everything worked, and the amenities were also great: Dove hair & body products in my standard King bedroom room. It really felt like a luxury hotel overall. We were on the 3rd floor front of hotel. There was also additional parking of the side of the hotel that felt safe and with great lighting at nightfall. Location is right off the Main Street. A little towards the opposite side of all the main attractions— not bad. About 1 mile away but if you’re walking it can be a lot for some in the heat or cold. Also the Mountain View’s are not just Mountain View’s. You also get a little bit of the rugged street business view. But the back side of the hotel Mountain View’s are nicer.

I booked for 1 night. Checked in with no problem. The room is ok for the price you paid. Breakfast is ok

I got room 310 which is on the road side. I knew it was going to be noisy but too tired after the all day hike to try to change the room.

Next morning after breakfast at 7 am, I checked with the staff if there is a room available that is not on the road side. ( I do not care if it is a king or queen as long as it is not on the road side) I explained to her I usually go to bed early so I need a more quiet room . The staff said yes there should be something available. But she has to wait for her boss/manager to authorize it.

So I checked out, packed my belongings with me. Hoping that after hiking I can come back and check in. I got back and checked in around 2 pm. this time I got room 344. Went to the room, turned out that the room is located on the road side (310 is on the left side and 344 is on the right side)

Came down, mentioned to the same staff that the room is still on the road side. I found it a bit strange that the staff does not know the hotel layout because I still got the room on the noisy side. It seems like every reservation change needs to be done or authorized by her boss/manager. So I would have to wait till her boss gets in around 3 to see if I can (maybe not guarantee) get a room facing the pool. At this point I was getting upset because the whole reason I checked with her in the morning at 7 am is to see if a room that I prefer is available if not I would have gotten another hotel as there are so many nearby. The staff gave me an option to cancel it and refund me. I was a bit surprised with the option, but at this point I do not want to give the money to this business either. So yes I agreed with the cancellation and let's get it over with.

I asked for a receipt, just to make sure they did not charge me for the second night. AGAIN turned out that this staff can't issue me the receipt. We had to wait for the manager to get in to authorize it....

The staff is friendly and the lobby is modern, bright, warm, and inviting. The rooms are newish and clean(ish). I would not hesitate to stay here if the price is reasonable. However, we stayed the previous night at Quality Suites and that was a superior stay. At Wingate, I was frustrated to learn UPON ARRIVAL that the hot tub would be closed for the season (November 28th). It is not listed on their "amenities" as a seasonal hot tub, nor was there any mention of it being closed. The agent on the phone did not mention that. We are avid hikers and were looking forward to a soak at the end of the day. I feel that is false advertising and this was very frustrating - I would have booked elsewhere with a hot tub. Although the hotel is very modern and generally clean, there were fruitloops under the couch and a used tissue. From about 9:30 - 10:15 some guests were sitting outside under our window (at the firepit) and there were having a normal conversation but the sounds were very loud in our room. I called the front desk (who was very friendly) - but nothing changed for at least 20 min. There was a 'ticking' sound in the closet every 15 seconds. Only was a problem when i woke up at 4:45AM. On that note, I fell back asleep around 5:30 (finally!) and then was rudely awakened by the alarm clock that had been set to go off at 6AM. Don't the housekeepers check these things? I should have - for sure! Finally, the breakfast had only low-cal yogurt with artificial sweeteners - it looked they they got some box of samples or something. Their breads/bagels were all cheap white stuff. The table we sat at had syrup drips on the table...Just not a 10/10 experience. I don't mean to sound so negative, but I hope management reads this. There are small improvements that would have made this stay a 10/10. I would stay here again, but would probably choose Quality Suites if the price were the same. They had everything the Wingate offered but everything was exceptional rather...

Pros: Clean rooms, decently appointed Pleasant Staff comfortable bed plentiful breakfast options fast WiFi

Cons: like every hotel in Moab, this hotel is located on the highway but unlike many, this is right on the far edge of town, on a hill. All vehicles on the highway are accelerating up the hill as the speed limit increases, and trucks are deafening. If you are forced to stay here, ask for a room on the back.

It is located as far away from the restaurants and sights of downtown as possible. A long walk with no sidewalks along the highway. It's a mile's walk to the nearest eatery (Moab Brewery) and there's no sidewalk. You're basically walking on the shoulder. There's Limited food delivery services available in town and no food available in the hotel in the evening, not even a snack bar. So if you want to eat, you're driving.

Poor wood-frame construction. You hear everyone walking around, up and down stairs, and doors slamming all night

Totally inadequate parking. People had to park on the highway and up the rear service road. Parking is a gong show.

Incredibly low water pressure out of the shower head

Our glass shower doors had been removed and replaced with a cheap curtain which didn't properly overlap with the door sill making it easy to splash water around

Finally: Unbelievably expensive for what you get. We are happy to pay luxury rates for the best hotels, but here: Very poor value for the dollar. This place is just above a...
