It was an excellent experience, from the booking and coordination, to the actual guided tour. We are from out of town, and were a large party (11 total, which included 5 adults and 6 kids ranging from 15 to 5 years old). Experience varied within the group, and we were looking for an easy entry level ride where all could get comfortable with MTB, so that all would enjoy, especially with the younger riders. We booked a half day tour.
Booking was very easy and customer centric. I worked with Melissa, who was very detailed and explained their bike offerings. Being new to the area, I made an initial call to discuss the different tour options, and didn't know which trails would be suitable. We discussed (in subsequent emails) the capabilities of my youngest riders and what bikes would be suitable. We ended up going with the entry level tour, which had options for more technical terrain should the group decide to split. With our party size, we we had 2 guides and did indeed split, with the more experienced riders diverging for more technical terrain. Our guides were Kirsten and Julie, and they gave is a thorough run down on the bikes, terrain, and tips on how to handle things. They were very instructive, especially to the younger less experienced riders. Water and snacks were provide, and they looked out for everyone to ensure safety and fun. The kids and adults had a great time, and all who partook are interested in pursuing MTBing on a regular basis. The bikes were legit, Santa Cruz carbon Tallboy 29r, and 5010s with 27.5' wheels. The smaller kids (ages 9, 9, and 10) used 26' Transition bikes (dual suspension), and the 5 year old used a 20' bike with a front shock.
The meetup occurred at Chili Pepper bike shop in the south side of town at 830 am, and we drove out to Moab Brands (Bar M Loop). They transported the bikes in their van, but we drove separately for COVID precautions. After getting set up with the bikes/gear at the trailhead, we rolled out around 10am, and total ride time was about 1 hour 45 minutes, which was plenty for the party, especially the younger kids. There was a small training park adjacent to the parking lot for all to play on as well, which the kids seemed to enjoy the most. Overall, it was a hassle-free experience, very well coordinated, and I am confident all in our party (especially the kids) will pursue mountain biking as a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe took the 4 day White Rim trail bike ride in November 2016. Booking of the trip was so simple but at the same time so informative. We received all the information about the trip including, trip itinerary, map and information about the rental equipment. Everything was done with such a professionalism that it will leave you fully satisfied. The importance for us was that we had a live person to talk to and answer the thousands of questions we had. After all we come from NYC ļ The beginning of the trip started with a breakfast at Rim Tours office. After introduction to the equipment, the guides and the rest of the group we headed out to the canyons. A short ½ hour bus ride brought us to the starting destination. At this point technically the trip was on⦠For four days we rode our bikes up and down scenic places. It took the nature millions of years to build them and only four days of bike ride to admire them (not enough ļ). If you love photography, this is the dream place to be. I can go on and on for the beauty of this place, although you have to see it to believe it. The two guides, Mike and Dave were constantly with us. One riding with the group and other driving the truck being the group. The truck had all of our belongings including endless supplies of energy food and fresh water. During the trip we would made quick stops from time to time and learn about the history, flora and fauna of this amazing place. I was impressed with the guides knowledge and of course out of curiosity I asked tons of questions; for my surprise Mike and Dave always had the answers. Every day we had a gourmet meals, breakfast, lunch and dinner prepared using fresh ingredients by Mike and Dave. If you are looking for a biking trip in Moab, Utah, look no further. Definitely Rim Tours is the company to use. We are coming back! This was not the end of our journey, this was the beginning of something new. Thank you Rim Tours for the best trip...
