If I could ZERO stars, I would.
Upon checking in last night, my family and I noticed the renovations going on which were not disclosed at booking. âKeep outâ and âDo Not Enterâ was posted outside of the stairwells. The pool was out of service (which is why we chose to stay there in the first place) also wasnât disclosed to us. The rooms were clean. The pull out bed was equivalent to a camping pad so donât plan on having your children or another adult sleep on that. Hallways were well maintained.
Woke up at 6:30 am. Walked out to use the elevator. The âconstruction elevatorâ arrived first to take me down from the fourth floor. I patiently waited for the second ânormal/in working condition) elevator to come and get me. I selected to go down to the first floor (main lobby entrance). The elevator went down to the first floor but the doors didnât open. I tried pressing another floor level so I could get out. I then resorted to using the emergency button trying to eagerly get out. No response. I tried two times after that to use the emergency call button with no response. I didnât have any service so I had to try and text my husband and daughter numerous times to let them know I was stuck. At 6:37 am I finally was able to reach my husband who called down to the front desk and let them know I was stuck. While I was trapped in the elevator the front desk lady kept checking on me to make sure I was okay. She was on the phone with her manager as he had the elevator key. While I waited for the fire department and police to extract me Out of the elevator doors, the manager was on the phone and hung up on him. When the manager arrived, he immediately had a sour reaction towards my husband stating that he just wanted something for free while I was still trapped inside.
At 7:20 the amazing rescue team from the fire station got me out. They asked if I was okay and needed EMS. Was told they are there all of the time. None of the hotel staff at that point checked on me to make sure I was okay. The manager blamed the staff behind desk for not knowing where the master elevator key. The fire police stated the key was not in the maintenance room where it was supposed to be. Highly recommend for your safety to not visit this hotel until after renovations are completed. Extremely disappointed in this Marriott but more so with the manager who showed no compassion for the entire situation and instead was bummed he had to come in on his day off. RUDE to say the least !    Read moreWe stayed there approx. 10 days. The staff were very nice and accommodating. However, the hotel is very outdated and falling apart. We moved rooms 3 times, due to no heat (it was frigid during this week too, with temps in the teens). The last room we were in, the heat kept turning off, so instead of moving again, they provided us with space heaters. The staff were very kind and gave us a goody bag for our trouble, which we appreciated. The heat continued to intermittently turn off throughout our stay, so we held on to the space heaters for the remainder of our stay. Same with the gym, no heat.. plus, the gym was filthy! The water cooler remained empty, until I took the empty 5-gallon bottle and removed it from the cooler and placed it next to the door (even the cooler spout, etc. was dirty) The whole gym including elliptical/treadmills)..dirty, grimy, dusty and just gross. Our room was just as dirty. The kitchen floor hadnât been washed in ages⊠I spilled a bit of water and when I wiped it up, the paper towel was black! Dust, dirt and grime everywhere. Dust on the night fixtures, door jams, on top of mirrors, etc. Not good for allergies! The furniture was dirty and loaded with stains, we had to put blankets/sheets over the furniture to protect us from the filth. The couch was all sunken in and the cushions all worn down, so we had to sit on the living room chair and kitchen chairs only. We had no use of the couch. Even the remoted controls were dirty and we had to sterilize. The few tv stations we were provided would go out intermittently with a message of âno signalâ. The kitchen drawers donât close all the way, neither does the dishwasher. The room is off kilter and even the nightstand drawers reopen if we donât hold them shut for a few seconds when we close them. I could tell the room wasnât vacuumed when we arrived. However, all these Covid precautions are supposedly in place, yet the hotel was filthy⊠it was absolutely disgusting. I would have expected much better from a Marriott. However, the main area where breakfast is served, was very nicely maintained and clean. The woman that looks after that area while breakfast is available is very courteous, friendly and on top of things. A great employee! There was a good variety of breakfast food and it was pretty decent. The evening mixers were unexpected and a very nice touch too. On the evening of Sunday, 1/16, the fire alarms went off, we didnât know if it was a...
Read moreI am planning my wedding for September 2nd 2016. I toured the residence in last May 2016 and emailed with the sales coordinator Lisa that I needed rooms blocked for my wedding. Everything was going well and she told me it was too early to reserve the rooms in August but will book them in October. She sent me the contract and I signed not realizing she only reserved 15 rooms for me (note you need 10 for the shuttle and 20 for a complimentary room for the bride and groom). In March I was going over my contract and noticed she only reserved me 15 rooms . I emailed her and advised that I believe I need more rooms because I have 200 guests coming from an hour away. She told me the hotel is completely blocked due to other weddings. I spoke and cried to the manager that I don't understand why only 15 rooms were reserved when you need 20 for the complimentary room! After a half hour back and forth "5" rooms magically became available. This is supposed to be the best time of my life and now I'm stressing and crying because my guests will not have any rooms to stay in. According to the many friends i have who recently got married , the sales coordinators they worked with advised how many rooms to reserve based on where they were coming from and how many guests are invited . I'm extremely upset and disappointed in the service at this Marriott and would not recommend this place to anyone planning a wedding .The only thing they said they could do for me is once the other room blocks are not taken by August 2nd and the blocks are released they will honor the discounted room rate (not a discount and if there are even any rooms available). Also, my room had to be reserved on my room block and other hotels just reserve you a room without a credit card. As of May which my invites have not even gone out yet, all 20 rooms have been booked my wedding party and family. I'm just hoping the rooms are released on August 2nd for my guests who'll be drinking at my wedding !!! Thanks Marriott for making my wedding planning very stressful and worried about my friends...
