The hotel staff were super friendly and the location was okay. Convenient for those who need to visit the base. There’s a convenience store located beside the hotel and a family restaurant behind the hotel. The parking can be a little tight depending on where your room is located but we were always able to get a spot that worked for us. The rooms are dated but have been well maintained. There’s not a lot of outlets and the lighting was very poor but that’s common with older hotels. The shower pressure is horrible, they need to update the shower heads. Bathroom is very small and our fridge wasn’t very cold and didn’t have a freezer like most do. With all that being said, I have to say that the hotel was extremely clean and smelled good. Housekeeping will come everyday to clean and bring fresh towels. The beds and pillows were comfortable, we never had any pain from sleeping on a different mattress than our own (I usually always get back pain.) The only time we had sleeping problems was when the other guests above us were being crazy loud. The walls and floors are thin, so I’m assuming that’s why we could hear them so much. I would suggest asking for a room on the top level if you can do steps (no elevator) They are not pet friendly unless it’s a service animal. The restaurant located behind the hotel is called Backstreet Cafe. The staff there are wonderful and the food is good. The one thing that stood out to me was their prices. Is was cheaper for our family of four (2 adults & 2 kids) to eat there than any other place we had food at. In today’s economy, we are always looking for the cheapest way to feed our family while out of town. The prices are very reasonable for what you get here. We would definitely stay here again if we visit...
Read moreThis place seemed nice on the outside and I was looking forward to my stay here. I am not sure how this location has such good ratings, maybe the "Suites" are nice, but the motel side is not. The proximity to base is probably the only reason this establishment stays open.
As soon as I walked into the room, I was disappointed... it was small and run down. The floor was uneven and there were cracks in the walls. The bathroom area was tiny and there was barely enough room to sit on the toilet. The towels and complimentary items were sparse... the shampoo was in a plastic packet the size of a pack of ketchup. The coffee cups provided were open and appeared to be used. There was only one trash can, which did not have a liner.
The pool and hot tub were more run down than the room. My husband builds pools as a profession, so I know what a pool should look like. The chlorine was so strong it burned my eyes and I couldn't wait to get back to the tiny bathtub to shower.
I thought that I could live with all the negative aspects of this room, until I tried to sleep. The ground floor room sounded as if there was rain on the roof, even though there was a room above. There was a constant noise from the mini fridge and the heater all night. The worst was in the morning when traffic started to head to the base... it sounded like I was sleeping right on the highway. It started at 5 a.m. and did not stop.
The staff are not hospitable and border on being rude. I was very unhappy with my room and was met with no empathy or offer of consolation, when I voiced my concerns. They would rather have me cancel the remainder of my reservation and refund the rest of my stay; which is...
Read moreWhen I first pulled into the parking lot I was a bit disappointed. It has been a long time since I stayed in a non-chain motel, and the exterior seemed a bit outdated. The clerk at the front desk was very friendly, asking me about where I was from and making sure I got all the information about the motel. The room was nice, although I wish the bed was situated facing the tv instead of parallel to it. The bathroom was VERY tiny, as in if you were sitting on the toilet there was no room to shut the door, but everything was clean, the tub was a decent size, and THE HOT WATER/WATER PRESSURE WERE AMAZING. There were four huge pillows (a bit too soft for me; I bring my own) and there were a lot of blankets. I liked that the air/heat unit was situated in the sink/vanity area, so cold air wasn't blowing directly on me all night. There was a list of tv channels (the last place I stayed didn't have one) and there were a LOT of channels to choose from. The desk chair was very comfortable. When I realized I didn't have any toothpaste, I stopped at the front desk to see if they had any. I was ready to go to the gas station next door when the clerk told me no, but she instead directed me to a Dollar General down the street so I didn't need to pay the exorbitant prices at the gas station.||||Disliked · There was an open/used bar of soap by the sink (the one in the bathroom was new in package) and there was an open/used bottle of shampoo instead of a brand new bottle. I informed the desk clerk and she apologized, offering to get...
