Honestly, my wife and I were hesitant to come here as the last Mexican place that was here before this one was not very good at all. There’s a reason why we only went once and why the place was opened and closed within a year. But, we noticed a new sign and within a few weeks they were open, plus we only live 2 minutes away in town, so it fight seem like a bad idea. We looked them up, saw they had an original location with great reviews, so we decided to try.
And my wife and I are so glad we did.
First off, the chips are amazing and fried fresh, a nice crunch, not over saturated in salt. Perfect. Second, they come with a type of black bean dip with what I think is a little queso mixed in, not salsa like many other Mexican restaurants. I was confused, but my taste buds thanked me for trying it, it was amazing.
We also ordered some queso on the side for the chips, and I must say it is the best queso that we’ve ever had, hands down. Flavorful and with the way it dripped after scooping it, you can tell it’s real, melted cheese.
Next up, we ordered a pitcher of margaritas. These are absolutely the best margaritas we’ve ever had. They’re not ridiculously sweet or overpowering with lime taste like many other restaurants are. They tasted fresh, and balanced with the lime and sweetness, definitely not an artificial sugar bomb. Also the pitcher and cups are really cool.
For our entree, we got the birria pizza and good lord it was amazing. If you’ve ever tried Veronica’s it’s very similar to theirs but arguably better. The meat was so juicy and tender, you can taste all the spices and chiles that went into it. The consome was spectacular, I could sip it on a cold day.
To top it all off our waitress was super friendly and attentive, and the place was very clean. For my fellow muldraugh residents, you no longer have to drive all the way to Louisville or stone for delicious Mexican food and birria, it’s right here in town, plus you get to support a local business.
My wife and I very much look forward...
Read moreCame in after work with my kid on one of the hottest days ever. The dining room very cute I loved their cups very ornate Mexican style. I don’t drink liquor but this would be a great place to grab one and snap a photo. First time ordering waitress was so kind and polite despite my questions. She was happy to answer very humble young lady with a kind heart! The menu had huge selection and with me being hot I asked her what to order. She told me the food is authentic Mexican food try tortas or tacos. I order tacos and my daughter the kids chicken and rice to go. It is hard to be nice in heat and they were very kind to me and my daughter. Service was top tier from these ladies. With the heat they were working and being nice and understanding. 5 stars just for their positive attitude. I got home and let me tell you their food is BUSSIN that means DELICIOUS WITH MUCH FLAVOR! Wowza I am looking to ordering from them again. They also serve pozole which is an excellent soup cold season. Oaxacana Mole is very authentic chocolate sauce that is my next order from them. You know a foodie found a gem when your already checking the menu out for next time! Authentic well seasoned with much flavor and many options. Not your average under seasoned Americanized mexican. I love it and they’re willing to make sure you get what you want so you see something not on menu they’ll make it. Mucho amore !! My daughter loved her food and she is indeed a picky eater....
Read moreTaquero Mucho 2 is a cozy restaurant located immediately outside of Fort Knox. I was immediately greeted with a smile. The staff is very welcoming and quickly provided me with insight into available dishes. It felt like family.
Now let's talk about the food; it's incredible! This is hands down some of the most authentic and delicious Mexican food I've encountered in the years. The flavors burst with freshness. The rich heritage of Mexican cuisine is showcased in everything from the generous portion sizes to the homemade corn tortillas. If you happen to be near Fort Knox, make it a priority to stop here—it's truly an experience you won’t want to miss.
Sorry, I didn't get more pictures. I took a bite and simply...
