In a realm where the relentless sands of time mesh with the sprawling wastelands of Needles, there exists an enclave of comfort and luxury, a bastion against the encroaching desolation: the Best Western Colorado River Inn. It rises, not just as a structure, but as a symbol of hope and solace in a town ensnared by whispered tales and creeping shadows. As I approached its gates, the very air around the inn seemed charged with an otherworldly glow, a stark foil to the grim hues of the desert and the labyrinthine alleyways of Needles. Beyond its welcoming threshold, the spectacle of an enchanted garden unfurled—a realm where time seemed to halt, where every leaf shimmered with dew and every blossom murmured tales from epochs gone by. Here, in this verdant sanctuary, even stalwart guardians canines like Rollo could find a moment's respite, basking in the gentle embrace of nature's lullaby. But the true marvel lay within. My chamber, a testament to artistry and magic interwoven, beckoned. Crafted for those who've known the rigors of the road, it held wonders aplenty. A gleaming basin, its hot waters infused with the essence of ancient springs, promised to wash away both grime and memories. An alabaster chest, imbued with spells of preservation, stood vigil over my provisions. Nearby, a series of intricate devices—gifts from master artificers—lay ready to transmute raw ingredients into warm sustenance or conjure brews reminiscent of dawn's first light. Dominating the room was a bed that might've been the handiwork of celestial beings. Dressed in fabrics that whispered of moonlit nights and ethereal dreams, it cradled its occupants in a realm where weariness was but a distant echo. And for Rollo, he found comfort sleeping soundly beside the bed, where dreams of heroic deeds and vast plains awaited. With the heralding of a new day, the inn outdid itself. A grand banquet, rivaling the feasts of legendary courts, spread out. It was a gastronomic odyssey, each dish a masterpiece, a symphony of flavors that danced upon the palate and lingered in memory. Yet, beyond these tangible luxuries, the inn's soul radiated an aura of peace, an ineffable quality that seemed to weave a protective spell around its guests, shielding them from the outside chaos. Its walls whispered tales of hope, its floors echoed with the laughter of countless travelers, and its very foundation promised sanctuary. To every weary soul navigating the enigmatic terrains of Needles: The Best Western Colorado River Inn is more than an inn; it's an experience, an odyssey in comfort and luxury. Let it stand as a beacon, reminding all that even in places shadowed by mystery and challenge, havens of unparalleled splendor endure. Seek it out, and let its magic rejuvenate and inspire you for the sagas yet to be penned. Safe travels.

Here’s the good and the bad and the very bad. The good: The front desk staff who checked us in was very nice, the front office is very nice, and the shower was very nice. Get the picture? The bad: this is an old motel that needs updating. The carpets are ripped, the sofa is ripped and covered up with a coverlet rather than replacing it, there is a mirror in front of the sofa rather than a TV to look at, and the bed is old and sagging in the middle. And this is an executive suite!Figure that out. Just look at the pictures. The very bad: we booked a King executive suite. We were told that someone had already taken that suite and extended their stay. Instead of telling them that we had a reservation and that the motel could move them to another room, we were told that we would be moved to another room. We were given a queen executive suite. No discount. No offer of points. Just a “sorry, we can’t guarantee a room.” When we complained, the manager was quite generous (please note that is sarcasm) by giving us a whole 500 points. Wow-wee! The very very bad: And they have the nerve to charge over $200 for the room. PS The microwave was unplugged and that was because it didn’t work, which I reported to the morning clerk. They don’t serve breakfast in the motel. You have to go next door to the restaurant and the tip is not included. But honestly, we wished we had skipped breakfast because the cook must’ve had a bad morning and most of the food was not cooked enough - runny eggs although ordered fried hard, hash browns hard on one side/soft on the other, the same with the English muffin. Recommendation? Try another hotel/motel in the area if you can.

We got into town before check-in time which is 3pm. We asked if it was possible to check in early, yes for an extra $27.50. Once in the room the front desk called and said the water would be off for a few hours, what? Ok, what can you do, shit happens and the room was clean and the beds were comfortable. Couple hours later I try the water and it's back on, so it's time to get cleaned up for a party and I get my daughter, who is severely learning disabled, into the bath. I go out of the bathroom to get her clothes ready. When I went to help her wash up I freaked, the water was brown with floating stuff in it. I quickly got her out but I didn't know what I could do to rinse her off from the contaminated water. I did have 3 or 4 bottles of water and rinsed her off. I definitely was not going to get to shower before the party! My husband talked to the front desk when we walked through the lobby on our way out. Their response was we could take a shower in a different room. Too late for that! What made me upset was looking over my credit card bills, they actually charged us for a early check-in. Yes we asked for it but we thought there would be water to wash our hands, flush the toilet or take a shower, at the very least, not to mention, what kind of germs was my daughter exposed too? What it boils down to is we had to pay extra for that shit!!

We stayed at this location for one night on 8/26/23. Check in was perfect. We got in just before the 3pm check in time and got into our room with no problems. The gentleman who checked us in was awesome. I am terrible about getting names but hopefully someone who knows reads this and sees the date so he can be told that he is awesome. He was super friendly, very polite and got everything done quickly.

Our room was clean. Even the menus and other informational materials they leave in the room were obviously freshly cleaned. The cleaning crew here, that cleaned room 203, takes their job seriously. Awesome job! The bed was comfy and the air conditioner worked great. I love that the air was left on to cool the room prior to our arrival. It was a brisk 117° when we arrived, so the cool but not freezing room was perfect. The hotel is located by train tracks but we did not hear any noise. I sleep like a log but my husband will wake up for a mouse fart in the other room. He says he didn't hear any outside noise.

Breakfast was awesome. You get a voucher to go next door for breakfast and if you are lucky, there is a lady named Monday working. She is amazing! I wish i could have taken her with me and had her for every restaurant experience i have going forward. She was so on top of things. She made sure everyone got exactly what they were looking for and also made sure all of the items were replenished before they ran out. Fantasic attitude. Even my husband said to be sure and leave a good review for that lady because she was awesome.

Overall we had a great experience. With all of the polite and respectful attitudes, we couldn't believe we were at a hotel in california. We will definitely...

Avoid at all costs. Our visit was less than standard to say the least. After a brief night I woke to bugs on and in everything, we had disclosed we had 2 dogs several times and they have attempted to charge us 3 different amounts in $250, $200, and $150 in addition to our stay fee. Tyler the front desk guy is more than willing to falsely inform others that the dogs were not discussed and a manager who although was supposed to get back to us in 24 hours has still not reached back to us in a professional manner. We were afforded $10 off our stay do to the bugs and after talking over the phone they tried to upcharge the original agreement for the pets by $10. The front desk girl is awesome but her coworkers are very unprofessional. I've informed them that we are escalating to dispute with the bank, the manager is supposed to reach out to us (again). I'll be dropping this review on yelp as well. Don't let this roadside inn stick their fingers in you pocket and go somewhere else. The extra drive passed it is well worth avoiding this place altogether. Best Western, please do an investigation on your managers!

Update: The highly unprofessional manager who refused to speak with us at every opportunity who is accusing me of making threats. As stated before, Diana your front desk girl is the only good thing about this location. We'll be sending the president of your company a direct letter due to your mishandling of events. Once again it is with my sincerest hopes that you and Tyler are investigated for the mishandling of business affairs. Perhaps if there was an attempt to communicate we wouldn't of had to escalate the claim to dispute with the bank, kindly...
