The Lake Inn at Mt. Sunapee — Hotel in Newbury

A true mom and pop with a beautiful view of the lake. The owners Steve and Cindy made our stay here a great experience. In talking with the new owners they have been remodeling and improving constantly and it showed. Our room was nice sized, had A/C, a small fridge, TV and very clean. The bathroom was small but remolded and super clean. The owners were eager to make sure you enjoyed your stay and provided us help with directions and dining suggestions. The ribs at Bubba's are fall off the bone good! If you are coming up with a boat just check ahead as there are only a few spots for boat parking. If you like to sit out at night, request a low number room as they are on the upper floor and have screened porches. There are coffee, donuts, cereal and fruit in the mornings complimentary. They have a fire pit and sitting area below. Very close to all the attractions or to just sit on the patio overlooking the lake with your favorite beverage which we did. After reading reviews we decided to book here for a weekend get away. The view was very nice although there is no lake access that we were made aware of. While the room was clean it was definitely dated. The bedding was nice and the mattress was comfortable. We were on the bottom floor and the room was musty and damp perhaps because of recent rains. The furniture is worn and the bathroom very tiny. The patio is really the asphalt walkway outside the room and the light above our section was burned out. There was an ice bucket in the room but we never saw an ice machine nor did we hear about a continental breakfast as a number of reviewers mentioned. It seemed if you wanted to sit by the fire pit that you would have to build the fire yourself. For any of these an information sheet in the room would have been helpful. I randomly picked this place online while looking for a getaway. My bestie and I went for one night. The rooms on the top floor have a screened in private deck and that is the main reason I picked this room. Beautiful view of the lake!

Very peaceful and the room was super clean Well maintained outdoor area as well

As soon as we pulled up an owl flew into the tree in front of the car, very cool and it seemed to solidify I picked the right place ❤️

With tax the room was $139.97, two extra large twin beds

The bathrooms are small, but clean.

I called the Inn direct me to book this room 3 weeks prior and the check-in was a quick and easy process.

We walked from our room to the local Salt Hill Pub, it took maybe 7 minutes.
