From the time I walked through the door with my young son, I felt like I was in a Cannes- level indie film about picturesque New England. ||I was absolutely blown away to find a lounge on the first floor that rivaled the comfort and unique touches of a private residence: a modern wood- burning stove, 24 hour coffee station, an actual record player and a set of eclectic vinyl to select from, board games cleverly stashed in an ottoman, books in every corner which were just as interesting as they were gorgeous. Rec room and arcade room in the first floor were no different. ||I was equally surprised to find that coffee freshly made and hot when I came down at 4:30 am! And it was GOOD.||Rooms were thoughtfully decorated and beds were supremely comfortable. Shower was blissful. Hot, great water pressure, premium bath products from a company in Vermont. It was especially nice that full- size bottles were provided.||The pool and pool room were spotless and warm, we enjoyed our swim and I found myself looking out on the patio at a tasteful fire pit area and wishing I'd asked them to turn it on. ||My room was extremely quiet as well. I was surprised since I know they allow dogs.||I would recommend bringing breakfast bars/ snacks, and the in- room mini fridge and microwave make this option even easier. ||That's the end of my real review. ||But I was so invested in the "movie extra" feeling this Pinterest dream environment this hotel offered that I asked Chat GPT to help me with a movie script to match my experience. So here you are- enjoy!||Set in a charming, campy New Hampshire mountain and lake town during the vibrant fall season, "Autumn Reverie" follows a diverse group of characters whose lives intertwine over a weekend of unexpected connections.||Bill Murray plays Harold, a quirky, retired professor who has returned to his hometown to rediscover his roots. His dry wit and philosophical musings provide comic relief and depth as he navigates ⁵ of his youth.||Michael Cera portrays Jamie, a shy, aspiring writer who is in town for a literary retreat. He struggles with self-doubt and finds inspiration in the eccentric townsfolk, especially in a chance encounter with Harold, who becomes an unexpected mentor.||Selena Gomez plays Mia, a spirited artist looking to escape her fast-paced life in the city. She’s home to reconnect with her childhood friend and to find solace in the serene surroundings. Her vibrant personality brings energy to the small town as she explores her creative side.||Chloe Sevigny is Lila, a local coffee shop owner with a mysterious past. She serves as the town’s unofficial historian, sharing stories that weave the community's fabric together. Lila and Mia develop a close bond, exploring the themes of friendship and personal growth.||As the leaves turn and the town prepares for its annual harvest festival, the characters face their own challenges—relationships, ambitions, and the search for belonging. Through laughter and heartfelt moments, they learn that sometimes, the most profound changes happen in the most unexpected places.||The film blends whimsical visuals with a nostalgic soundtrack, creating an atmospheric experience that captures the essence of fall in New England while celebrating the beauty of connection and the courage to embrace change.||So... who will YOU find? Come here...
Read moreFirst off let me start by saying we are NOT complainers. I never write reviews on anything but I honestly feel like this review will hopefully change some of your minds before booking. With that being said, do not, I repeat, DO NOT waste your money staying at this establishment. You're better off spending the extra $500 (or more) to stay across the street at their "sister" hotel. Two years ago we stayed (when it was Best Western) and it was decent. I wouldn't say spectacular, but decent. Ironically enough we're in the same exact room two years later, which is a room with 2 king sized beds on the basement level (which they call the first floor) - walking into the room I was taken back that not a thing has changed since then, not necessarily a bad thing, however, when I put my luggage on one of the beds I noticed something on the pillow case.. It was MAKE-UP! Foundation, black eyeliner/mascara & GLITTER all over a pillowcase. Clean much? If that wasn't enough, it was on yet another pillow case on the same bed. So I set some other things down on the desk and notice the coffee maker looks a little off, that's because there was USED coffee left in it. I honestly wish I were making this up. So, I decide to shower.. Unroll the bathmat - to ants. Ants & grass in the towels. At this point I'm so heated over the negligence this place has displayed, when we brought it to their attention, nothing was done, honestly I don't even know if there was an apology. I did have to ask for more towels, which to my surprise didn't have ants or grass but nail polish! Oh! Also, don't plan on bringing any type of food or drinks you want to actually stay cold- our refrigerator barely worked. Also, I'm not sure what "free continental breakfast buffet" means to them, but stale pieces bread & cereal with warm milk left out on the counter.. Is not my idea of breakfast. So we tried the vending machines.. Well they were broken 2 years ago when we stayed, and guess what?! Still broken. The whole 8 items in there were covered in dust. And the soda machine (which they say water bottles available 24/7 in their handbook : complete BS) every single item in that machine was sold out, and has been since we started staying here. It honestly looks like Mountain Edge bought this place, changed the logo & name on the handbooks and then absolutely let it go. Trying to sleep was also fun, because since you're in the basement, everyone walking above you sounds like a wrestling match. There's also a lovely wet spot on our bathroom ceiling which you can hear drip when anyone takes a shower. We stayed for 5 nights: Thursday- Tuesday, on our way back to our room Sunday afternoon, our key all of a sudden didn't work. So we went upstairs, told them, without a "Oh hey, this is why.. Or 'I'm sorry for that inconvenience .." The guy hands us the key back and says 'Here ya go, you'll be good until Tuesday' - We booked through Tuesday from the absolute beginning, why would they have to reprogram our key? Seemed silly to me. I know this is super long & negative but hopefully the right person reads this and changes their plans because I wouldn't recommend this...
Read moreWhat a horrible experience, I was attending a wedding 30 minutes south of this place. Me and a friend were splitting the room so he booked it on his card and paid half. He asked if I could pay the other half cash when I arrived and they confirmed. They would not give us an early check in, so check in was at 4pm but the wedding started at 3. So we went to the wedding and had to make it to the hotel by 11 before everyone left for the night and I could check in, in time. I got on a shuttle from the wedding and arrived at 10pm. I walked to the counter and pulled out the 151.32 cash exact and they refused to accept the cash. I said I don’t have my wallet it is in my car at the wedding. She wouldn’t accommodate me and told me too bad even tho I had the remaining due on the counter in cash with a card on file already. So I read her an old card number (with no license to match) and it declined. I asked what am I suppose to do I’m 3 Hours from home with nothing but the cash for the room. She didn’t help at all and was forcing us to sleep in the parking lot if I didn’t come up with a card. I started to call emergency contacts for help and got my mother on the phone. This lady refuses to take my mom’s card without an id to match after she just ran my first card without an id. We were stuck, close To sleeping in the woods at this point. I convinced a stranger to run his card for me and I paid him double in cash. Also this hotel had a E. coli break out and was not telling any one. The reason I know this is because I walked across the street to the other hotel who has a 2 Night minium and couldn’t book me a room but they had complementary waters and signs on every door warning customers of the break out while Blue bird was hiding it with zero warning. Finally I asked for a Manger and at this point the manager (over the phone) threatened to cancled the whole reservation because I was trying to check into someone else’s room (my best friend) they also never asked for his id to match his card when he booked the room over the phone. Thank god for this stranger who covered the balance and got me into a room under his card even though it cost me twice as much money. Thankfully me, my friend and wife were not sleeping in the woods over Night. I really hope This business fails Horrible for the returned karma...
