Motel 6 Parkersburg, WV — Hotel in North Hills

I’m not a big review writer but I feel people should know about this...alot of us have families that with corona we don’t want to put in danger and I think that it makes it uncomfortable to have to somewhere unfamiliar and then to have someone be rude or look at you differently it’s very discouraging, It’s already a hard time and so much negativity in this world! We have been here for a couple of weeks and honestly this is the first hotel that has welcomed us with open arms! We are part of the LGBTQ 🏳️‍🌈 community and I have a few tattoos and we have a dog, literally every other hotel we have stayed at has judged us by our looks( we have been in hotels for several months) and it doesn’t feel good, so when we came here we expected the same but to much surprise it’s been a home away from home! There is a yard and our dog gets to go out and play, there’s a covered sitting area with a grill and picnic table, the rooms are cozy and inviting all Hardwood floor so very convenient, the manager Mike is awesome and probably the nicest person you could meet. At first I was intimidated and thought he was rude and once again you can’t judge a book by its cover because he is the most genuine caring person. If we need something he tries to make sure he can help. He goes out of his way to make sure we as guest are comfortable and that we are getting treated properly! Housekeeping was so delightful she will have conversation with you and will have you laughing, front desk clerk Veronica has been very welcoming and nice! We lock our keys in our room and no problem they don’t get rude about it they just help! And guess what it’s the LOWEST RATE in this area! If we ever have to stay somewhere it will be here hands down! We highly recommend anyone coming to this area please check this place out you will save a great deal of money they are the lowest rate around but personally have the best service!! THANKS MOTEL...

Me and my mother booked a room with Motel 6. We called the Motel to make the reservations… we were then Transferred to reservations.com…. Without our knowledge thinking we were talking to Motel 6 we booked the hotel… only to find out the $58/night was actually $85 with all taxes and fees… I was told this was non-refundable to find out there was a hidden $20 service fee… when I questioned it I was told it’s because we used reservations.com and not motel 6 even though we had called motel 6.

After driving and arriving to the motel I was met with a not so warm welcome. I inquired about the transfer but before I could even explain what happened was told, “that wasn’t me and I can’t transfer you never called me what number did you call?” After verifying the number so was repeated the same thing without even being able to speak.

Then I was told room 24 that’s fine… except I was asked you have a dog right I said yes he said don’t let your dog scratch the furniture I said I won’t She’s a 25 lbs Doxie that’s 5 yea… and was cut off and told don’t let her cut up the furniture I said okay… then he said don’t leave her in the room alone I proceeded with why would I leave her alone and he said I don’t know just dont do that… I said okay.

He requested my card for the pet fees which made perfect sense… we get to the room there’s a rough smell but it is a motel so that was fine… until you walk in and find wet brownish stains on the sheet scratches all over the floor I call to report the scratches as I didn’t want to pay for something I didn’t do and was told that’s from another animal and he was rushed and still was not letting me finish complete sentences I didn’t even get to mention the 2 soft spots in the floor in front of the bathroom and the sheets…

We stayed in the room and checked out the lady on day shift was super sweet… but over all this was a horrible experience. I won’t be going...

When I rented a room for my son, they kept my id..they kept it, they did not make a copy, that was on a Fri. so when it was time for him to check out , I met him at the room and it was probably cleaner than it was before , but I went to the office and the person that was to inspect the room by 10am , had not and they refused to give me my ID until she made it to the room. We were pressed for time and the person at the desk was rude and finally, she came to me with a paper to sign and my ID and by then , I was so livid , I grabbed my ID out of her hand and stormed out. The room had a leaky air conditioner and it did not keep the room very cool, also the room looked as if it was not very clean ever. I also seen cockroaches and I am unsure but that is where the roaches and bedbugs go to catch a suitcase out of there because they don't keep it very clean and they can go to private homes and start over there ! It is pet friendly and I am sure the fleas are going to stay on the pet because why would they want to be on that filthy floor ! Thumbs down..I did hear it changed owners but that is probably just to get people that had the same experience that I did, maybe try it again. I would rather bathe in a creek and pee behind a tree then pay to...
