I booked this room so I could be a little closer to my Dr. appointment on Wednesday morning. I got there Tuesday evening about 720 pm. The first issue I had was handicap parking. Only 3 spots on the hotel side that I could see. All were taken by the time I got there. Thank goodness, there was an open spot up front. Second issue, the young man behind the desk. No name tag, no "Hi, or welcome to Harrah's". He was rude, gruff, needed to comb his hair!! Slapped my key card holder on the counter after checking me in, and bluntly said, "second set of elevators on the right". I've never stayed there before, so I really had no idea where I was going. I managed to find the right elevator and got to my room KC239. Ugh. So, the carpet needs replaced bad. It was pulling up in the middle of the room. Enough so that you could trip on the rolled up section. Lights are dim in the entryway and bathroom. For people that are older and need more lighting to see, don't stay here. Lights were very dim and made it hard to put make-up on evenly without looking like I had splotches or to much foundation. The bathtub had black hairs in it. Male hairs! I took pictures of them. Dried cantaloupe seeds were on the wall next to the toilet by the trash can. The vent was covered in dust and dirt! Housekeeping obviously does not dust because I swiped my fingers across the tv desk and you could see the layer of dust. The cabinet where the frig is, nasty. The doors on the cabinet wouldn't shut completely. There was some liquid draining from the frig. It wasn't even on when I got there. Had to turn it on just to use it. The chairs are crushed velvet blue, and need changed bad, or majorly cleaned. I went down to the front desk, spoke with Sarah about the nasty bathroom. She was going to move me, but I had already unpacked enough that I was settled for the night. So she gave me a food credit. Thank you. The rude, bad hair guy was there, so I didn't mention to her about his attitude. Checking out was okay. Jazz was at the desk. I started with asking about my food credit and how to cash in on it. Then I dove into the bad hair desk clerk from the night before. I explained how he acted, etc. Her excuse was, " Well he's new" No, I'm sorry, nothing. Just, he's new. My response was... "I don't care. I am a guest. He should have been more cordial. He acted like he didn't want to be here. Never smiled. Never said thank you. Was rude, gruff and needs to comb that hair if he's going to be working with the public in a place like this. He didn't have a name tag on either so I could file a complaint against him." Still her response was, he's just new. 🤦♀️ I haven't received a receipt for my stay. I got my food credit yes, but very disappointed with this place. I wouldn't say the value was worth it. Poor service. The room was nasty. Bed was hard. Pillows felt like the old style pillows, pieces of foam shoved into a case. Very uncomfortable. I wasn't asked how my stay was, was there anything else they could have done to make my stay better, no thank you for staying either. Very very...
Read moreThey have started (or will be starting soon) to charge truckers to park now. With no way to comp it. Semi trucks only rvs and others don't have this upcharge. There are no amenities besides one sad lonely trashcan I can see. No shuttle to the casino entrance, no bathroom or shower in the lot. Hasn't been repaved or upgraded in the 1.5 years I've personally been coming here. Why would I pay to park when I can pay at the truckstop and get more? So I have a chance at winning on the floor ?
15 a day at about 20 spots is 300 a day in possible revenue. 300 x 365 is a tad over 100k a year. This is what we expect to gain by charging our customers to park? Now I'm not a super high roller by any means s but I am a diamond elite member. That's 125k of play thru the machines to get that status. I am your parking lot mathematically speaking. And I can tell you I came In last night and didn't even want to play that much because of this. It's not the money it's the principal of the matter. I tipped out 60 to the server and other employees so the 15 isn't what gets me. We as truckers get Nickle and dimed by shippers, receivers, brokers, lumpers and truck stops all the time. This place was an escape, free from the "work" grind and get out and try alittle chance. I don't need to be here, I choose to be here. And if I'm gonna be forced by a ticket or a tow bill why bother ? No other property I've been to charges for parking, valet sure but general parking I've never seen it. This isn't a truck stop stop trying to act like one. The casino floor isn't profitable enough ? Isn't it expected that a customer who uses your lot is going to come in and play ? Are you going to be charging the regular cars parking fees or just mistreating us for our career choices ? Yes we are heavy, yes we take up more room but my dollars spend like the rest of your patrons no?
How didnwe think alienating our customers was ever a good idea ? If I go out on the floor play 2k and come back to a ticketed or even a towed truck, think I'll ever wanna come back ?
No amenities but they might be coming later? Gonna have to pay someone to clean the bathroom and restock it, clean the shower, provide towels etc. Etc. This is a casino, we know what to expect when we park here. Place was always a good spot to land after "normal" truck stop parking hours and get some much needed rest. My happy place, dependable. This is nothing more than a money grab in my eyes and disappointing.
Had a big get together with other truckers for my birthday next month where we are bringing right about 15k to have a good relaxing weekend with between the 6 of us. Not a single one of us was thrilled about this and plans are changing to a property that has alittle more respect for...
Read moreFirst time here in Kansas , we drove here from Dallas Texas .. I’m a big gambler and always spend thousands of money. when I first came in the front desk lady Stephanie was extreme rude and very unprofessional, I had asked her a question and she told me “ don’t speak when I’m speaking “ ( & I didn’t intentional over talk her or cut her off ) & then I had my granddaughter with me and she made it very clear that we are not allowed anywhere else in the hotel , she specifically told us “ & you only better take that baby to and from your room to the restaurant ONLY “ . She was not welcoming at all nor was any of the staff she also rudely slide my my id back to me instead of handing it to me . There was a male who was dressed in a purple polo shirt wearing a Harrah logo on it and I had asked him if he was the manager and he said no I am not and just kept walking , he couldn’t even stop and allow me to ask him a question , nor showed any concern that I was asking for a manager . It feels like no where there cares to give you their time of day. So then we go upstairs to our room & right away from the escalators the hall ways we’re very dim and had a bad smell. The hotel is not what it seems . Online they present it as a very nice & elegant hotel, I booked for a city view and there was no city view , nothing but air conditioners . Kansas City side of the hotel is very old , & smells , you would have a better stay at a days inn then on the Kansas side hotel . We went back down and expressed our concerns & They just told us to turn the air on and let it circulate. & told us it would be an extra 50$ fee to be moved to the Las Vegas side , but online it is only 20$ extra . ON TOP of that there was an additional 100$ deposit plus resort fee ( for what resort ) ? The Las Vegas side of the hotel was a little bit better but the bathroom a was dirty , there was someone else’s hair still left in the bath tub and the mat they had so you don’t slip had mold on it and they had the towels sitting on top of the dirty mat , also the shower had stains on the glass and dried up soap on the floor and wall from whoever showered there last , also the windows had bird poop all over them . Drove 8 hours here just to be treated so rude . Overall I don’t think you get your moneys worth on the hotel side plus staff is extremely rude . So I wouldn’t recommend staying . But we did stop by the restaurant they have inside called winning streaks and the staff there was much better and super nice , host was super nice and both bartenders Ben and Chris were very welcoming and...
