Perhaps this was just me, but during my experience staying at this particular hotel, I had the epiphany that it was my life's goal to never die in Arkansas.
Despite ever having spent less than a few hours in the state, it was my time at this motel/hotel that I knew life in middle-America was not for me.
The staff was unabashed with the contrasting signs stating 'No Smoking' albeit the crude sour odor of cigarette smoke was overbearing to the lobby. Although my room was said to be complete, staff came by to 'fix up' my room after I'd already laid down.
The lobby attendant, although he looked like he was in college, finishing up an MFA degree in Chemistry, looked so destitute and out of place. The employee at the Burger King, across the way, looked like a methed-out Jason Bateman, racially profiling the only black-man in the restaurant, which made me so uncomfortable, I couldn't even finish my then-cold Whopper.
Once I'd managed to have the room to myself, all I could think over and over in my head, was how miserable I was. Even though I was a minute from the cross-country freeway I was destined to be on, I've never felt so far from home. Staying in a place with such sheer reckless stagnation, I felt so trapped in a time and place so unfamiliar to any life I've ever been apart of, I feared for my life.
My stay at this hotel brought about such grave emotions, that I awoke at 10pm, earlier than I wanted, and left the hotel in the middle of the night, recklessly finishing my journey across the country, even though I was severely sleep deprived. I left this hotel, destined to avoid the entire state of Arkansas, with the intent to never return. I can remember very distinctly the moment I walked down the hall, pitter-pattering my footsteps on the bowling-alley designed carpet, joyfully making my way back to my car to begin the difficult drive; it was a walk of life.
Congratulations, this is the worst hotel I've ever had this displeasure of staying in. Your un-royal two-story bastardization of a "hotel" may stand on the cursed grounds of the Louisiana Purchase, but I take solace in knowing I will never have to return. Good...

Heads up, this is not a Days Inn anymore. When I arrived I called the desk and asked if it was the Days Inn. When the receptionist said no, this is the Galloway, I said "Oh, because you were referred to me by the Little Rock Kenworth dealer". Upon hearing that, she immediately told me there were no rooms. This was at 12:30 in the afternoon, on a Wednesday with 3...
Read moreRoom smelled terrible as if i was walking into an ashtray. My clothes and towels smelled awful. After staying there. However their staff is very nice and pleasant they came up an ozoned my room the next day to help get rid of the odor. It worked for the most part. The pool was kinda dirty and the filters were not on. They did have a bar on site bout a dollar more than you'd pay off site. Other than the room smelling horribly like smoke wen i arrived it was nice. Walmart down the street and pizza hut, taco bell, sonic, and mcdonalds down the other way if...
