I needed a hotel for a quick 3 night getaway to visit my husband who is working out of town. I booked this hotel based on location and the great reviews. I couldn’t have made a worse choice. I spent over $600 to get 2 nights of no sleep and not being able to use the amenities. I was traveling with 1 adult child, 1 underage child and myself. The first night was great. We were impressed with the kickback dinner and the customer service from the employees. Once we went to our room things went downhill pretty fast. The room was not the cleanest. There were multiple bodily stains on the couch and curtains. And, the headboard for the bed was covered in dust. There were also finger or toe nail clippings in the closet. The 2nd night my children tried to go to the hot tub but were ran out by a large party who would not make room for others and were playing extremely offensive music from a Bluetooth speaker. Unfortunately, this group ended up being our neighbors on the 5th floor. They were up partying all night long. Playing music, running down the halls, yelling and slamming doors. My grown son is autistic and sensitive to sound so as you can imagine this was a pretty big issue. The next night, we encountered the same problem. I finally called the front desk around 11:30pm and was told that it would be taken care of. The party continued much longer and I decided to move my kids into my bedroom and crank up the air to drown out the noise. 2 adults in the bed and 1 adult and 1 teen on the floor is not ideal sleeping arrangements for over $200 a night. The next morning the hallway smelled of pot. I know that other people were affected by this large party as I heard complaints of others in the halls and at breakfast. It is very disappointing that your hotel allowed a group of people ruin other peoples good times. My family and I will be back to O’Fallon multiple times as my husband will be working there until December. The Drury will not be on my list of hotels to stay at. I will take my money elsewhere. I do have to commend the staff at this location. Every single person that I encountered was extremely nice. The front desk, maids, breakfast/dinner workers and bartenders always had a smile on their faces. I did appreciate that after the rough...
Read moreSo far haven’t stayed a whole night but reception was lovely, very kind and plenty of information regarding dinner and breakfast times. Upon entering our room, my fiancé and I discovered a friendly beetle in the room hanging out on the wall by the window, as well as a pair of Ladybugs on the windowsill above the A/C unit (sadly one of the lady bugs seemed to have perished long before we arrived, but I let the other ladybug free. Unfortunately the beetle did not survive the encounter as my fiancé is not a fan of bugs. As we were showering my lady noticed some suspicious looking stains on one of the provided towels, so we ended up using that one as the floor towel. Other than that, so far everything is great. Cable tv works well, internet works well, and the room comes with complimentary alcoholic drinks available at the times specified for dinner (3 drinks max included with room charge). The beds are comfortable, sheets are clean, looking forward to a good sleep before we continue our journey South.
Will update further in the morning upon leaving for a final verdict.
(Update - morning after check in) Slept pretty well, wasn’t a fan of the A/C not having an option to stay on as the silence can be deafening, but I digress. Overnight was a good rest, woke up earlier than the hot breakfast so had to wait a little for that, tried to make my own breakfast in our room using the microwave (DO NOT USE THE MICROWAVES THEY WILL BURN ANYTHING YOU PUT IN THEM). I figured I could heat up some milk to make cream of wheat but the coffee cups they supply cannot be microwaved, and I even tried to use a Ramen Cup which is supposed to be microwave safe but not even a whole minute in and the cup started to burn on the underside. Another thing we noticed was our room did not come with any trash bags in the bins. Not sure what’s up with that.
All in all, I’d still give this a solid 3/5 stars. It’s a nice hotel, despite the friendly bugs we had and the lack of trash bags and stained bathroom towel. The staff are lovely from the interactions we have had, the breakfast is about what you’d expect for most continental breakfasts offered by major hotel chains. I would come to this hotel a little more prepared but would not avoid staying here, especially for...
Read moreI took my kids to St. Louis to visit the Gateway Arch, zoo, and Grant's Farm, and the Drury Inn was the perfect place to stay. The location was ideal—close to all the attractions but not right in the busy downtown area. A major plus was the free parking, unlike downtown hotels that charge for it.||My kids loved the indoor/outdoor pool and hot tub, and I appreciated that there were plenty of towels and that the hot tub was actually hot! Every staff member we encountered was friendly and well-trained in customer service. Two front desk workers went above and beyond, making excellent recommendations for our family. It was clear they were actively listening and understood exactly what we were looking for.||We stayed in a double bed suite, which was perfect for our family of five. My teen boys appreciated having their own space in the separate room with the pull-out bed. I liked that they were still in our suite, but I could close the door so my daughters and I could sleep without hearing them. The room itself was spacious, quiet, and very dark at night—great for a good night's sleep. The sheets and pillows were comfortable. While I prefer a firmer bed, my daughters loved the soft mattresses, and my boys said the pull-out sleeper was about what you’d expect—comfortable enough!||The breakfast was excellent, so much so that we ate there all three mornings. I appreciated the variety of eggs and sausage, which made it easy to have a protein-packed meal without loading up on carbs. The biscuits and gravy were delicious, and the coffee was great. I also loved that water was available all day for refilling water bottles.||We even ate dinner at the hotel two nights, and the variety of food at each meal was impressive. Originally, we planned to stay for just two nights, but we were enjoying our stay so much that we extended it to three!||If you're visiting St. Louis with family, I highly recommend this Drury Inn. Great location, excellent service, and fantastic amenities made our trip...
