Owl's Nest Lodging — Hotel in Oakhurst

We stayed at the Owls Nest, Ponderosa cabin in May, 2014 with another couple and consider it to be a great find! It is a free standing cabin which was clean, well furnish with full kitchen, private bed room with 2 separate bathrooms on the lower level and a private loft bedroom with two beds. The living room area was large and comfortable and the deck on the back was equipped with charcoal grill and picnic table.||||The location was excellent, on highway 41 about 1.5 miles outside Yosemite's main south entrance, and our hosts, Barbara and Robert, we're very nice and helpful, having lived in the area most of their lives. Right on main drag.owner was there when we pulled in.gave us a map of area and lots of info. We stayed in the chalet. I thought we would have to use AC a lot but didn't. No maid service. Towels extra pillows etc provided. Only sink is in bathroom.found that odd. If only one why not put in kitchen? Full size frig and microwave. Plenty of kitchen utensils. Spotless clean. Nicely decorated. TV instructions followed to the letter and still messed up. No return call when we left message for help. Very close to park entrance.. a little pricey but you pay a lot more inside the park. Small deck for sitting and has bBQ grilL. One parking spot. Stairs up might be a problem for some. We stayed at Owl's Nest on August 2014. ||We are family of 5. The layout of the Ponderosa Cabin was perfect! we were downstairs and the 3 kids upstairs, each had his own bed. Clean cabin, organized, lots of towels neatly put in cabinets, soap, dishes, charcoal grill in the back with a picnic table. The front yard with the grass was a big success! as the kids could play outside and didn't have to stay in the cabin. There are a few chairs in the front as well so I could watch them.
