I am not sure how this place is allowed to exist. We were desperate to find housing near Yosemite, and when we got there, realized why there were such terrible and horrifying reviews for this place- they are all true. This place is not only infested with bed bugs, but the owners are extremely rude. When we got to our room, we found hair on our bed, we found a spider web on our bed AND lastly, we found a bed bug on the mattress. It was disgusting. We went to the lobby to let the owner know- and he said "I don't believe you!" when I told him what I had seen. He came up to the room, and still was in denial that they had a bed-bug issue. Instead, he said that people like us were just looking for excuses to get a refund. It was ridiculous. After he saw the bed-bug, he pressed it with his finger, to confirm it was real- and blood came out!
We had booked two rooms at this place- and had found the bed-bug in one, and they refused to give us a refund for both rooms, not realizing that there was no chance we would stay at a hotel that even had a single bug, or was overall so dirty and gross. We had lots of back-and-forths with the owners- and they continued to be extremely dismissive and rude towards us- and even threatened to call the police (which makes no sense because we were not at fault). We told them they could call the police - because what would the police do? We had done nothing wrong, and just wanted a refund because they had $400 for two rooms (which is an insane price for a room that is dirty and has bed-bugs). Please avoid visiting this place. Even if you need a place to crash before getting to Yosemite, stay further way. It's...
Read moreSo. I have had quite the hotel experience visiting my old town of Mariposa in the past, and they have not been good AT ALL (looking at you Monarch Inn)..however.. this one changed the game.
You see, last year when I came down, I stayed at Yosemite Inn's sister hotel, the dreaded Monarch (seriously people, stay away from there, its bad) and did not have a very good time. My review on their location even prompted a wonderful response from management promising better things on the horizon. So, when I returned to Mariposa this year for a wedding, I was hoping things would have changed. They did not.
And when I decided to extend my stay in Mariposa, The Monarch could not deliver, and that is when I was sent to their sister hotel, The Yosemite Inn. And let me tell you, it was like night and day.
In the beginning, there were a few system maintenance issues that prolonged my check in, but that was an understandable issue considering the weekend I was visiting was a very busy one.
But thats it. That was the only minor issue. Yeah parking is small, but its a small town, so what do you expect?
The front desk staff?? AMAZING. They are generous, attentive, kind, welcoming, and FUNNY. They are all just so wonderful, I could stay and talk with them for hours. Seriously, thank you for making my trip what it was.
The room? Clean, comfortable, relaxing, and large. No noise issues, no smells, no stains, no water pressure problems, no ghosts, nothing. The best room you could imagine. I was floored.
This is going to be my ONLY spot to stay when I visit and I couldn't recommend this place more. It is the epitome of hospitality. Thank you...
Read moreThe A/C wasn't working in the room after a 100F degree day. We arrived at after 10pm and the room was baking, way over 100F. They didn't have any other available rooms so my travel companions and I decided to leave after the front desk staff said they could issue a refund. I was notified a few days later however that the property's managers/owners were refusing to issue a refund.
The front desk staff was nice, but whoever manages the property seems to lack both any goodwill towards their customers and any basic instinct for good business practices. I'll be doing a chargeback on my credit card anyways.
Edit: I cannot reply to management's response below so I'll append this as an edit instead. Firstly, although I understand that the A/C worked the day prior and the day after our stay, that doesn't change the fact that the A/C was not working at all the night we were there, which the onsite staff verified. Also, there were no other available rooms that night of any type (it was a long weekend). If there had been, we would have happily switched.
Secondly, I was told that you would be calling me within a few days but whenever I called the office, I was told you were unavailable - you seemed to be purposely avoiding me. You have my contact info if you'd like...
