We've stayed at Bonita 3 times now, and probably will again in the future. We come to town for softball and make it a vacation at the same time, so sometimes our check in and check out days don't line up with condo rentals, availability. There have been some ups and downs with every trip to the Bonita Beach, so I'll list pros and cons separately, mostly focusing on this year, when we came down for a week in July. Pros: The price is great and location in proximity to beach is fantastic. The balcony, while small, has a nice view but could use a small table (we always get a premium view room). The parking lot is big, well lit, safe and secure, with street parking also available on both side streets, rooms seem larger than your average hotel room, and we easily sleep 3 adults and 3 children- with room for a weeks worth of luggage and necessities. Beds are comfy, i love the feather pillows! - except the pull out sofa bed, which is not very comfortable at all. Full sized fridge is always a plus, we won't stay in a room without one. Housekeeping came by daily and took the garbage and wet towels and made the beds. A few days, i even heard housekeeping in the hallway at 6am. Most of the staff were really nice and friendly. My kids loved the game room and spent a lot of time playing ping pong. Oddly enough, they also enjoyed relaxing in the 3rd floor sitting area lol. Cons: This year's room's air conditioning was stuck on arctic, and even when I turned it up to 73 it was still freezing. Last year's room's air was broken (along with several other rooms), and we had a portable air conditioner with a hose stuck out a board nailed to the wall at the sliding glass door (which also meant that if someone was eager enough, they could have pushed the board out and gotten into our room), some of the front desk staff were rude and made it seem like I was bothering them any time we needed something (the only one I can remember specifically is an older woman who worked in the morning), the laundry room is disgustingly dirty, with only one (dirty) washer and dryer in operation- if you can call what that dryer does operational. I asked at check in if the laundry area had been renovated, as I was told last year that it would be. I was told that it wasn't renovated yet, but repairs were made and all washers and dryers were working, which wasn't accurate at all. The same out of order signs were still on the same washer and dryer in the room, and the dryer vent is so filled with lint and garbage that I'm not sure how it hasn't caught on fire yet. Whenever housekeeping came, they took every towel and wash cloth in our room, but didn't replace them, so every day I had to go to the front desk to get new ones. When I made a comment about this at the front desk, the woman was less than friendly, and told me this is standard and was in the paperwork I signed at check in. I never got copies of anything, so I dont know for sure. No big deal if it is, but still mildly inconvenient. One more thing I almost forgot to mention, we had a red ant issue in our room that we didn't notice until they took up residence in a box of a dozen donuts. Overall, what you get for the price you pay is totally worth it. It's super convenient to be so close to the beach without spending a fortune. It's right across the street from Dunkin, if that's your thing (it is OUR thing lol), right down the block from a convenience store/ gas station and a quick drive to Acme. I recommended Bonita to two other softball families this year, and they both stayed there when we did. Any time we come to OCMD and don't stay in a condo, we'll be at the Bonita Beach.

If I could give zero stars, I would. I've been vacationing in OC Maryland for years now, and this was by far the worst hotel experience I've ever had. We had issues our whole stay. Firstly when we arrived at our hotel room we noticed our sheets were stained and had hair on them. Our trash was full, and we found someone's leftover snacks behind the microwave. The toilet, sink, and shower kept clogging. Also, our security lock was broken. Also, our AC would not get colder than 72 °. We notified the front desk of the situation, they then sent housekeeping and maintenance. The lead housekeeper arrived and did not make a great effort to hide her frustrations. As we pointed out the issues maintenance showed up. When we tried to explain the AC situation to maintenance the housekeeping lady chose to talk for the maintenance personnel and stated that if you keep your doors closed and turn the AC no lower than 65 it'll be very cold. Maintenance chose not to look at anything and left the room, and it never got colder than 72°and our security lock was never fixed. A few days went past, and we were very surprised and discussed to find a roach crawling up the wall beside our bed. At that point we we're so frustrated we went down to the front desk to speak to the manager. She's acted as if she was shocked and stated that this normally doesn't happen. To accommodate us, we were given a whole new room, being that we weren't trying to take roaches home. We had to repack everything to take it to the 4th floor in the middle of the vacation, and no other accommodations, refunds, or discounts were made. While moving to the upper floors, another guest told me they were being moved as well and that his sons just got moved before them. When we got to the new room everything seemed better. The only issues I noticed was the sink, and the shower was clogging. The door struggled to open each time when I entered, and again, the security lock was broken. A housekeeper gave us a plunger to fix their common issue. We returned our old key cards and let the front desk know about the security being broke again, and we were told their maintaince person wasn't available. This experience really took a toll on our families' bonding time and was so disappointing. WelI, I would mention more, but this list is long already. Please stay at this location at your own risk. I've dropped some photos below. ⬇️ This is just to update on this since the owner decided to comment and pretty much accuse me of lying and pulling photos from the internet. I can assure you I am not lying and these same images were shown to the staff. Look closely, and you'll see that it's their walls and their locks and theirs. There are lots of other reviews on this exact website that have some of the same claims. The owner can't even take responsibility but yet denies and throws accusations. I can see where the poor maintenance and management come from. I've added two more credible photos that show it was taken with my phone, and at the time, I vacationed there.

Stayed here over the weekend, the place is a dump with rude workers. It started off waiting in line to check in and I hear a male voice from an office behind the desk, assuming the manager, talking about a guest and how dumb and stupid she is bc her son left something behind but not sure where it was. I guess a lady from housekeeping was in there bc she was chiming in too. She then walked out to the front desk mumbling and talking to herself about the guest while looking on the computer. When I got to the room it wasn't what I was expecting so I went back down and was told you booked 3rd party I can't help you, you need to deal with them not me. You should book on our site and you wouldn't have this problem. I'm still a guest regardless of where I booked and now the rant. The rooms are filthy. It's the 1st summer weekend and you think they could of touched up the walls so they are not scraped and holes in them. Maybe clean and do some dusting. I had some sand on the table, it was there the whole weekend. That's how good housekeeping is. I've attached some pics to show the upkeep of the rooms. The mirror is cracked in the bathroom, with the sink falling away from the wall. The shower knob slid a good 6 inches and it leaked the whole time I was there... A constant drip drip drip. Beds are uncomfortable and should of been replaced years ago, decor is from the 80s and very tired looking. Went to the pool only to find no more towels and I guess no one comes in to replace them or pick up all the towels that are just laying all over the place. Half the lights in my room didn't work. The complimentary dish soaps and bathroom supplies were used and half full. I don't want someone else's used junk... Am I sleeping on their sheets too? The parking lot was horrible. Many spots taken up by them for storage so guests can't even park on the lot, you have to find street parking. The WiFi sucks, I used my mobile data the whole weekend bc it was faster. They give you a little pack of coupons with your keys, they expired in 2018 so that was a waste. So don't worry, I won't use their website to book in the future as I won't be coming back and recommend that you don't either.

August 24, 2016. I would stay clear of this hotel! There are a lot of better hotels around that area for around the price you’d pay here. This hotel is not worth your troubles believe me and we have stayed in many hotels. Their where a number of things wrong with this Hotel. I don’t even know where to begin. Let’s begin with the building itself. Its an older outdated building. There is no ramp to the lobby and check in. So if your older or disabled your out of luck here. Just stairs. They do have carts for your luggage but you’d have to push them outside down the stairs in the front near the street then go around to the parking lot in back. Then after loading your luggage onto the cart you again have to lift a heavier cart up the stairs which makes no sense at all. Now the hallways are very warm which other readers have stated. The farther you stay towards the end of the hallway the worse it gets and the only elevator is at the opposite side. All there is ,is a ugly dirty stairway full of sand garbage, and broken glass which leads to the parking lot with broken hanging security cameras. So security is out the door there. Found dirty diapers in parking lot and dirty panty’s that sat their 3 days later after we left. The room we stayed in wasn't very clean in fact not clean at all! Sheets looked like they hadn't been changed like they just fixed the bed and had hair on them. Talk about Nasty! Even had to ask for cleaner towels. It didn't smell very pleasant either and found food crumbs throughout. That is what others had also stated. AC in room not that great either. The fold out couch bed was old and filthy didn’t have sheets inside. Just an old lumpy thin mattress with springs coming through.. The neighbors next to us kept us up a lot with their partying and laughing. While the neighbor across the way kept going in and out and slamming their door. Even though I requested a quiet room. I see that wasn't possible or not noted. They don’t seem to care either way.The television wasn’t all that either had blurred stations and not many to watch anyway. They give you this tiny ice bucket like a cereal bowl not the norm at all was dirty like someone used it for that. Old fridge and dirty ol microwave. Ice machine wasn't working even on our floor and couldn't get into pool area since door wasn’t working and had to go through arcade room. Then discovered our keys cards couldn’t access them .So we had to go back down to the lobby had to have room keys checked and had been disabled for some reason so had them rekeyed. Where also kids stayed and played belonging to one of the maids. Once we entered the Arcade room, saw that most of the arcade machines where not working. Just one and the Claw game to pick up stuffed toys and a ping pong table with one paddle. That was disappointing for our boys. Let me tell you guys about the pool it was a big disappointment! It had sand all around the pool and sat in at the bottom of the pool. Never seen that before! As it was also on the cool side not heated. Nor did they even have a Jacuzzi. Peoples left over trash was there as well and pool toys, cut off shorts, slippers, etc. Overall their where lots of drawbacks, inconveniences for our much anticipated stay. Id definitely stay elsewhere...
