The staff at Gulf Hills is superb!!! Each person goes out of their way to make your stay the best it can be. I would especially like to commend Rophyel who, when I couldn’t find how to get to the pool, stopped what he was doing to take me down to the gate and explained how to get in. He was so friendly and kind. Everyone at the desk greeted us with smiles and a greeting every time we came into the lobby, and would ask if we needed anything at all. They have coffee, cappuccino, and mochi along with some pastries in the lobby, as well as several interesting trivia card games in the comfortable seating areas (and a piano!). The bartender remembered my husband and I after one trip to the bar, and she made a special non-alcoholic drink for me that was refreshing, delicious, and not too sweet. I just can’t say enough about the wonderful staff. We were there for an event, and only stayed one night, but it was our second stay, and I didn’t want to leave. The pool temperature was perfect, and it was big enough for me to do laps. It felt like a little bit of heaven, so refreshing. They have pool accessories like noodles, and other floating apparatuses. The umbrellas for all the seating around the pool is great for our hot days. I love that they have Keurig-style coffee makers in the room, and nice big ceramic cups for the coffee. They provide two cans of alkaline water in the fridge. My only wish for the room would be to have a small table on the second side of the bed. They have renovated the rooms very simply and beautifully. All of this was for a price we could afford. It is located on the water, and very close to downtown Ocean springs, with all kinds of cute shops and restaurants. I can’t wait to stay here again, and I highly recommend it for a wonderful,...
Read moreOur stay in one of the king-size suites was for a full week. The room had a king-size bed, a small table and two chairs for dining, one chair for lounging and a small area with a microwave, dishwasher, sink, cooktop, and coffee maker. The room also included dishwashing detergent, dishwasher pod and a scrubbing sponge. The room had the best air-conditioning I have probably ever had at any hotel.
Every encounter with the staff was very pleasant. After we first arrived, we went to the front desk to ask for more coffee pods (we drink a lot of coffee) so we wouldn’t have to depend on them being replenished daily. We were given a large amount of GREAT coffee that lasted throughout the week.
While the swimming pool is very large and was very clean, much of the property could use some updating, but this would not be a detractor for us wanting to return again. It did not in anyway affect the level of comfort.
The only reason I’m not giving a 5-star rating is that the small refrigerator in the room froze all of the contents that we had put in there after doing a little grocery shopping. Once we figured out how to adjust the temperature on it, the items that we put in after that remained nice and cool. Also, for a king-size suite, we felt like there should be a larger coffee maker than the one that only holds enough water for one cup at a time. Also, there were not enough dishes in the kitchenette area to eat more than one meal at a time. While there is a dishwasher in the room, it was never used as we had to wash our dishes every time so we would have them for the next time.
Because of the quiet location and the pleasant and accommodating staff, we would definitely stay again regardless of the...
Read moreI evacuated here from New Orleans during hurricane Ida with my dog and cat in tow. I learned of the history of this amazing place upon arrival and I'm grateful that it was purchased in 2019 instead of demolished as planned.
I cannot say enough about the staff at this hotel. The word accommodating doesn't even begin to do justice for these amazing people. They made sure I was comfortable and cared for throughout my entire stay, which was extended five times. They provided us with home cooked breakfast and dinner every night after the storm. They even provided us with in house entertainment some nights such as a shrimp boil with live music and a poolside DJ just to help us relax a little. Members of the community came in with all sorts of donations for the guests such as pet supplies, diapers and toys for the children.
The hotel itself is clean and comfortable with a gorgeous pool and large golf course. There is no doubt that I will be coming back to stay here many times over. No hotel staff has ever been more gracious or welcoming than this one right here. The general manager, Salman Chaudhry, has been absolutely sensational throughout this entire process and has become what I consider a true friend. Cameron at the front desk has bent over backwards to help me more times than I can count at this point. I am forever indebted to them and the rest of the staff and can't wait to see them again under different circumstances.
THIS PLACE ROCKS!
