We stayed at site 25 over 3 days in July. Overall we (family of 4) enjoyed our stay, and the kids enjoyed fishing in the lake. But the burrs and the lack of drinking water were a problem. Some people also run their generators at night which was annoying. The map showed a faucet near our site but it did not work. The sites at Little Thunder campground (about a mile away) had flush toilets, showers, and drinking water tho.

Also Danke für nix.

Spots 28/29 Camp sites are inexpensive and spacious, but COVERED in goat heads/ stickers. Not even a clearing for a walking path or to put a tent/camper. So bad my 80 pound lab wouldn’t go off the rug I put down. In our shoes, in our clothes, and often in our feet- it was terrible. Bathrooms are consistently busy and water access is very limited, often busy. Love the lake, won’t camp here again.

Stayed on campground 33, absolutely covered in goat heads. There was no space that wasn’t covered in them. No shade on this spot or trees, it was too open. Other than that the lake was overly smelly bathrooms close to us by the boat ramp were a mess, looked like no one gave it any attention. Maybe it was just this day but I’ll give the lake another look but not this side of it. At least clear off the goat heads and it would’ve made things so much...

Unless you're camping on the beach or doing full hookup / electric it's not really worth your money. We aren't from the area so we had to buy a state park pass for 24 hours in addition to paying for the site which totaled around $52 CAD. The tent area is not well kept and the showers are very far and you will need to buy tokens. We wish we had saved our money and just stopped at a rest area on this...
