I do not recommend this hotel unless it is the only one available. I requested early check-in due to my flight time when I arrived and was told it would be no problem.
I was then told upon arrival that I would have to wait until 4pm. I decided to take a nap in the parking lot and wait it out. Around 4pm I arrived again to the front desk and was told that my room wouldn’t be ready for some time but they would call me when it was ready.
I returned to my vehicle to wait it out once again.
I woke up 45 minutes after 4 and proceeded to the front desk. I did not receive a call but was relieved to find that my room was finally ready.
Most of my stay was mostly comfortable with the exception of my final night in which a large gathering of people collected in the main area of the building for what I assume was some sort of special event and proceeded to be boisterously loud well past midnight to the degree that I felt as though I was sitting in the crowd even through my room door 2 floors above them.
The security lock on my door was busted when I arrived so it looks like someone broke through the door and it hasn’t been replaced yet.
I requested a late check-out at the onset of booking my stay in order to avoid a 5 hour wait for my departure flight and was again told that it was no problem. On my final day there I called the front desk to confirm my late check-out and was told that I now had an additional 30 minutes to checkout.
In short, is it the worst hotel? No. I’ve stayed in much seedier and less comfortable arrangements on many occasions. It was significantly more comfortable than spending the night in a rental car but significantly less comfortable and with less of a level of customer service than its competitors in the surrounding area. I would say that it should definitely reside near the bottom of your list of potential boarding options if you are traveling in the area simply because the operation of this establishment falls well below the standards upheld by other hotels in the same brand even when price...
Read moreI have stayed in dozens, of not hundreds of IHG Properties over the last 15 years.
This stay was way off the norm of IHG.
First, the property appears to be an older building. Buildings get old. Not a biggie. Clean and old is ok, Dirty and old, not so good.
The bathroom, in particular the tub, was dirty. Like it wasn't draining properly. Lets put it this way, I could tell the previous user had dark hair.
The next morning I figured it out. The drain was nearly clogged. How could housekeeping not notice the tub doesn't drain? Also, there was only luke warm water available. As a result I my first shower was cold and standing in 6" of dirty water.
I notified the front desk and it was fixed and cleaned that day.
However, not all was well.
When I returned to my made up room the bed looked like somebody had been laying in it. The pillow was crushed up and the bed spread was wrinkled. Weird.
On the third day I returned to my room to find a do not disturb door hanger. I did not place it there. My door hanger was still in the room. The room was not cleaned. Maybe somebody was playing a prank. But, looking up and down the hall there were piles of dirty linens in front of several rooms. This was 10:00 pm. Did the staff quit in the middle of servicing the floor? Weird.
When I asked for morning coffee in the lobby I was told I could buy some from the restaurant. I know this is not a HIE but they should have coffee for clients in the lobby.
So, very unlike most IHG places I have stayed. There are several other Holiday Inns in OKC. I would recommend staying at...
Read moreA hotel that is out of pillows and the front desk with attitude. To start, this hotel was the recommended for OKC pop culture con. I am a vendor for this convention and am already spending a pretty penny just to sleep for a few hours. Stepped out to check into the hotel, and bikers were standing right next to the front door smoking. Then when I went to the front desk, the little girl behind the front desk had some kind of attitude from the get go, smacking on her gum and not even politely handing me my card back, she just sat it down on the counter instead of just taking the two seconds to hand it back to me. She put me in a room all the way in the back on the second floor, not asking if I had a preference on which floor. Then later about 8:40pm, I called down from my room to ask for more pillows because they just go flat and have no support. She proceeded to tell me they did not have any extra pillows, I doubt it. Personally I think she didn't want to do any extra work. This hotel is not worth the price, and mediocre at best. Will not be staying again. Go somewhere else and spend the same amount for something nicer. I travel a lot for personal and work trips. I have never stayed at such a terrible holiday inn before today. Now on top of everything the AC is not keeping up with the room. I am so done with this garbage hotel. I have to keep adding onto this review because of how awful this place is. It is 11pm at night and parents are letting their kids yell and scream all around, on top of adults being loud and yelling. Truly the worst...
