I stayed at this Renaissance property for about 10 days while attending a business meeting. Overall, the experience was a mix of great service, thoughtful amenities, and a few notable areas that could use improvement.
⸻
Room & Comfort:
The rooms appear recently renovated and are equipped with a mini fridge (big plus), a safe, iron, and a clean, compact closet. Beds are decently comfortable—I’d rate them 7.5/10.
Housekeeping was great: they didn’t throw away any personal items I left behind and consistently provided bottled water after each cleaning. However, cleaning is done every 3 days unless you request it, which is a bit less convenient than the daily service at other Renaissance hotels.
Lighting is inconsistent across rooms—some have bedside lights and great coverage, while others feel noticeably dim. A bit of consistency here would go a long way.
Also, the room doors slam loudly when released. It would be great if management could install soft-close hinges or dampers—those slams in the middle of the night sound like a gunshot going off (I might’ve accidentally added to the chaos once myself!).
⸻
Noise Issues:
If you’re on the 9th floor, be aware: the noise doesn’t come from the hallway but from the ceiling/roof area. It can be surprisingly loud and disruptive, especially at night or early morning. Combine that with the very thin walls—you’ll hear phone calls, alarms, and conversations from neighboring rooms—and it can really affect your rest. A simple reminder at check-in about quiet hours (e.g. 11 PM–7 AM) would help manage this.
⸻
TV & In-Room Tech:
The TVs are outdated—no smart TV features. In 2025, most guests expect to log into Netflix, YouTube, or Prime Video, especially since the room setup includes a nice couch facing the TV. This was a disappointment compared to other Renaissance properties I’ve stayed at.
⸻
Bathroom & Water Pressure:
Bathrooms are clean, and amenities are replenished when housekeeping visits or upon request. That said, the water pressure fluctuated wildly. One day it was normal, and the next it felt like being blasted by a fire hose. Possibly related to construction, but it’s worth addressing.
⸻
Bar & Lounge Areas:
The main bar on the 1st floor is well-staffed, fairly priced, and a great space—until there’s an event. Then it turns into a noisy club-like atmosphere. If you’re trying to relax after a long day, it’s a tough setting. Plus, the bar closes around 10–10:30 PM, which is early considering business meetings often end at 9. Extending closing time to 11 or 11:30 PM would better serve guests.
Interestingly, there’s a bar on the 9th floor that seems closed. Reopening it as a quiet lounge for elite guests or those who want a calmer atmosphere would be a smart move.
⸻
Other Facilities:
The 9th floor also has a small “amenities” area with coffee and a few seats. It’s functional but underwhelming. With a bit of improvement, it could become a great co-working or relaxation space.
⸻
Staff & Service:
The front desk team was fantastic—friendly, helpful, and consistently professional. Housekeeping also deserves praise for attentiveness and care.
⸻
Parking & Accessibility:
Parking is tricky. Due to near-daily events, the main lot fills up fast. Guests often have to park in the back, but the back entrance is blocked off during events. This forces you to walk all the way around to the front—frustrating, especially in bad weather or with luggage.
⸻
Final Thoughts:
This hotel has a lot going for it: updated rooms, great staff, and solid cleanliness. But noise issues, outdated tech, inconsistent lighting, and limited parking access take away from the overall experience. If these areas were addressed, it could easily be one of the better Renaissance...
Read morePoor service. They did not have the type of room available that I made a reservation for. Management seemed like they didn't really care that I was not happy about this. I waited over 45 mins to get a room tat was not the type I had a reservation for. My first room was filthy with dirty carpet and floors. The bathroom was disgusting with pubic hairs in the tub and urine one the toilet base and outside wall of the tub. The second room was dirty too with carpet not vacuumed, hairs on the tile floor and in the tub, and a buger on the inside of the dingy shower curtain. The shower head leaks while running causing the ceiling paint to bubble and peel. Upon my complaint about the first room being filthy I was given another room that was not clean but the manager Nikki and a maintenance person did a little cleaning on the spot to try to clean the room for me. Throughout the hotel there is trash and debris. The hotel lacks proper maintenance. This is supposed to be a category 4 hotel with Marriott but it is far from that. I was appalled by the condition of the building and the attitude of the two managers on duty when I checked in. I spoke to the general manager about my room not being available. He was apologetic but even though there actually were room available in the type I reserved he would not put me in one. The front Mngr Nikki although she had a less than stellar attitude she did offer to comp one night of my stay and give me complimentary "club level" access. The GM also gave my a $45 credit for the restaurant. I ordered a ribeye steak for room service that was delivered by the restaurant supervisor. He was wonderful with an outstanding attitude. I stayed here for three nights and stayed over two weeks at two other Marriott hotels in downtown OKC during my there week plus trip to OKC. I expected the GM, Chase Rollins, to follow up with me after I expressed my dissatisfaction with not having the room I reserved and then the attitude of the front Mngr. The GM never followed up with me to see how I was or if I needed anything. Overall this experience staying here was very disappointing. I expected a high level of customer service and a high standard of cleanliness and upkeep from a hotel of this category. I also called Marriott customer service to make a complaint and I was told a Mngr would call me back in San hour, but I've yet to get the call and that was over 3 days ago. I took pictures of the filthy rooms. The urine on the cracked toilet and bathtub outside wall are the most disgusting part. I am wondering what kind of cleaning they actually do here. I will not stay here in the future and I do not...
Read moreI was greeted professionally and taken care of at eh front desk without issue.
That's where the good feeling stopped.
I realized when I got to the. elevators, that one of them was not working My stay was for 6 days, and five nights, the second elevator never worked during my stay. This added frustration every time I used the elevators.elevators.
Once I got to my room, the first thing I did was to turn on the TV, the entertainment system the hotel runs to give programs guide and information was not working correctly. I called the the front desk and they sent up Gee. He wasted over 45 minutes of my time messing around, and finally came back and said that the whole system was "messed up". When it was not fixed by Tuesday, I called down and they sent him up again, this time he tells me that he left a message for his weekday engineer, but never followed up, and did not know if or when the system would be fixed. (When I called the front desk, I spoke to the desk manager, Nikki, she claimed that Gee never told her the whole system was not working properly.)
The next morning when I woke up and showered, I realized that my steam fee mirror was not working, on my way out to the office, I let the front desk clerk know, Jonnie, said he would take care of it. THIS ISSUE WAS NEVER FIXED.
I also let him know that the paint on my bathroom ceiling was pealing and falling off.
Also on Monday, I wanted some ice, the ice machine on my floor was so broken, it was turned off. The hotel dud not even have the courtesy to put a sign up saying it was broke, and where to got get ice. It seems to me that they did not care to take care of customers.
I was also treated to some of the most repetitive and non appetizing food ever at your concierge lounge. The kitchen made the exact same thing every morning for breakfast. Bad eggs, over or under cooked bacon, and some sausages that were over processed when they we re made, and basically tasted like nothing. The evening meals were even worse, just no flare, or even flavor.. Over-cooked was vegetables, were almost always on the menu. When I was coming there every other week in 2016 & the first part of 2017, the evening food was always interesting, pot-stickers, satay chicken, coconut shrimp, things that made me go "this is cool".
On my 4th day, I called down for shower supplies,( I was earning points and took care of my room myself), and asked for 1 each of shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and lotion. The guy...
