It was not a good experience at all. First of all, my stay was from Thursday to Monday. I had to constantly ask for them to fix my key because it kept not working properly. It wasn’t working at all. On my last night, I got no rest because of the noise from the room above. I fell asleep around 6:30 AM. Then, at 11 AM, I was woken up for “maintenance.” I opened the door and explained that I had already booked another night so I could get some rest. I was half awake, and she said that was okay but to come out at 3 PM so we could recheck you in. I was already stressed out, and an hour later, it was security. She was banging, screaming, and then let herself in. I was asleep on the bed, hearing her try to remove the security chain. It was such an invasion of my privacy. The night before, I had already packed my stuff to leave in the morning before checkout due to the noise from the room next to me. I was exhausted. I finally got up out of fear and opened the door. She was saying I needed to leave and immediately put her foot out to keep the door open. By this point, I was wondering where the front desk girl was, and she was hiding in the corner. I asked her what the problem was when earlier we had discussed 3 PM to recheck me in. I had an alarm set for then to know when to get up and recheck in. After we had discussed everything, the security guard was acting disgustingly, and the front desk lady was just listening to her and doing whatever she said. I went back to the room, and the security guard let me in, repeating her same actions. She barged in, put her foot down to keep the door open, and I was trying to put on the clothes I had laid out for myself to leave that day. I told her I needed a few minutes so I could leave, but she insisted to the front desk woman that I wasn’t going to leave. I was super stressed out, grabbing my stuff, and demanding she let me shut the door so I could change. I didn’t want the security guard watching me change. I have videos and everything. Anyway, the front desk told me to come back at 3 PM to check in, so I left and went to eat. I returned by 3:06 PM, and she was checking me in. In the middle of the process, I wasn’t saying anything except “okay” and “yeah.” I showed her the screenshot of how I had paid, and she’s like, “You can’t stay.” The security called the manager and said, “Do not rent,” which made no sense because I had already paid for the room, and the front desk knew this. They have no proof, and she’s calling the manager. He and his wife show up, and she explains her side, while I am just saying, “It’s for a night so I can get rest.” The wife gets behind the desk and starts pointing fingers and raising her voice. I am leaving after being screamed at, basically attacked by four people by this point—three being staff and earlier by the security guard. As I am walking out the door, he says, “Get the hell off my property.” Absolutely terrible service. It’s disgusting, and I can’t even get my refund. I wouldn’t recommend staying here with these people. It was awful, and they're disgusting as human beings. A complete invasion of privacy and no respect...
Read moreHad to be in OKC for my son's surgery. Found this motel online. The price and reviews seemed good. When we got there, the check in was great. No problems. The room was poorly lit but it was late and we were trying to get to bed quickly so I didn't look around very well. My daughter sat down on one bed and instantly got up saying it smelled like vomit. I dismissed it and told her get on the other bed. My husband went to get in the shower and said he had to wash out the tub first because it was grimy and had mold around the jets (that didn't work ). I laid my son on the bed to change him and then laid down next to him. I instantly smelled strong urine. I jumped up and pulled back the sheets and mattress cover. I entire mattress was stained in various shades of urine color. I checked the second bed and it was the same way. As we started packing up to leave, my husband notice the chair in the corner was stained as well. With light shined on it, it was obvious that it was old crusty vomit. In process of grabbing our things, the hotel menu was knocked over. My husband picked it up and noticed that it had brown clumps (?) on the cover along with a pubic hair.
At the desk, I informed the clerk we were leaving and I wanted a refund. He asked why. I explained the condition of the room and told him it was completely unacceptable. He stated I was lying and demanded I follow him to the room. He opened the room door but refused to step inside. Again he stated I was lying and I was "one of those". He stated we were just trying to use the room for shower and then cheat him out of the cost of the room. I pointed to the bed and told him it smelled strongly of urine. He stated I was lying, there was no way it smelled. "It is only stained but it does not smell." I asked him if he would sleep on the bed then. He didn't answer my question but continued to say I was trying to cheat the motel. Back at the desk, he told me that if the manager was there, the manager would never give me my money back. But, he was going to be "nice" and give me back 50 or 60%. I told him that was unacceptable. I wanted my full refund. He finally agreed but stated he would not give it to me. He would give it to my husband. As my husband came up to the desk, the clerk began arguing with him, insisting that we were trying to cheat the hotel. He stated we had been there five hours. ( We had checked in at 10 pm and it was currently 11 pm.)
The whole experience was horrific. Then to be called a cheater and a liar was just too much.
I would NEVER, EVER recommend this...

Safety
GSR/staff friendliness
Cleanliness
I expected some drug users and police to be here, but I didn't feel any less safe than I did at the low budget motel I worked for. Any hotel that accepts cash is going to have some unsavory guests. The GSR can't discriminate and refuse a guest just because they suspect or know they're using drugs. All they can do is put said guests in rooms as close to the front desk as possible, and keep an eye on them. If there's a problem, they can ask them to leave.
I was impressed by the lobby's decor, cleanliness and atmosphere; I would definitely enjoy working as a GSR here. The GSR was friendly enough, and the coffee in the lobby was absolutely delicious!
Having worked for a motel, I know the smoking rooms are going to look a little rough, so I expected to see a burn in the bedding and/or furniture (burn in the chair). The room was big and painted a nice, warm color, the furniture was beat up some, but decent enough. The bed was comfortable, the water was hot, and the jetted tub was wonderful despite being an older one. However, the faucet needed caulk, and the lampshades in the room needed to be replaced. I know franchises have smaller budgets than corporate locations, but I don't belive buying caulk and new lampshades would send the hotel into bankruptcy. The little things matter, so it would be a wise investment in my opinion.
That said, I was not impressed with the housekeeping. The furniture was dusty, there were dark brown splatters on the lower wall in the bathroom where the trash can sits, and the room door (inside) was covered with black smudges and makeup. The handle was covered with fingerprints as well, which is disgusting and unsanitary. I know the housekeepers only have so many minutes per room, but it doesn't take a lot of time to dust, wipe a few splatters off the walls, and wipe down the doors and handles on the way out of the bathroom and room. The head housekeeper should have higher standards and expectations for themselves and their staff, in my opinion. I certainly would ... we'd have the cleanest rooms in the city if it were me. :)
I would stay here again and recommend it to friends and family, but I'd hope the rooms were cleaner next time, and that the lampshades were...
