This place is sketchy as hell. We rolled in around 12:30 AM after a long drive. Our beloved dog travels with us, so we tend to frequent Motel 6 because of their extremely friendly pet policy.||Pro: Accepts pets. ||Con: The first thing I noticed was trash strewn around the pool area. No matter, we just want to catch a few hours of sleep, not lounge by the swimming pool. ||Con: The swimming pool has been filled in with dirt and is now sporting a green lawn. No recreating by the water if you stay here. ||Con: There were a couple of homeless/druggie looking people hanging around in the parking lot. Perhaps they were guests who had a rough day and wanted to decompress in the parking lot before retiring to their rooms. God knows I've had days when I was working long hours (driving semi trucks) and I was probably rocking my own homeless/druggie aura. Anyway, we made sure that they saw our German Shepherd, as well as the fact that we unloaded EVERYTHING from our SUV. ||Pro: As we were getting ready to go inside, a burly security guard drove up and started questioning the people. Mr. Security sent the folks on their way. ||Con: The motel access door that was closest to our room had a busted lock. ||Another con: The inside corridor reeked of cigarette smoke. Gross. ||Pros: Our room only smelled faintly of smoke. Like, a very minuscule amount. And it seemed to be fairly clean. ||Con(?): Our room had a slug hanging around on the wall by the air conditioner. I put a question mark by "con," because our children were oddly thrilled and fascinated by it.||Pro: The people at the desk and the maids were nice. ||In conclusion, I would not stay here again. Nor would I stay anywhere in a 5 mile radius, at least. Next time I'll stay in Norman, or drive...
Read moreThis was a satisfying stay, I hadn’t planned to stay in a Motel but ended up having to. I have a lot of stuff to say but don’t let it deter you because I also really enjoyed my stay. For being a motel, it wasn’t bad in my opinion… I didn’t see any bugs/get any bites and I did examine the mattress before staying and it was clean. People are very quick to judge others based on appearance in the reviews. I’m a skeptical person so I can’t say anything about the other people staying here, they were probably just as afraid of me as I was of them. TV worked and I believe it had a sleep timer. There are cons but they weren’t that big of an issue for me. They allow pets which definitely causes a smell in some of the rooms. Maybe bring a candle or something… I’m not sure about their rules on candles though. The worst part of smell is the cigarette smoke when you enter. I think it’s the worst in the lobby because people who do smoke just step outside like 1 foot away from the door to do it.. No smoking in the rooms but my blanket has burn holes in it. The blanket was also very thin so if you need a heavy blanket you should bring your own. And our microwave didn’t work, but we didn’t really need one. Price was like $120 for 2 nights. Considering the place I was going to stay was going to cost me $320 (and charge me for them refusing me service) this isn’t a bad price. I’ve run out of stuff to say, I liked this...
Read moreI don’t usually write reviews, but I wanted to for this place, because, I felt like it deserved a good one. I was originally, going to stay in a more expensive hotel, but upon arriving in OKC, I discovered I had left my debit card at home….So, a family member wired me some money. Since I didn’t have my card, and the hotel didn’t take cash, I found myself needing a room, in a pinch. Tbh, after reading some of the reviews, I was a little leery about staying here, but it was late, it was a weekend, and very importantly, they had a double room on the ground floor (my SIL and I are both disabled). And they took cash. Honestly, I don’t understand all the negative reviews….the lady that checked us in was very sweet and friendly. As was the lady, the next day. The halls were clean and quiet. The price was very reasonable. The room was better than I expected… It was very clean and very spacious. The beds were comfortable. Plenty of towels and we were provided more, when we asked, along with an extra blanket. We stayed for 2 nights (we would have stayed a 3rd night, but a family member, rented us a room, somewhere else). No one ever bothered us. No one was loud, no one lurking around. In fact, a very nice fellow, coming out of the building, stopped and helped me load my walker into my car. I enjoyed my stay here and would...
