Do not stay here, we recently stayed for 3 nights and we were not satisfied by our stay. There are better places to stay in OOB for less money. The photos show the rooms as newly renovated, bright and clean. This was not our experience at all. The room had an odor. The worst part of our stay was the broken AC. Both my boyfriend and I had multiple conversations with front desk staff about the fixing the AC on night 1 and throughout our stay. On night 1, the front desk staff acted as maintenance, checking the AC and going back and forth between our room and the front desk. They brought a new remote for the AC from another room and when they finally decided that they needed to call maintenance after HOURS of waiting; they asked us to make sure maintenance returned the borrowed remote back to the room. Maintenance arrived and were less than helpful. They looked at the unit for a few minutes, mumbled to us about getting a part, said they might be back. We saw them get into their car and they did not return. The AC unit was clearly not cleaned and very old. We ended up spending our entire stay in a hot, humid room- giving up on getting the AC unit fixed or being transferred to a different room. Upon checkout, the front desk asked us about our stay and how things worked out with the AC. We told them that we never got it fixed and our room was hot the whole time, as it is July- despite multiple requests to have it fixed or be moved. No follow up from staff. They apologized and told us they would give us 10% off of our next stay- which we will not be utilizing. Money back on this stay (as we prepaid) or some kind of compensation, a restaurant voucher or upgrade should have been offered during our stay. The room itself was not great, the kitchenette that we paid extra for came with 1 knife, 2 big plates, 2 small plates, and 2 bowls. The room is supposed to sleep 4- you think they would give enough dish ware for the amount of people in the room. The grout in the bathroom was gross and overall, room was not updated. Vinyl peeling off the floor. Other amenities missing included a safe, hairdryer, iron, or even a closet in the room. A safe, hairdryer and iron were not advertised, so maybe our expectations should’ve been lower but in my experience, this is standard in any hotel. The icing on top of the cake was our checkout time being at 10 am. We started loading the car at 9:30 am. At 9:34, we attempted to access our room for trip #2 to the car and were surprised to find that we could no longer access our room. We asked multiple housekeeping staff on the floor- all of which were trying to find our housekeeper to let us in. Finally, after finding her- she told us she would be right down. We walked to the room to wait and she walked right past us- avoiding eye contact and proceeded to go into the room next to us. We had to ask her once again to open the door. Housekeeping came to our room once, we were getting ready in the room so declined housekeeping on this day. We asked for more towels and gave them our trash, to which they seemed confused.. Customer service other than the front desk was not great. Wi-Fi in the hotel was awful and I ended up opting for my LTE during the trip. The walls were paper thin, we could hear our neighbors and I’m sure they could hear us. The hotel is far from the pier and we opted to drive instead of walk- although they do offer a trolley. Perks of the hotel include a pool and close proximity to the beach. We utilized the grills and outdoor areas- which were nice. All in all, the perks of this hotel can be found at other hotels without all of the cons that we experienced during our stay and we will be finding a better place with working AC and a better standard...
Read moreThis was one of the worst experiences I have had regarding a hotel room.... and I travel frequently for my business. I realize that this is a beach hotel and I was not expecting much in the way of luxury... or any. I travel with my band across New England and the hotels I get are for a quick respite after the show and before getting back on the road. That being said, all that I want is a comfortable bed, clean room and a tv, to relax before sleeping.|Luckily for me I went to the hotel to check in before the show and quickly realized that there will be absolutely nowhere to park with my equipment trailer. It's not very big, but with all of the parking essentially under the buildings, this would not be an easy feat at 2AM. I could not park to register at 3PM... nevermind after everyone else squeezed in for the night. Like I said, I was lucky to determine this before going there late and finding out then. I was lucky enough to be able to trade vehicles with a bandmate to lose the trailer. After the show, I took the smaller vehicle to the hotel and still with the small vehicle I had to park by the dumpsters all the way to the back of the building as there were way more cars there than space would allow. |I have not even gotten into the room yet. |I walked into the room and hit the light switch... nothing... I turned my phone light on and went to the nightstand light... nothing.. so I pulled the cord for the light to find that it was unplugged, behind the bed. When I went to move the bed to plug in the light, the bed practically collapsed and lilted forward at about a 20 degree angle. I was able to slide it out enough to get the plug in and turned on the light. I did not attempt to push the bed back to the wall, as it would surely not have stayed intact. I wasn't going to be sleeping in that bed. Thankfully there was another that I wiggle tested, to see what would happen with this one. realizing that it was not going to be much better. I went to get a towel to place behind the headboard, so that I would not be slamming into the wall every time I turned over. Parked, now having light, I tried to turn the tv on... nothing. I messed with the menu, the settings, the remote.. nothing. now its 3 AM and I'm aggravated and cranky and exhausted. Now it's 6 AM and thus begins the herd of elephants traversing the ceiling on the floor above me. It did not stop until I decided to cut my losses and get back on the road. I'd get better rest sitting in traffic. It doesn't even matter that I'm writing this review, because nothing will be done about it and I spent 278. for about 3 hours of sleep . The hotel will be just as full tomorrow. I will NEVER stay at this place again. Writing this review just made me feel a little bit better... still...
Read moreMy family and I have stayed at this inn for 3 years straight. We have had no issues with staff or the property until today. A couple hours after check out not only our room but the joining room (my sister in law) got charged $250 for one room and $224 for "smoking charge". No body in our party smokes so we have no idea where this claim is coming from. We have young children with one of those having bad asthma so why would anyone smoke around them. After repeated phone calls we FINALLY spoke to Carrie the manager who stated the room smelt so bad they couldn't rent it out and it was blocked off. She also offered for us to drive all the way back to smell the room because it smelt so bad. What they didn't know was we still had family in another room still there. We sent a family member down to ask to see the room and Carrie stayed in the office and an employee came out to assist her. She would not let my family member go into the room as Carrie said we could. The employee then began to get hostile with my family member and told her she was going to kick her out and call the police. Once police arrived both sides were heard and unfortunately it is private property so my family had to leave with no refund for confronting them about false claims. The police officer went up to the room to follow up with the "awful smoke smell" and found no sign or trace of anyone smoking. We are really upset with the loss of money and my family having to leave their vacation because of this Inn making false claims and retaliation. The officer also offered us the report so we will be sending that to our card companies. I really loved coming here with my family every year. This was such a good trip, we ended up extending our stay. I highly recommend people to check their cards after leaving this Inn because we were not notified about this charge we just happened to check our accounts. This was an awful way to end a very...
