What I Liked 1. Location 2. The room appeared to be renovated and ok 3. The name is nice but it is not an "Inn" and doesn't match the cute name. Not So Much 1. The hotel is very dated and not updated 2. The hallway carpets are really dirty and emit moldy smell 3. No ice machine working on the second floor but there is ice in lobby area. 4. The microwave was dead 5. The fridge had rotten food from prior guest, yuk. 6. No outlets were easy to access and all in use 7. No USB outlets 8. The shower was weak and plumbing dated 9. The hotel is populated with extended stay construction tenants who smoke, leave their doors open, and make calls in the corridors. There is noise and other issues 10. The hotel smells musty and just doesn't feel very clean 11. The room is 30% overpriced in terms of value. See my photos. Good luck.

A budget hotel in a great location for visitors and those coming to see wildflowers, birds and hike Catalina State Park. Rooms are clean and serviceable with microwave and fridge (but no safe). Staff were attentive and helpful. However, the hotel could do with a little care. The battery in our room smoke alarm failed in the night and started beeping at 1am. Also, the air-conditioning was a bit weak even in spring. Breakfast was meh...good coffee, clean rooms toast, bagels and jam but rather sad egg patties and soggy hash browns may be avoided. Also, the bran flake cereal dispenser was broken, so people were reaching in for cereal with bare hands. Still, would visit again.. just set expectations accordingly and bring an avocado for your breakfast.

We have stay here, in years past. We know that we are not at a high end place. However, it was always clean, safe and close to the family that we visit. This time, was a different story. We tried 3 different rooms. All had significant safety and cleanliness issues. Photos attached. After 3 different attempts, we chose to leave. Even with proof of the unsafe and unclean conditions, they refuse to refund the reservation. Disappointed that a hospitality company would allow this and behave like this.

Booked 3 nights at this hotel. First night of check in we found dirty towels on the back of the door. Not enough clean towels in the room so we talked to the manager who apologized and asked if we wanted to change rooms. We were exhausted and the room looked clean so we decided to just get additional towels and stay in room. The bed has one very thin sheet blanket ... not adequate at all. The next morning we tried to use the in room coffee maker and blowdryer and neither worked due to the outlet not working. We talked to the same gentlemen at the front desk and he switched us to a new room across the hall. We went to breakfast in the hotel and the sausage and hashbrowns looked like they were boiled or microwaved and thrown into a tiny crockpot to stay warm. Very unappealing. The next morning in our new room we were woken up to the fire alarm chirping for about 45 minutes. We got up and were leaving to go to phx for the day. No one was at the front desk so we left and when we got back later that night the alarm started chirping again ... just in time for bed!!! Also the glass shelf above the towel bar was missing just the bars to hold the glass were there no actual shelf. We called the front desk at about 8pm and were told the manager is the only person who could fix and he would not be back until 11pm. I asked to be moved because we wanted to go to sleep. I was questioned why we moved from the first room and I explained to the women. My explaination must have been adequate as she gave us a new room. We also asked for blankets and were given the same thin sheet blankets . We moved AGAIN to another new room and went to bed. In the morning all of our drinks in the fridge were frozen solid and the temp was set at med ... we packed up and checked out. I spoke with the gentlemen who I was told the night before was the manager. I asked if we could be compensated for the inconvenience of having to move nightly etc. He said he did not have my credit card information because I had booked through a travel site. I told him I had called several times trying to book directly but no one answered the phone so I had no choice but to book through a site. And the credit card he had taken on the first night for incidentals was the same card I had used to pay for the room. He said to take his card and write his name on the back (Mark) and he would work with us next time if we booked directly through the hotel. I asked if he was the manager and he said no asst manager. I found that strange as the person the night before told me who the manager was and the description fit this gentlemen to a tee and he had helped us several times with our issues. But now asking for compensation he was just the asst manager with no authority VERY disappointed in our stay and the customer service of the front desk. I would highly recommend not staying...

I am giving Catalina Inn in Catalina, AZ (a suburb of Tucson) a ‘1’ rating for my recent stay with them. First, they denied there was a paid reservation for a specific room. Then after about 2 hours and a long phone call from the travel agency GVR they “suddenly” found my reservation. Upon arrival that evening, they had apparently rented that room to someone else. All they had available was a room upstairs or a room downstairs. I am a disabled veteran in a wheelchair, though I do use a cane, I cannot navigate stairs. So I took the downstairs room that was offered. The bed & the TV were about the only properly functioning items in the room. Advertised internet access was not available, no alarm clock in the room & no door hanger for "Do Not Disturb". The free breakfast was lacking: no juice, no pancakes or waffles, no fresh fruit and the hockey-puck eggs were cold & dry. DO NOT ACCEPT ROOM 106 if you stay at this establishment. They should not have even offered the room to me! || The bathroom had a 6 inch hole in the wall on one side and mildew on floor and wall tile. Especially the wall by the door. The waterspout on the tub was so loose it could be lifted off. It was obvious the cleaning lady only vacuumed the ‘L’ shaped traffic area as there was dust, dirt, trash, and even dead bugs in corners and under movable furniture. Two lamps did not work because there was no electrical outlet near them. But the worst item was the plumbing leak I discovered that night under the floor of the sink at the vanity counter. It is not caused by a leaking U-trap, but by a problem within the foundation pipes. So that water seeps up and into the carpet and adjoining bathroom wall when the faucet is turned on at the sink. The rug itself within a few feet of this area was full of mildew and mold and became saturated with water. I have a form of COPD and a artificial heart valve so breathing mold & mildew could cause serious harm to me!|| I notified the hotel management the next morning ( as the night clerk could not do anything), stating that either they moved me to a comparable room or found me a room in a nearby hotel since we were going to be gone all day. And they did move me a few rooms down. Advertised internet access was not available, no alarm clock in the room & no door hanger for "Do Not Disturb". Immediately noticeable was that the door to room 106 was propped open for the next couple of days and no other work was done. So, the assumption is that this hotel will continue to rent out that room when they can without telling a customer about the health hazards from the...
