As a restaurant critic, I had the pleasure of dining at Sunny Side Up Cafe in Tucson, Arizona, and let me tell you, it was a stellar experience. I couldn't resist trying their renowned Catalina Special, and boy, was it a delight!

The dish consisted of two succulent sausage patties nestled on top of perfectly flaky biscuits. And let's not forget about the scrambled eggs that were expertly cooked to fluffy perfection. To top it all off, a generous drizzle of savory gravy elevated the flavors to new heights.

The combination of the sausage, biscuits, eggs, and gravy created a symphony of flavors that danced on my palate with every bite. The dish was not only visually appealing but also incredibly satisfying to taste. The ingredients were fresh, and the portion size was just right.

The service at Sunny Side Up Cafe was exceptional, with attentive staff who made sure my dining experience was nothing short of excellent. The cozy and welcoming atmosphere added to the overall charm of the place.

I highly recommend Sunny Side Up Cafe to anyone craving a hearty and delicious breakfast. Whether you're a local or just passing through Tucson, this charming eatery is a must-visit. Trust me, you won't be...

Came here around 11am on Tuesday (8/30/22) and asked about chicken tenders, as I didn’t want anything breakfast. The chicken was $12 and not on the menu. I figured since it’s only 3 chicken tenders, I’ll get the seniors choice fish sandwich, (which isn’t listed as a “seniors menu”) I pointed to it and ordered it the price was 8.39. When we got the bill, I was charged $13 for the fish sandwich which is completely unacceptable because I ordered a recommended meal for seniors that I felt appropriate, the manger and the employee failed to charge me properly for the seniors choice fish sandwich, I was overcharged by $5 I was told it was a seniors menu option, and I responded that they need to revise there menu appropriately stating what is a seniors menu. No where on there current menu did it state that my fish sandwich was only for seniors.

My family will not return, the manger and the employee failed to show and acknowledgement of errors in there menu, or errors in the idea that “seniors Choice” is a recommended...

Hate to give Sunnyside another downgrade, but well the place just continues to go downhill. Been going there for 12 years. Was family run for several years and then sold to a new owner a few years back. Since it's sale it just gets worse and worse. I have been avoiding it but decided to give it a try again, what a mistake. My wife ordered Egg Bennies and a V8. I ordered a cheeseburger and fries. The V8 tasted strange and my wife said "I think they watered it down". After a short time, I see the burger under the warmer lights. There it sat and sat. After a few minutes I decided to time it, while the waitress kept asking the cooks where the Eggs Benedict were. The Eggs Benedict finally arrived, but only after the burger had spent over 20 MINUTES UNDER THE LIGHTS!! I declined the burger and watched my wife eat the eggs. She said they SUCKED, as the Hollandaise sauce appeared to be watered down as well. The owner obviously knew I declined my meal, but never bothered to come by. SUMMARY, DON'T WASTE YOUR...

This was a great little diner. It was very clean and had plenty of seating. Service was fast and we got our drinks right away. Our food was brought quickly and as ordered. The chili con carne omelette was not greasy and large portion. The chili was canned and needed some more flavor. The hash browns were cooked just right! The pancakes were the right size but a little too rubbery. The home fries were cooked with fresh green peppers and onions, which was great! However, they lacked any seasoning. Our drinks were always full and we always had a friendly service. I give this place q 5 star because they were overall tip notch. The flavors and cooking can always be improved.

Sunny Side Up is the quintessential classic diner experience in Tucson with a side of constant smiles, happiness and jokes from the staff. Customer service still counts and paired with the solid diner foods and the cozy rooster décor you will feel right at home. Sunny Side Up is like the Cheers of diners. Don't expect extravagance. But solid american diner food is what you can rely on here! Five stars are deserved for sure!
