My husband spent a night at the Inn at Grand Glaize on our way to Branson. All we needed was a bed and bathroom, so this worked out fine for us. The beds/bedding were clean and comfortable, the toilet and actual shower itself very clean. There was a nice view of the lake from our sliding door (patio). We checked in easily and the front desk clerk (both check in and check out) were friendly. The walls are paper thin so we could hear our neighbors’ television and conversation. The downfalls with the room (pictures attached): There was a spot of black mold on the shower ceiling on one end, and a large yellow stain on the other end. On the ceiling next to the patio curtain was a large web with a leggy spider and its fruit fly remnant meals. There were 2 folding chairs on the very small patio, and the end table to use out there had broken glass. Also, the ice machine down the hall could use a good pressure wash which should include in it, on it and behind it. This was really gross. My husband checked out Stan’s Bar & Bistro in the hotel lobby and he enjoyed it very much. Friendly bartender and good drink selection.

Great location misses the mark on cleanliness. The staff was very nice and seemed concerned when I brought up the roach, and hair on the floor of the bathroom but I was never called by management as promised. The game room is one pool table and a few chairs. We didn't use the hot tub or fitness room downstairs and walked down to the outdoor pool, it was autumn and closed as expected. The tennis court/basketball/volleyball area is scattered with trash and unusable. I was also surprised to see a brick wall outside our window. I would have thought that since it was the off season, they would want to put their best face forward and show off the lake view. There was no free breakfast, just coffee. In summary, this location has the potential to be great, I was recommended the Inn at Grand Glaize because of the cleanliness seen by a friend on a previous visit but I can see that the standards have fallen. If improvements are made, I would stay again, but insist on looking at my room 1st.

A hotel with great potential, but for the moment lacks the amenities necessary for my ideal vacation. The staff at Grand Glaize were polite, friendly, pleasant, and accommodating, however, the hotel itself could use a facelift. We went during the week and it seemed like a ghost hotel. The hotel restaurant was empty, the pool bar/restaurant was closed, and the rickety elevators seemed as if they were waiting for more guests to enter them before they’d close. Staying on the lake, we had hoped for a mini fridge in our room, but were sad to find out there wasn’t one. As Friday grew closer, the hotel began to slowly come to life. Flowers appeared at the entry way and music began to play on a regular basis. Had we known that most of the amenities were only available on the weekend, we would have changed our trip days. Sadly, the entire trip I found myself thinking about how the hotel COULD be great.

LONG POST ALERT!! And if you don’t feel like reading my whole review, just please please do yourself a favor and don’t stay here.. I wish I could give this place negative stars! There’s a reason it’s the least expensive in the area. I’ll start with the POSITIVES in case you just HAVE to stay here for whatever reason: When you first arrive, you are greeted by a man named Chris. He is amazing! You will see him throughout the property and he is always willing to lend a helping hand, with a smile on his face. Not sure if he is the only one on the maintenance staff, but he was the week we were there. Any time anything broke, he was the one who they called to fix it. The hospitality manager was also great! He made sure we had everything thing we needed for our event (family reunion. About 60 people). The bartender down by the pool was very friendly. Made great drinks! Cool dude. The view is amazing! Between the lake, the trees, and the beautiful sky, I could have sat on our balcony all day, and just looked out. There was lots to do around us. Food.. shopping… activities. The location was great! There are plenty of other hotels in the area though. So stay at one of those.

Now on to the negatives… Brace yourselves!!

The rooms are out dated and muggy. The carpets are dirty. The furniture is dirty, the walls are dirty. Our “non smoking” room reeked of cigarette smoke. We had to switch rooms 3 times!! Our 1st room not only smelled of cigarettes, but our bathtub was dirty. Like actually dirty. Not just old and raggedy like the rest of the place. But actually dirty. They tried to move us to a room on the first floor (where the jacuzzi is), but as soon as the raggedy, shakey, half broken elevator started to descend, we instantly smelled chlorine. It was so bad, our eyes actually started burning and we felt nauseous. I’m not exaggerating. Once the doors opened, the chemical smell hit us (our eyes and lungs) like a ton of bricks!! There was no way we were staying down there. This place has BED BUGS! The manager tried to convince me it was an ant that I saw on our mattress! Haha!! Luckily the house keeper agreed with me that it was in fact a bed bug. On just one mattress alone, i saw a live bed bug, a smashed bed bug, and the shedding of a bed big skin. This was the 2nd room we stayed in… of course we had to move again. The 3rd room had a leaky toilet and broken air conditioner. So I imagine trying to relax, or even sleep at night, and constantly hearing the air conditioner turn off and on because it is broken and the toilet constantly running because it is broken. Like constantly… As in not stopping. ALL DAY AND ALL NIGHT. The air conditioner would turn on for two minutes and then turn off for about 1 minute. And each time it turned off and on it sounded like the starting and stopping of one of those old cars that you had to wind up to start. The toilet made a leaking and hissing sound. It was so annoying. The manager on duty was very sympathetic. I actually felt bad for him because there was literally nothing he could do about any of these problems. Ultimately he offered us one free night, and a percentage off of the other 2 nights. I honestly don’t think we should have paid anything. We spent our entire trip miserable and moving rooms. But he said that was all he could do. The owner would not allow him to do more. Which brings me to my next thing: Every time I asked to speak to the owner, I think her name is Sun (Idk if it’s spelled differently), she was unavailable. Even when I called after our trip was over, she was never available. She doesn’t even have a personal email address. It is the general email address for all of the managers. I did not feel comfortable sending an email there, because of how sketchy the staff members were about allowing me to speak to her, I felt like as soon as one of them saw my email, they might delete it instead of passing it along to her. There was so much more wrong with this place, but this post is long enough. I won’t do that to y’all haha!

DONT STAY AT...

PLEASE READ TO THE END…YOU’LL WANT TO!

My family and I were in town for a baseball tournament and our team was staying at this hotel. I think the term motel would have been more appropriate because the only good part about this experience was the gentleman named Christopher who I believe is a maintenance/customer service guy. We had just unloaded our car onto one of the pushcarts and he offered to take it straight to our room for us which was incredibly nice. I ended up tipping him five dollars and probably would have gave him more if I had any additional cash on me . The bad experience began once we entered our room…

My wife, son, and I were sweaty and disgusting from being in the sun all day and really wanted to just take a shower and relax. There were living bugs on the shower walls and there was a rusty nail in the middle of the floor in the sleeping area. The water in the shower wouldn’t drain so we had to give time between showers in order to not bathe in each other‘s filth.

After the shower, disgustingness, I turned the TV on only to find out it was not working properly. The screen had a red tint to it and red bars at the top and bottom of the screen, almost as if it had maybe been dropped or something and it just wasn’t working properly. I went to call the front desk only to find our phone in the room did not work. The phone had no dialtone and I checked all possible connections and everything appeared to be plugged in.

Because of these issues, I decided to go to the front desk to see what could be done about the cleanliness of our room and the TV not working. When I got to the front desk, the woman behind the counter told me that I would have to find Christopher and he could help me with my issues. I WOULD HAVE TO FIND CHRISTOPHER not her. I went out front and was unsuccessful in locating Christopher. I came back in and told her that I could not locate Christopher and at that point, she said I will send him a text message and he will come up to your room in about 30 minutes… It was 10:15pm already.

Christopher eventually came to the room and it was around 10:45 and turn the TV on and lo and behold. The TV was working properly all of a sudden. so now I look like a whiny customer that couldn’t do a little troubleshooting on a television to get it to work. (this is not true in fact, I turned the TV off and even unplugged it from its power source in order to try and give it a chance to reset which did nothing prior to him showing up).

After getting the TV to work, we were able to fall asleep for a little while… then we found out that apparently there was a wedding in the hotel on the same weekend however they were supposed to be on their own floor, that was not the case. There were people slamming their doors until around 4:30 AM and we had a baseball game at 8:30 AM. I would’ve loved to call the front desk, but my phone still did not work.

So after a night of only a few hours of sleep, my wife decided bad. The lodgings were unacceptable and the price we paid was nowhere near worth the experience we had. My wife went to the front desk and told the woman about our experience and we got no apology, in fact, we had to request something to make the situation a little bit better and we were compensated $17. This review is not meant to insult anybody, but just meant to inform those who may choose to stay at this hotel just cautious and check your room before agreeing to stay there.

Again I want to give a heartfelt compliment to Christopher because he was so incredibly nice and I believe he would be better served working elsewhere. I can’t blame the hotel staff for the ignorance of the loud people on our floor, but had the phone worked. I would’ve been able to report it and maybe somebody could have gone to the room and requested them to quiet down. I would have personally asked them to quiet down, however with the lack of sleep, I was already perturbed and I probably would’ve been in the wrong mindset to nicely ask somebody to...

I would have avoided thinking about this place ever again if Google hadn't prompted me for a review. I also want to start this with the fact that we had paid for four nights and we checked out after three. We didn't bother even trying for a refund after looking at other reviews.

The Inn gets one star for the decent view and one star for the helpful and kind staff. Those made our stay slightly more tolerable.

I would not mind that everything was very dated if it hadn't been evident everywhere that the bare minimum was done to patch things up when they broke and that little to no effort was put into place to make it not look like it was patched up in most cases around the hotel.

When it came to our room, it was decent until we wanted to sleep. We paid for the cheapest room, so I didn't mind that we were one of the few rooms without a balcony, but it plain sucked that were sandwiched between the whirlpool and laundry downstairs and a ballroom or convention type space upstairs. Both areas had plenty of sound that leaked into the room we were staying in and in some cases this kept us up at night. When the lights were off, we could see light from the room next to us through cracks where the wall meet the ceiling. You could also hear just about everything the people in the next room were saying. Both sound issues contributed to several nights or poor sleep.

If the soundproofing wasn't bad enough, the mattresses were another issue that led to a terrible rest. We had requesting a king bed and received two queens, not a big deal but something to be noted. I ended up being grateful for the extra bed after sitting on one. Both mattresses were not comfortable and one of the beds had something weird going on where half of the mattress had so little support it made you slowly slide off the side of the bed if you weren't careful. Having the extra bed though did allow me to learn that taking the comforter from the second bed and sleeping on top of the comforter from the first bed made it more comfortable to sleep.

Trying to make better of the situation, I thought I would try to make use of the advertised whirlpool, sauna, and fitness center. These turned out to be mostly disappointing. On the first day, I used the whirlpool and noticed that the timer dial wasn't working, so I'm not sure how long I was in there, but the experience was okay. On the third day, I figured I would set the timer on the sauna, as it said it needed 20 minutes to be ready for use, and then use the whirlpool while I waited. The heater in the whirlpool had stopped working between day 1 and day 3, so the whirlpool was just agitated pool water. After waiting 20 minutes for the sauna, I checked it and learned that it also appeared to be broken and none of the timers for it worked either.

The fitness center was a mixed bag. The two weight machines were older but worked fine. There was a tv in the fitness center but I was never able to locate a remote and it was too quiet to actually hear anything once you turned a machine on. I would have liked to use an elliptical, but all three were in various stages of disrepair, and after attempting to use the only one that looked stable I quickly stopped as it sounded like it was going to break even more from me using it. There were three treadmills. One you couldn't turn on because the safety key was missing, more turned on but you couldn't ready anything on the display to know what any of the settings were, and the middle one functioned enough to be used.

It was nice to have a restaurant on site and we got food to go one night. The food was okay and we took it to go because smoking was allowed in the restaurant. If you're sensitive to smoke, you should be aware that the smoke from the restaurant filters into the lobby area.

I feel like this really could be a great place but it is...
