Mandalay Shores Resort — Hotel in Oxnard

My uncle evacuated after losing his apartment to the fires in California. His wife was hospitalized due to a smoke inhalation. I left my home in Virginia behind and went to Care for both of them. While I was with my uncle, Peter, I noticed that his unit did not have any heat at all. I contacted the property management company several times by phone. I was told that I was just not pushing the button right. I’m in my mid 40s. I know how to set a thermostat. During the nine days we were there they refused to send out anyone to fix the heat. It was about 50° and seemed even colder since we were right next to the water. The staff was inattentive we stayed for nine days they left us with three dishwashing tabs. Additionally, as an Eagle Scout and former marine, I leave any residence better than any condition that I had found it in. Although it bothered me tremendously that there was no air no heat at checkout I clean that Airbnb from top to bottom I dusted it so that it was better than its condition when we rented it. All the dishes were washed and put away all of the sheets were washed and folded on top of the beds that we used That is above and beyond what their rules are in their booklet. However, Mandalay Shores resort, demanded that we pay an additional cleaning fee. My final analysis is this if you’re looking for a decent place to stay for very cheap in Oxnard California and you don’t care about having heat or air conditioning. I would consider renting this place if it was less than $75 a day anything above and beyond that should be considered...

In 1987 a Young Family purchased Their time share at Mandalay Shores Resort. Because of their schedules it was always impossible to commit to a firm date a year out. Now, 35 years later, and two new company owners, a pandemic, a grown Family, things have changed ! FINALLY !!!! Scheduling was easy, details from Alexa and Lucy Perfect ! My Wife and I had the best time ever ! Our children with their children came up to Mandalay Shores Resort. for R&R-Perfect Clean Beach and sunsets! Parks ! Great weather ! and smiling, Happy Oxnard, Ventura , People ! and restaurants !! Beautiful Farm land, flowers fruit and veggies, all types of restaurants, Great Sea Food ! What Wonderful views and Lots of things to do ! The condominium was perfection ! Clean and Breezy Charming Cottage Condo!Thanks Angelina !, Cozy fireplace on cool evenings,Thanks Eric! Great back yard patio,for out door morning coffee and Evening refreshments, and the cleanest pool and Jacuzzi ever ! Our kids and Grand kids were all amazed ! Parking is perfection/easy. Texting to Alexa at the front desk, and always easier to drop in with questions. great help ! We are signing up for next years vacation. This is a little charm located 1/2 a block from the beach with a great view of the Channel Islands. The outside screams charm. A fireplace awaits you inside as does a nice interior. The rooms inside are spacious.||The unit that we stayed in is definitely in need of upgrades. The fan over the stove did not work and the bathrooms have great hot water, but could be a little more modern. The pool is great. The single BBQ for all the units needs a clean - the fire was there, but no heat and we were forced to finish the meat in the oven in our unit. ||Service was great on the first days, but later in the week, we had questions about the mid-week clean, which never occurred, and where to put our garbage/recycling when the receptacles were full. Several calls to the building manager, leaving messages, no response and manager going for lunch and not returning, even when the "Be Back At..." sign indicated 12:45pm.||It is a little far for a home-base for Disneyland as it's a 2.5 hour drive each way, especially with SoCal traffic. Cute area in Oxnard and Ventura.||All being said, it was a decent week-long stay and hopefully will be...
