Stayed with a business group and was charged $100 deposit on a room that was already prepaid by our organization. Almost a month later I'm still disputing this deposit that Amerihost indicated had been fully refunded when I checked out.
There was a water advisory for the community and the hotel evidently didn't care enough about the guests to post highly visible warnings so we didn't drink it. I only discovered this after checking out of the hotel and going to the facility where I would be working during the day.
Furnishings look dated back to the 50's and not in a good way. Many little things that we now expect in hotels such as bumped out shower curtains have not been addressed.
Hotel has lots of potential, but the provincial way in which they manage the property has led me to recommend that the local coordinator of our organization send us elsewhere in the future. Additionally I've informed the state organization to avoid this hotel if they ever want my services again.
There are several regular franchise hotels up the road about 15 minutes to the north and I would recommend you look there for accommodations. Its unfortunate they don't take greater pride in being a part of the Waverly Business Community. There is so much potential in this property, but to treat their bread and butter business clients like they just jumped off the truck and were looking for a one hour rental will leave them only serving the very guests they are...
Read moreChecked in late Thursday evening for a girl’s weekend. Friday morning there was a “surprise” fire alarm test/inspection for each room. Friend was going to take shower but didn’t because of guy having to enter room whenever he may get to us.
Spent all day Friday out, came back and took first shower. No water pressure. Got out and told friend it was actually worst hotel shower I’ve ever had. She got in and had great pressure……until the faucet blew off and across the tub. We were told by staff we could be moved from the second to third floor or it would be fixed Saturday morning. We chose to stay put and have them fix it.
We left all day Saturday and came back and they had “fixed” the faucet. Went to take shower and it blew off again.
An hour or two later our toilet didn’t flush. Tried several times. Called down and was told we could come get plunger. I’m not paying to stay at a hotel and dealing with all of their plumbing issues.
We chose this place because it looked decent and was smaller and family owned. Saw the owner a couple of times. He didn’t seem to care about anything at all. Couldn’t even say hello, make eye contact or anything. We got a $10 per night discount for all of this. What a joke. I would never stay here again. Do more research than I did and save yourself some frustration! I was so disappointed in the...
Read moreBedbug alert. I stayed in room 222. My coworker and I crashed early roughly 9 -10 ish. By about 12:20 AM I awoke to A crawling feeling on my arm to look over and see a bug crawling on my pillow, later to realize it was a bedbug. further investigation found another bedbug beside my headboard, and found the nest behind the other headboard on the other bed with fecal matter all over it showing that this infestation has been going on for sometime. When I brought this up to the attendant at the front desk all he was able to do was switch me rooms Because for looking for another hotel at 12:20 AM when you gotta be up at 5 AM for work. He told me I had to wait until 7 AM to talk to management so I waited. The manager extremely rude would not comment on the bedbug problem nor did she apologize for any inconvenience this caused us last night Or the further inconvenience I’m now worrying about an infestation in my house which could cost me thousands of dollars. All she was willing to do was caught my room 10% which in my book doesnt outweigh the risk i’ve been infestation in my house. I truly believe you handled this incorrectly. This is a public risk to anybody staying at this hotel. I do not recommend this hotel nor will I ever be staying at this...
