I gave the dining and breakfast a 5 because they were putting things away by 9:20ish. I don't recall seeing anything openly posted about breakfast or getting a reminder. But I usually stay at IHG hotels and probably "shouldve" known/remembered. We did check in late(after midnight) and the staff (Joe I think) got distracted with another guest after he kindly gave us complimentary water.
I also had a problem with info that I got abt transportation on the site it says midnight, but when I called to check on shuttle from the airport, the rep told me that shuttle is 24 hours & it would b @ airport, I arrived and ready 4 P/u at 12:06, shuttle was over 12am. I was disappointed! Only 6 mins had past & service shouldve still been honored. amount of money spent at these hotels should warrant a better type of service. Granted I used my EARNED points based on times I've stayed. But my flight could've been looked at to know it was late. The bathroom could use a little updating. Simple things that housekeeping may not notice. Shower curtain worn, fixtures not secure and paint chipped or rusted in some areas.
The Viator transportation mentioned on the IHG site was a nightmare when it came time to get picked up after having booked with ease. The reps for the company drivers and telephone were NO help! We finally got picked up to get to the port for our cruise, but the van was a MESS!! They made it feel like it was my fault that the drivers van broke down, that I had questions and wanted to be on time to port at the time I was scheduled. It was Rapha Transportation. They said that they didn't have my number to call me....LIES. They said that they didn't know if the hotel I was at was a designated pick up location...LIES. All these things are asked b4 you can reserve. We waited and went back and forth with someone for abt 1.5 hours b4 being picked up. Reese, the guy the took the call was semi rude and I'd talked to him days b4, so he had my number, bcuz I wanted to make sure that my booking was rec'd and the time for pickup. IHG should not be backing this company. It looks...
We chose this hotel based on the Park and Fly option. Upon arrival, we found out that the morning shuttle leaves every hour. So instead of leaving at 6:20-6:30, we opted to use the 5:30 am shuttle. While it's only 2 miles to the airport, we wanted to be sure the shuttle was "on time". On trip to the airport was fine and only took 4-5 minutes travel.
Our accomdodations were very good and the room cleaniness was very clean.
Our issue was with the Park and Fly option. I called and asked how to get the shuttle after our trip. They said call the hotel and shuttle would be dispatched "on demand." When calling for our shuttle, the dispatch said it would be 20-25 minutes. after approcimately 40 minuts, I called to inquire where the shuttle was. They knew exactly when I called and said they would check. After speaking wiht the driver, they said there was heavy traffic and the driver was 10-12 minutes away. The shuttle finally arrived after 1 hr. There were 3 of us total that waited for an hour. On the way back to the hotel, I noticed that the traffic was not heavy at all. Our trip to the hotel was about 5 minutes. Not a word was spoken from the driver about being late.
So either the driver lied about where they were or the dispatcher lied. I realize that there may have been passengers waiting to go to the airport but that should have been relayed. If the shuttle knows it is going to be an hour, then they should give the guests the option to wait or take a taxi. The hotel is only 2 miles form the airport. I would not recommend this hotel for the Park and Fly shuttle. It is not reliable.
In the hour we waited, we saw severl other hotels stop and return and leave again. So we know the traffice was not an issue and many of the hotels were much farther away than our Holiday Inn Express.
Also the Holidy Inn and Avid hotels stopped there to pick up passengers but were not allowed to take us to our hotel. Had we know, we would have rode the Avid shuttle as it was right next door to our HOliday...
Read moreWe recently stayed here for one night. This property definitely does not live up to the Holiday Inn express standard. From the get-go we probably should’ve picked up on the clues of how our stay was going to be and gone somewhere else. But of course that wasn’t an option because we paid a one night deposit that would not be refunded. We were not greeted as members. The person checking us in barely even acknowledged us at all. The elevators were slow. The door to our room was thin and did not give us the impression that it was very secure. The walls are also thin, we could hear all our neighbors, from the doors shutting in the hallway to people in the room next-door simply moving about or maybe innocently sneezing. A better quality room would not allow you to hear such minor noises. The next morning we went down for the breakfast buffet, which was our primary motivation for staying there. We were leaving that morning to head back to the airport to take a bus to go to Cape Canaveral for a cruise and we wanted to start our trip with a good quality breakfast. But the food there was lousy. While it was the usual fare you would expect at a Holiday Inn express, the cinnamon rolls were very hard and very cold. The toasters did not properly function and only seemed to burn our breads. The only thing that even remotely tasted good was the juice. All in all our stay there was a major disappointment. Unfortunately this may be one of those locations where you could say we’ll never be back and they would say that’s fine we’re still gonna sell out pretty much every night. We are loyal to the IHG brand but we’ll probably never go back to this location....
