While on vacation with my family we decided to make reservations at The Comfort Inn in Pine Grove Pennsylvania. The hotel is right off of Interstate 81 making it easy to excess if you are traveling. The hotel in my opinion was affordable; my family and I enjoyed our night stay. Once, entering the hotel we were greeted by the friendly staff who checked my family into the hotel. We paid $80 and the hotel room we stayed in had two beds, a table with two chairs (with a mini coffee machine), a reclining chair, microwave, mini fridge, television, and the bathroom was fully stocked with towels and soap. Everything in the room was spotless with no dust or wear and tear on any of the furniture. My family and I had a wonderful sleep and we felt safe sleeping in the hotel room. We slept straight through the night without any disturbances. In addition, the hotel offers free wifi, pool, ice machine, gym, laundry room, pet rooms, and smokers and non- smokers rooms. Furthermore the continental breakfast was decent and the area was clean. The breakfast included oatmeal, coffee (regular and decaf), cereal (Fruit Loops, Raisin Bran, and Corn Flakes), mini serving of orange juice(like what you get in a school cafeteria for breakfast), whole milk, scrambled eggs, sausage links, bagels (english muffin, cinamon, and everything bagel, and waffles. In my opinion the breakfast was average, but I enjoyed the waffles the most. The only downfall during breakfast was the waffles batter machine was not filled up and we had to ask the front desk if they could fill it up, which took some time, but other than that my family enjoyed breakfast. Also there were plenty of seats to sit at for breakfast. However if you decide to skip breakfast at the hotel there is a Mcdoanlds and Arby's right down the street. In addition, if you are worried about parking spots do not worry because the Comfort Inn has a large parking lot that is not far from the hotel, making it easy to carry your luggage. The next time my family is in the area and if the price stays the same we will be booking our rooms for The Comfort Inn in Pine Grove...
Read moreWe could tell when we drove into the parking lot it wasn't going to be good. There were huge potholes and the portico area bricks were crumbling. We walked inside and it smelled strongly of food and the floors were not vacuumed in the hall. We had reserved 3 rooms and 2 out of 3 weren't even clean. The bed wasn't even made from someone using the sheets in one and there were orange peels on the nightstand of the second room. We got two new rooms and they weren't much better. We suspect that they didn't clean them, only remade the beds with the same sheets. The sheets, pillows and towels were stained yellow and there was hair in one of the beds. There was rust and mold in the showers, the frames around the sinks were moldy and peeling. The faucet in one room was loose from the countertop. One of the rooms top locks was falling off the door and when we came back to the room the door had been opened. There was no hand soap at the sinks and believe me you will want to wash your hands if you touch anything in this moldy crumbling place. No one in my room slept with the sheets on top of them and we laid extra clothes across the pillows so our heads didn't need to touch them. The only reason we canceled our original hotel near knobels and booked this one is because we wanted a pool for the 5 kids we were traveling with. The pool was closed. The breakfast area was decently clean but the breads, muffins and bagels must have been really old. The trays were plastic wrapped like leftovers and the bagels and muffins were hard and dried out. There wasn't enough waffle syrup for everyone. We didn't want to try the sausage and get food poisoning so we stuck with the waffles and the yogurt that had a date printed on it. The front desk employees were talking about mold problems during breakfast so that was lovely while eating. When we left the employees were nowhere to be seen and there was a box to drop keys off. They were probably hiding so they wouldn't have to hear complaints about people's stays and refund their money....
Read moreMy husband is a professional over the road semi truck driver so we stay at hotels at least once or twice a week, and I must say this was by far the worst hotel we have ever stayed at. If I could have rated it a zero I would have. We booked and payed for our room thru a booking site with no issues. We specifically searched for a pet friendly hotel as we have a dog that is part of our family. When we reached the hotel it was approximately 1:15 pm so my husband went to check in and get our keys at which time he was informed that we couldn't get an early check in we had to come back at 5pm. That is a very late check in however we went ahead and planned on coming back around that time. When my husband went to check in he was very rudely told that we couldn't park our truck any where near by and would have to go a couple of miles down the road. Since we had already paid he went ahead and continued with check in when he was once again rudely told that we were going to have to have 100$ cash deposit or we couldn't stay. So my husband went to the ATM and withdrew the 100$ have it to the clerk and she threw a key and told him we were the last room on the 1st floor. As he was walking off she said oh yea and NO pets are allowed in this hotel. Well it specifically states on their website it is pet friendly and on top of that there were at least 2 other guests with pets because we observed them taking their pets for a walk outside on the grounds. We were furious about all of this as we truly felt they were being nasty to us because my husband is a truck driver. We observed check ins of other guests who were not asked for a deposit nor did they have the nasty demeanor they used with my husband. The room was clean and spacious but there were bed bugs because I was bitten 4 times. I do not recommend this...
