I like this style, altho the carpeting in hallways are in bad shape, this is the newer style rooms. Tile floors majority of room. ... Really should be no carpeting in rooms. Shower. Shower head or water pressure not so good. Nice and hot. The shower head does not have an option to change the spray. It is high so it is great for those who are tall. ||This hotel is our 2nd stay. (We didn't realize it until we pulled up.). |This is right off 81. |There is a very nice old fashioned (50's look) diner within walking distance. ||This hotel needs to be deep cleaned, but I noticed in the majority of the Hampton's little care for upkeep or "love" by the staff. ||The hotel pool towels are nice and on the thicker side vs the typical thin towels. ||The breakfast area is nice. The women on our last day worked harder. She even made sure all the jellies and honey, etc faced you and all neat and in a row. Just letting you understand she cared about her presentation. Good job. Same all pretty much all the others. Food is the same in all the others. This time or this hotel had Pumpkin flavored waffles for those that love pumpkin season but was not there the next day. We stayed here Sept 13 to 15, 2024||Our room had the shower doors that won't stay fully closed. So I would add a towel at the door opening. ||We pre-requested 4 extra sets of towels ahead of time. We asked when we checked in, and they said. The 4 SETS extra are in the room. Got in room. 2 towel sets... The standard. Not the 4 extra. After a long day, went right back down to ask for the towels and they didn't even apologize. Then wanted to have someone bring it to us later. This was 7 at night. When later ???? We demanded now, and they had to get up to get it. ||Staff are friendly, but that person was not very accommodating. ||I never saw any other workers, just the 1 to 2 at front desk and the breakfast person. I saw one cart for the maid, but no one else. ||This hotel has one elevator for the 3 floors. ||Walked past the gym, but we have not liked many of the gyms (usually old and worn out equipment). We did not even enter the gym . ||The pool seemed clean and clear water. ||The chairs are those old type vinyl/plasticy strap furniture. ||There seems to be work going on, as the back had a lot of supplies outside with a large dumpster or storage. |We did not see construction going on. ||The rooms are noisy or the doors are thin. I do not hear much thru the walls but definitely thru the thin doors. ||I wish Hilton or the owners of their hotels took care of their hotels. They remind me of an unattended Laundromat....we don't care about you, we just want your money. We have used many Hilton brand hotels over the past 3 years since we are Hilton honors. I don't feel like they care and Hilton Honors bring you back down to the beginning every single year. I don't know why they don't continue to add on. They only give you a water bottle and maybe a snack treat ...I don't think that is breaking...
Read moreI have stayed at Hampton Inn up and down the East Coast and Pennsylvania. The nice thing about Hampton Inn is they are always consistent. The quality of the rooms, the hotel and the staff are always good. Hampton Inn is generally a little more expensive, but is worth it.
We checked in on a Wednesday. We did contactless checkin which was a breeze. They did change my room from 1st floor to 3rd floor, I didn't want to deal with the elevator or stairs, but then realized at least we wouldn't hear the people above us since there is no 4th floor.
Fortunately, when we arrived, the Digital Key worked properly. There were a few times during our visit that the digital key icon said waiting on key (or something like that) and I had to wait 10-15 seconds for it to correct itself. Sharing the key was pretty effortless as well.
The room was clean and cool. It was a nice size room with a big desk and office chair and a second chair. I am not a fan of sitting in bed, so the extra chairs were appreciated. There didn't appear to be any damage to the room and everything that should be there was. The TV was big, although we didn't use it.
The breakfast was surprisingly good. We were there for 3 mornings and the breakfast was different each day, which was great. They always had oatmeal and cold cereals as well as waffles. They did have different waffles at least two mornings.
I do have 2 complaints and that is the reason for only 4 stars. The first was the squealing shower. Our shower squealed all the time. Every once in a while it would quiet for a minute or two, but otherwise it squealed. I even heard the room next to us had a squealing shower too.
The second complaint is the pillows. The pillows are terrible. They are too soft. Each bed had 4 pillows. Why not a combination of pillows, 2 medium, 1 firm and 1 soft? Every Hampton Inn I have stayed at has the same pillows, at least they are consistent.
The staff here was very friendly. I would highly recommend this Hampton Inn, just bring your own pillows if you don't like...
Read moreMy family stays at Hampton Inn almost every time we need a hotel. For the first time, when I walked into one today prior to check in to use the restroom, I was told no because I wasn't a guest. Every human being on the planet has to use restroom facilities. Perhaps if I had humiliated myself and explained why I medically needed to use the lobby restroom, I might have been able to receive some compassion for the urgency of the situation. Just so over companies and business owners that profit from regular people making policies that strip us of our humanity and treat us like dogs. Do better, please.
Edit to respond: The people at the truck stop, I am sure, would have been gracious. However, our first stop was going to be at the hotel since we were planning on staying there. No one would have seen my name because, believe it or not, in 2024, not every family member checking in has the same last name, and I did not take my spouse's. That said, we didn't have a reservation yet. Like many families on a road trip, and people with chronic health issues we didn't know when we would be ready for a stop. So, that said, you can hide your choices behind insurance liabilities if that is what you want to do but in my lifetime I have stayed in a zillion hotels and this was the first time I have ever been told I wasn't welcome to use the restroom in the lobby. For the record, I wasn't asked if I was a guest. You were right, though. We had every right to go elsewhere, and we did. Also, if you are having security issues, perhaps hire a guard to help rather than invoke abelist policies. Or don't pay for marketing campaigns that push google review requets when people of certain income streams drive away from your location. Or do nothing if you don't care. I am sure losing our business isn't going to cause any of you to...
