Pine Mountain Inn — Hotel in Pineville

Stayed there last Thursday night within less than 24 hours of arrival. We booked through Airbnb. And John was quick to respond to any questions or concerns. We had clear instructions on how to enter the property and our room. This was perfect for what we needed it for. A place to sleep and shower. Very thankful our room had a shower attached. We did not arrive until almost 11:00 at night. We felt very safe and secure in the neighborhood. I cannot comment on the quality of the shared kitchen area as we did not utilize it. The only thing that I was not a fan of was the fact that the room did not have any kind of living area as I am used to most airbnbs having some kind of table to eat at and couch to sit on. With that being said, I will not hold it against them because my friend and I made do for What Little time we spent there. Like I said we only needed a place to shower and sleep. Thankfully there was one chair in the room that she could be on her phone and I could be on my phone while I was sitting on the bed. I definitely recommend this place. 10 out of 10. This place was in a good location BUT... The room was very small Bathroom, you had to straddle the toilet to use the mirror. No hand towels, the floors were not clean in any part of the room The beds were terrible, thin mattress, hung over the sides of the bed, felt like I was falling out if I got close to the side No breakfast, which was stated "free breakfast" on the site There were security codes for the doors, entrance door also but the back door anyone could come and go, it stayed unlocked I booked 2 nights and had a certain date to cancel, I cancelled 1 night inside the time frame but John refuses to return my money for 1 night. There were no one on site if you needed anything, just a cell phone number and you could not get thru to anyone, he refused to answer calls which you can't leave a message because his mailbox was full. Not good communication at all.. hardly answers a text. WE WILL NOT STAY...

I rented a room hosted by John through Airbnb. Unfortunately, I discovered bed bugs in the room shortly after checking in. I reported the issue right away and canceled my reservation, but because of that, Airbnb won’t allow me to leave a review on their site.

When I notified John, he became hostile. He even showed up at the property and threatened to withhold my refund if I left him a bad review. I was shocked by how unprofessional and aggressive he was in response to a serious health and safety concern.

I'm posting here so others can be aware, since the Airbnb platform prevents me from sharing my experience directly. I do not recommend staying here. (My stay was booked for early June 2025) I did receive a refund through Airbnb. I sent them pictures of the bedbugs and even offered a video of John threatening no refund if I leave...
