I recently had the pleasure of staying at Coloma Cottages , and I must say it was an absolutely fantastic experience. From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the natural beauty of the surroundings and the warm hospitality of the staff.
The location of Coloma Cottages is truly unparalleled. Situated right by the river, the cottages offer breathtaking views of the water and the greenery that surrounds the property. It's a peaceful and tranquil setting, perfect for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of city life and reconnect with nature.
The cottages themselves are charming! I stayed in one of the riverside cottages, and I was pleasantly surprised by the level of comfort and attention to detail. The rooms were clean and furnished with everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The bed was cozy, and the bathrooms were modern and clean. I particularly enjoyed the private patio area, where I could sit and enjoy the serene beauty of the river and a quick dip in the above ground pool.
The staff at Coloma Cottages truly went above and beyond to ensure that my stay was memorable. They were friendly, attentive, and always ready to assist with any inquiries or requests.
One of the highlights of my stay was the proximity to outdoor activities. Coloma Cottages are located near the American River, which offers a variety of recreational opportunities such as kayaking, rafting, and hiking. Some of which I took advantage of.
Another aspect that impressed me was the overall tranquility of the property. Despite being fully booked during my stay, I never felt crowded or overwhelmed. The peaceful atmosphere allowed me to truly relax and unwind, making my experience all the more enjoyable.
I can't recommend Coloma Cottages enough. The picturesque location, comfortable accommodations, and exceptional service made for a truly unforgettable stay. Read moreI dream of this place frequently. I stumbled upon Coloma Cottages a few years ago while I was travel nursing in Placerville. I stayed there for 3 months, just my dog and I. I immediately fell in love with the property and the owners, in fact I loved Coloma Cottages so much I came back the next year for another 3 months. I've also come back multiple times when I wasn't travel nursing, just for a vacation.
DJ, Jeff, and Jacob quickly became my close friends and I still consider them family. They are hospitable and amazing hosts. They truly care about the guest that stay at Coloma Cottages and their goal is to give them the best experience they can. They are constantly adding and upgrading the property. They will give you as much or as little interaction as you like. They have endless recommendations around town.
The location is top notch. Its a 5 acre property that sits on the South Fork of the American River. The cottages are decorated beautifully and cozy, they have everything you need inside. There are a few restaurants within a short distance and you are about an hour from Tahoe. I loved waking up and having my morning coffee with my dog down by the river. In the summer, on low water days you can even swim right off the property. I've also tubed multiple times off their property down to Lotus park. Its an amazing and special place, Id live there permanently if I could. Go there you...
Read moreLoved Coloma cottages, it was a multigenerational family reunion of about 30 people that we’ve done each year for 35 years. We usually wait at least 5 years to return to any particular location but Coloma is the first that most want to return to next year or the year after. Way more privacy, easy access to the river without having to drive with wet grandkids kids back from a lake or river. Super clean and modern cabins with touches like foil, trash bags, coffee pods and sweeteners, life jackets, shampoo, artisan soap, so many things we usually have to bring or buy were covered. We rented the big house, Wi-Fi was great, area is flat, host/staff just minutes away and so sweet, didn’t bother us but available immediately if needed. Most cabins had no stairs unlike most cabins, helpful for the many is our group in their 70’s some with mobility issues. Two families stayed as overflow from cabins at ARR, but Coloma cottages is better for our needs, not to mention no issues with strangers parking in our spots or making noise that can happen at other places. Also the proximity to stores, river rafting, sutters mill museum and park were all fantastic. This place is fantastic and despite being July with temps in the mid to high 80’s, we were never hot because of the shade, pool and river with very few bugs even at outdoor group meals. This is the new standard for us that all places will be...
