I usually stay at Hampton Inn‘s and use the app. I’ve had excellent experience in other cities and states Ohio, Pennsylvania and Michigan. This location was particularly disorganized. I always like to use the digital key which did not work. When I went to the front desk for help they had no record of me choosing room 102. The front desk person was very frustrated and vocalized her anger repeatedly, continuously. There were several other customers there that had extreme frustration that was palpable, they were behind me in line. I thought that I would show some patience and I gave them the chance to go ahead and go ahead of me. Their problem could not be resolved and I watched two families leave. Then I re-approach the front desk for help they still had no record, but another man came up to try to help. He was wearing a backwards green cap with a big marijuana leaf on it that did not instill confidence in me. I finally did get a room and was able to check in, but the hallway was filled with unprofessional conversation and conduct from the workers at the Hampton Inn, as I was near the laundry. As my stay progressed, I wanted to stay later, add another day, I realize that the hotel was booked but a different front desk person offered that I could speak with the manager, which I was willing to do. He was unable to tell me when that person would arrive, he said possibly 9 AM. I waited till after 10 AM and the manager still has not arrived. I left a message for them to just call me to see if it was possible to stay an additional night. I was never contacted. I had family that stayed at the Fairfield Inn very close by. The atmosphere at that hotel was much different, much more professional and pleasant. So the next time I make a trip I will not be using the...
Read moreCUSTOMERS READ BEFORE YOU BOOK: I have been a regular customer of this hotel since 2022. During today’s (June 9, 2024 Sunday) instance, I had a terrible experience at this hotel along with my entire family. The pool area was chaotic and unsafe, there was a kids party happening in the pool area and my kid along with her cousins were swimming as a guests of the hotel (Hotel staff mentioned we can swim since we were guests of the hotel even if there was a pool party happening). The other kids that were part of the party were diving, jumping everywhere, and running around the ledge of the pool. It seemed like the pool was way over capacity, which is a serious health and safety hazard. There was no staff supervision despite having a pool party, making the situation even more dangerous. I would not recommend using the pool here if you value safety and order.
Recommendations: 1 - Hotel should hire a certified lifeguard when they allow kids parties in the pool area. 2 - Hotel should adhere to State of West Virginia swimming pool Safety Act. 3 - Hotel should adhere to State of West Virginia laws as it pertains of swimming pool capacity.
Notes: 1 - Rooms have been clean and comfortable over the past 3 years we have been staying in this property thanks to multiple staff including Dylan (Frontdesk Supervisor) 2 - Breakfast has been amazing thanks to Tammy (Breakfast Supervisor)

Read moreI’ve stayed at this Hampton Inn in Fairmont several times for work, and until now, every visit has been pleasant. However, during my most recent stay, I experienced something that left me feeling uneasy.
For the first time in all my years of frequent travel, a personal item went missing from my room — a door stopper wedge alarm that I use regularly as a single female who travels often for work. It’s not an expensive item, but it’s something that helps me feel safe when I’m staying alone. Because I have a consistent travel routine, I know exactly where I place it each night, and it was nowhere to be found.
Earlier that day, a housekeeper came by looking for cleaning supplies and mentioned she was training a new staff member who had cleaned my room. I can’t help but wonder if my item may have been taken or accidentally picked up by mistake. I reported it to the front desk, who said they would check with housekeeping and the lost and found. They told me someone would follow up the next day, but unfortunately, I never received any communication.
For the record, I believe the front desk staff did everything they knew to do, but I was disappointed that there wasn’t a clear process or follow-up for this type of situation. As a loyal Hilton Honors member who frequently chooses Hampton Inn properties, this experience has made me feel a bit less secure about allowing people to clean my room.
I hope management will take this feedback seriously and implement clearer procedures for handling guest property concerns. I’d love to continue staying here in the future with the same sense of trust...
