I'll start by saying the only reason this doesn't get five stars is because of the employees. The food itself was delicious and should we ever be near an A and W again we will absolutely try again.
When we first got there it was fine we placed our order and received our food in a timely manner. The food was great!!! The employees disappear to the back to do whatever it is back there and took their time getting to the register when another customer came in. While we were eating 2 guys came in that apparently were regulars because suddenly there are five employees all out by the register chatting with these two gentlemen. While this is happening one of the employees took her gloved hand and wiped it all over her face and scratched her arm several times then went and made these guys their milkshakes and floats without ever changing gloves. We finished eating and wanted to get some ice cream to go. We walked up to the counter to place a second order and the cashier walked away and then the two employees standing at the doorway to the kitchen are waving at another regular customer who is behind us. THen one of them came up to the register to take our order. As our order is being taken the other employee that was standing there went and talked to this regular customer and took her order and proceeded to go make that before our order was even placed, We ordered a papa burger, chocolate milkshake, and hot fudge sundae. The regular customers order was out before ours. This would have been fine if there was only 1 or 2 people were working in the back but we seen at least 4 when the first two regulars had come in so someone should have helped the girl make our ice cream. It seemed to us that if you were a regular and knew the staff then you got the royal treatment but if you weren't then you were just an inconvenience and the employees almost seemed bothered to be taking our orders.
As said before we enjoyed the food but the employees need some training on treating their customers because they seemed like they wanted to socialize more with each other in the back and with...
Read moreMy husband and I went to this establishment last evening (on a Wednesday late afternoon). Not one customer in the restaurant. There was a gentleman standing to the side of the order counter with a money bag in his hand and never acknowledged us. We stood there as he did for a few more minutes. A young lady came by him and grabbed the money bag, walked directly in front of us on the other side of the counter, and squatted under the counter(we were assuming she was putting the bag in the safe). She never acknowledged us! She walked past us again and walked to the back of the restaurant, and several minutes later, with cell phone to ear. Again, she never acknowledged us! At this point, we had been standing in a completely empty restaurant with not so much as a nod from the employee with money bag nor girl that took it from his hand. We stood at the counter for a total of more than 10 minutes without acknowledgment. We were not in a hurry and would have waited to place our order if we had been acknowledged. My husband had eaten here before and was excited for me to have their onion rings and mushroom burger. Unfortunately, I never got it! This review could have been so different, with just a nod and smile or I'm sorry folks, I'll be right with you. But to completely act as if we weren't there is totally unacceptable. Please...
Read moreOkay I really wanted to enjoy this place. I left hospital after some of my weekly appointments headed back to Ripley when I saw their advertisement sign....so I stopped
I ordered 2 hot dogs with chili Slaw and onions and a large root beer and then got back on the highway. When I opened my first hot dog my face dropped. The dog was a mess....loose very liquid like hot dog sauce with store bought Cole slaw...tasted like Walmart Deli style. No onions but mustard...thank goodness I'm not allergic to mustard.
Definitely not the best dog but the Weiner had a good taste. It's up to you if you want to try it out...hope your experience...
