Iâve had 2 unfortunate experiences here this year, & I suggest you stay elsewhere.
1st visit: New hotel, opened Feb 2024 & staff is nice. 3 power outages(Spring of â24). Walls are thin, u can hear your neighborâs snoring and alarm clock. I also got kicked off wifi almost everydayâŚBreakfast is mediocre & they donât rarely refill the chafing dishes, good luck trying to eat at 8:45am, & no âManagerâs Specialâ or âHappy Hour.â One morning they ran out of paper plates, & paper cups (I wasnât late to breakfastâŚ) A few times I saw the chef cooking steaks and more palatable foods for the employees- they eat better than the guests. One evening I asked the front desk for toilet tissue, she told me âSorry, weâre outâ & I had to wait till morning & ask housekeeping⌠Laundry machines (see pics) had stopped working 3 weeks b4 I got here, I stayed here for a little while and they never got fixed! I was told I could go next door to Springhill to use theirsâŚI get there, and only ONE washing machine works (I had a few loads). What an inconvenience! Both are new hotels, & this is what weâre paying for?!! No slope in the sidewalk of the back of the building for handicap, or for you to roll the luggage cart to the curb..smh. They didnât plan that well when building this place. U have to lift all your stuff onto the curb/luggage cart, or youâre forced to come through the front. Itâs neat & clean but the beds, desk chairs, and pillows are hardâŚsmh. Itâs a platform bed, and I donât think thereâs any springs in the mattress Iâm guessing itâs a foam mattress? If u plop down on the bed, thereâs no give. One pillow seemed better than the others, so I used that one the whole time.
The desk chairs are extremely hard. No room darkening curtains. No dresser/chest of drawers, but thereâs a little storage in the closet. I also noticed how narrow the hallways were and I could hear ppl always going in/out their rooms. Your neighbor is directly in front of your door so it can be a little noisy, compared to other hotels where the rooms are stagnated which helps cut down on A LOT of noise.
2nd visit (summer â24): I came here last minute (unfortunately) because previous plans didnât work out. Same hard beds & chairs. At check in I was warned about loud young teens staying here long term, but I âshouldnât hear anythingâ on the floor I was assigned to. Welp, unfortunately I heard LOUD noises the first night, and it was worse the 2nd ngt. From 1am-5am I heard yelling, cussing, and what sounded like ppl getting body slammed..anyway I told the older lady at front desk, and she said sheâd âgo check but not now because she was busy.â More than 30min later nothing was done & I called again and she still did nothing. She didnât care about my concerns. I didnât get any sleep, and later that morning I was told I could move. I was pissed, because Iâm the quiet guest, but I gotta move..(I had a lot to move). I ended up moving to a slightly bigger room for the same cost, where streaming on the tv didnât work for WEEKS. The mgr told me that the guests get 3 warnings before theyâre kicked out, & that they have âa contractâ with the company that these teens work for. I said, âYou have a contract w/ me too...â Those guys shouldâve been kicked out that night. It was a huge inconvenience to move 2 days after I moved all my sh** in!! The Operations Mgr gave me points for 1ngt stay, but he also lied to me a few times during this stay regarding $$ being refunded to me.
Again, good luck getting breakfast at 8:45-9am. They donât refill the (very shallow) chafing dishes even though it ends at 9:30. You have to wait 15min for an item that they donât even have to cook..all they do is heat it up. On both occasions when Iâd get towels, some of them looked soiled even though they were âclean.â Iâd immediately put them in a pile, to throw in the housekeeperâs âsoiledâ bag next time Iâd see them. Ended up having to talk to corporate, where I received some compensation and Iâm satisfied w/ that. However, I WILL...
Read moreGuests beware! Watch out for the light fixtures over the nightstands next to the bed. I hit my head two different times trying to plug something in. I actually got a mild concussion because of it. They are thick, metal light fixtures, and are poorly placed. The plug is at the inside of the nightstand so when you bend over to plug something in, itâs very easy to hit your head hard.
Additionally, the doors (both the room door and the bathroom door) are pretty loud. There is no quietly going in and out of your room or the bathroom because of this. Hope your spouse is not a light sleeper.
No one attended to the pool area, which was complete chaos during our stay with garbage and towels everywhere. People were in the pool/hot tub during late night hours and at one time there were 12 kids in the small whirlpool/hot tub playing games and acting up. There were no towels available on the cart because they had all been used. There was a giant party and none of the staff seemed to care about it.
Free parking and breakfast. Breakfast was meh. They had the same thing for breakfast all three mornings. Not very many options. Just sausage and gravy and some powered eggs. Fruit was old and sad. Oatmeal station was decent.
The kitchenette was decent. They give you the option to borrow various kitchen appliances, which is nice. The bathroom was OK, but there could have been a small make-up mirror. Itâs hard to get close to the mirror with the vanity in the way.
The desk had two chairs, but they did not roll, which I think was a miss on their part. Rolling chairs wouldâve been a much better option. Didnât like the chairs.
All in all, we would not stay here again because I donât want another concussion. However, there is a hotel across the parking lot that I might consider...
